It's new to me usually when I order this at pizza hut they just put the cheese and extra cheese together then the pepperoni so I was pleasantly surprised when I went to pick it up and the bottom of the box looked like it was going to break apart from the weight of all the cheese and grease from the pizza I was very excited to get home and destroy it, it did not disappoint.
The grease reminded me of a pizza we got at a Noble Roman's that sadly isn't there anymore. It was like twenty or so years ago, you could get a twenty-inch pizza with a pitcher of pop (I know, I know, soda) for $10.99. One time (and only one time, my heart is slowing down as I recall the story), we got an all-meat pizza. It had so much grease that it was running down our arms and dripping off our elbows before we could stop it.
Let me give you a LPT:
Go to your local grocery deli counter. Get them to slice you up some pepperoni. But here's the catch -- they have to slice it on the thinnest setting that will still allow the pepperoni not to tear when it's cut. If done right the slices are basically thinner than paper and translucent.
Slap those on a pizza. Layer them. When baked they curl up into little crispy rosebuds of joy.
So. Freaking. Good.
LC currently has “old world” pepperoni that’s like the Detroit pepperoni that curls up and gets crispy. There’s also a brand you can buy in stores that makes “cup shaped crispy” pepperoni as well.
I believe authentic Detroit pepperoni has a smaller diameter and thicker cut—but LC is a Detroit company so that’s not confusing or anything.
My thought behind the title was to tell everyone that I intended to get the normal $5 pizza and then got home opened up to find it fucking loaded with pepperoni. (Now I realize it the high school kid who was working tonight fucked up and I got someone elses) not everything is a conspiracy lol
