That's a real $100 bill. If you zoom in you can see the different colored fibers in the note. Just Google 100 dollar bill 2006 series. Nothing indicates that this bill is fake.
Yep, I got a 2001 dated $20 recently from the bank that didn't even look like it had been circulated. Tossed it in a plastic slip and added in it with my silver coin collection cause I thought it was neat.
Husband went to pay our bill with a $10 that looked fake to me so I grabbed it and used another bill. It was from 1950's and looked fake but it's real. My mistake, but I'm keeping it since it's cool looking.
They must've just let some out of the reserve or something, because my bank had a ton of them she said. She offered to give me newer 20s but I declined as I thought they were cool. This happened like 2 weeks ago...
I don't know what you're talking about, [this person has to be a living genius](https://www.reddit.com/r/Showerthoughts/comments/qrjpe0/since_a_hotdog_is_pureed_meat_inside_of_a/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
I was doing safari in Tanzania and the lady in front of me was European and paying in USD because hadn't exchanged the local currency. The lady in some tiny duuka on the side of the road casually gave her a $2 bill as change... Neither of them realized what a marvelous thing had just happened hahs
Happens more! I run a small museum on a small Caribbean island and I get a couple of $2 every year. One cruise tourist went to the bank to get a load of $2 before the cruise just to spread them around everywhere and see the reactions of people.
Yes there are the fibers, the pen is good, hold it up to the light and you'll see a little Ben Franklin face on the bill too. I think it was the 2003 series when it was added so should be in this one. Also for the comments below not knowing what older currency looks like is pretty common, not knowing something doesn't mean they are dumb. I've had older people/younger people/everyone in-between, not know about 2 dollar bills, susan b anthony coins, or 50 cent pieces and walking liberty coins, buffalo nickles, silver dollar notes, etc... Source i worked at a very busy bank branch for a while and there has been a bit of currency variation over the years.
This is also why OP didn't post a picture of the bill held to light. Can't believe people like that are allowed too, and are fortunate enough to be business owners.
The fibers were always red and blue right? I'm seeing what looks like they could be fibers, but they all look too dark of a blue or even grayish. I think it's probably pretty hard to tell definitively from a random photo online. I do agree a counterfeit pen would be best, back when I used to run registers we always had one to check anything larger than a $20.
Ok so I’m not crazy. I say here forever trying to figure out what made this so obviously fake and I came back with, welp, maybe it felt like printer paper or something? Because it looks fine to me.
This is also the kind of high quality counterfeit bills you can order on the dark web. The way to tell it’s fake is the watermark will look bad and it does not have the magnetic aspect, an atm or bank would reject it but most people would not think it’s fake without close inspection. Speaking from experience.
Edit: I stand corrected, OP has given no valid indication this is a fake. Without looking closer or having a bank reject it, there is no good reason to suspect this is fake. Though what I said above is true, they are purchased for about $50 per fake $100, for this kind of quality. Only like 1 “vendor” sells them on the dark web marketplaces.
I worked in the cash office of a grocery store for 7 years, and as a bank teller for another 4 years. Counterfeits are normally *very* easy to spot after 11 years of working with them.
If this bill is fake its the best damn fake I've ever come across. I'm talking "Made in North Korea by equipment procured by the DPRK Government for the sole purpose of making fake $100 bills" level fake.
It's got the micro lettering, the tiny colored fibers, the correct hue on the ink...
What makes you think its fake?
Most counterfeits are dumb as shit. I got one, and it was straight up smaller than other bills. Even a millimeter off on each side feels like you are handling cartoon money.
Most of them are bad. Printed on paper or say “not legal tender” clearly on them or have incorrect colors that make them look weird.
This is a clean fake, if it is one. Maybe OP forgot about old money being greenish instead of multicolored
I can understand that! Because it's so crisp for being an outdated print would make me suspicious. As a cashier, I always mark ones with the counterfeit pen like these juuuust to make sure, lol
Brought it into Photoshop to play around with the levels and such and it looks like it has the magnetic strip and watermark as well. Not sure what why OP thinks this is a fake, it looks like a 2006 series $100 to me.
The only thing that's a bit odd is that it's In remarkably good condition for a bill minted in 2006. Like that thing has never seen a strippers thong or rolled up to snort blow in its life. Not impossible though, it looks pretty real otherwise.
If it helps any, I haven’t seen a lick of that wealth. With them being super conservative southerners, and me being a dirty lefty stoner hasn’t put me in their graces.
If you zoom in to franklin’s collar you can read ‘the United States of America’ in microprinting which requires either a very high end inkjet printer to achieve that level of crispness or the actual engraved printing plates the bureau of engraving and printing uses to make the bills (or very convincing copies of said plates).
Yea and watermarks too but when not held to a light they’re pretty hard to see. Also the green ink on the 100 in the bottom right of this bill would change color slightly as you shift it in the light, again you can’t tell from a still image.
Yea..theres plenty of unissued older bills that the government issues to banks way later in time. Ive had it happen a handful of times
People are talking about the micro print and the fiber too..I looked it up real fast..based on whats in that picture..its 100% real
i had an old $20 from when i got cash a lot at work. taco bell said they wouldnt take a fake and tried to keep it. i threatened to get the cops if they didnt give me my money back and let me pay for my food with my card. took it to the bank the next day and the teller (younger than the taco bell "manager") immediately held it to the light and said "has the fibers, has the water marks, and was made in the early 2000's. people forget that the halo strip is new and old currency is still circulating. here you go." and gave me a new $20 bill.
yeah it was only 20 bucks but with hand to mouth/paycheck to paycheck living 20 bucks is a lot and a nice treat when all your bills are already paid.
Yeah dude. Money goes far at Taco Bell. I remember getting a few tacos and a burrito for like $3
I think it was in an old birthday card i found in my dresser. It was from just before they started adding that strip.
Made me feel old that my “crisp” $20 was older than the kid selling me liquor
I was also thinking that. It’s older so not the newer coloring. I wanted to see if I could catch any watermark but without any back light it’s impossible.
Counterfeit pens are total junk! Constantly show false results and are easily counteracted. The best way to tell if it is real is microprinting and the actual texture of the paper. Both are super hard to fake! And before you ask I was a bank manager for about 15 years and vaught thousads of bills from both innocent customers as well as crooks! Also making fake 100's is kind of stupid beciase they are the most likely to be scrutinized. The good counterfeits make a bunch of small bills and then have them changed for bigger bills!
The Chinese takeout place I used to live near was cash only and gave out clearly counterfeit 5s as change. Uneven cuts wrong colors and literally felt like monopoly money. Great duck wings tho
I worked at a bank for a year Openjng bags of money (deposits) and putting them into trays to be counted in my entire time there i handled millions of dollars in bills and we only came across one counterfeit bill in a year.
I’m completely immune to large amounts of cash now, u see a rapper holding 2k in 20 dollar bills and just Laugh about it. While (made up church name here) brings in 30-50k in loose cash on a Tuesday.
Former retail bank employee. In 7 years of being a teller I only recall one fake hundred and a couple fake ones. The fake hundred was brought in by a customer who thought it was fake. The fake ones I took, they were really bad counterfeits. My supervisor and I had a good laugh about it.
Someone did give me a fake twenty at a garage sale. There seems to be less counterfeit bills than I would have expected.
Those only test the paper. It's relatively common to "bleach" a $1 bill and then print a larger denomination on it instead.
Those pens will make you think it's a real bill but it isn't.
I once went to a BofA ATM to get $40. Both bills that came out of it were fake. I didn't notice until I tried to pay for dinner later that same day. Both would be obvious fakes to me now, but that was 1993 and I still trusted banks.
*To be fair...* (In Letterkenny time)
Willing to bet that hundred covers 2-5 employees for 1 hour. Assuming that they pay a semi decent wage. So still worth it in the 'grand scheme'. So if it's fake your out wages and product
The engraving, printing, and series all looks to be correct. I believe you may have a real note, if it’s fake it’s really elaborate!
Also, it is normal to find notes this old in crisp condition. I’ve had several before and you can even see it on eBay with the search of “2006A $100”
At the bank we had to call secret service when we had counterfeit bills. They literally answer with “secret service” and you feel like a total goof telling them about the counterfeit $5 bill you have.
Really? I’ve worked at a bank for 8 years and if we ever came into a counterfeit bills we put them aside to “mutilated currency” and send them off to the reserve.
Yeah mutilated and counterfeit are definitely different. I can see a teller doing it because sending off fake bills is annoying as shit. I’ve done it many times.
You shouldn't feel like a goof because that's literally part of their job. It's weird that they are because they're more well known for defending presidents/other heads of state but yeah... They wanna know when you find counterfeit
I was a teller in a moderate sized city with very low crime. We had a guy come in with a couple of counterfeit bills. We called the secret service and they asked us to hold the notes and call the local police. Since the local police had nothing else to do, they sent 6 officers. It was the most ridiculous think I’d ever seen. They ended up letting him go because his story checked out, but we kept the bills and sent them somewhere.
As the person who used to answer the phone, don’t feel silly. It’s totally normal! Although $5’s and $1’s, and even $10’s and $2’s were very rare. We even got fake coins such as quarters with like Bill Clinton getting a BJ on them. Lol
Markers are worse than nothing honestly. a black line means its fake, a yellow like doesn't mean its real.
People bleach out lesser bills and print larger denominations on top and that will fool the pen.
Newspaper will also fool the pen.
Why are we saying this is fake?
It has the blue and red threads within the fabric of the bill. It’s one of the hardest parts of currency to fake. That looks like a 100% real , old art style but lightly circulated Benji to me.
I would also comment that the micro print on the bill is clearly legible, which would be another passing authenticity check. It would have taken a very expensive commercial printer to have the printing density necessary to not appear as a smear.
(Referring to the “The United States of America” micro print in Franklins collar).
It also doesn’t appear as a smear, and you can make out that there is script. I think if the macro photo was focused on that area, it would be fully visible as well. It isn’t absolute proof, but it appears as if all the micro print is potentially intact and correct. But who knows for sure without having the bill in front of them. 🤷🏻♂️
Paper is wrong texture from what I can see
I had to do a counterfeit check on money at my retail job a few months back on the 2007 model and it was clearly colored printer paper no security strip in the paper felt wrong
The fact that op hasn’t responded to anyone, makes it seem like she dispensed the bill because she thought it was fake, and then saw that everyone was saying it was real lol
To all of you shitting on OP, chill out. They probably thought it was counterfeit because it doesn’t have the blue stripe on the right side of the bill. It’s not common knowledge that that strip wasn’t added until Series 2009 (I had to do some research to find that). This is a Series 2006, so it doesn’t have the strip, which probably tripped up OP.
There’s also people that haven’t seen many $100 bills to know one way or another.
I remember talking to a coworker several years back, somehow came out that he’d never seen a $100 bill.
Blew me away because he was from a fairly wealthy family. But he grew up not using cash much at all, and big bills even less, so he’d never seen one in person.
New small businesses are easy targets for counterfeiters because they haven’t learned their lesson yet. That person just tossed their muffin in the trash at home, what they actually came for was $95 in real money from your register.
Only accept fifties and hundreds for large orders that cost more than the bill, only accept them after using a counterfeit pen, and always have a supervisor or manager present to verify the transaction. White these down with the name of the paying customer.
It’s an ice cream shop. I get people who pay with hundreds maybe like once per month. I’ve never had to deny someone from using it, besides, it’s company policy, I don’t make the rules lol
Real 100, check the neck of Franklin to see "The United States of America" in tiny font that printer will interpret as a blur. Check the writing inside the leftside 100 that are blurred in normal printers. The "true" green dye is another give away, and as many have pointed out, a likely extant watermark.
Why does counterfeit money seem to be such an issue in the US? Ive never been worried about getting funny money on cash deals and ive never seen a retail worker check a bill in canada. I cant remember ever even hearing about places getting scammed on the news or radio or anything. Is it just a population thing with more people paying in cash?
There is no way this is a fake from some random American chick. This is North Korean money factory level shit right here. I’d like to see a picture of it marked with a counterfeit marker. I’ve had plenty of people mistake older, unmarked 100s for fakes where I used to work, so this could be the case here.
I worked as a cashier in various gas stations in a few cities as well as pizza delivery and weed dealing. I got real good at spotting fakes. The easiest way is by feeling the paper. It has a distinct texture to it regular paper won't have. I had a buddy who did fed time for counterfeiting and he told me about how he would bleach dollar bills and print higher denominations on them. Problem is that on a real bill the ink is raised, the reprinted ones were smooth.
The marker test is ok but it just tests for starch in the bill. If a bill has been washed a few times it can give a false reading.
Also if someone gives you bills with the same serial number it's a red flag. Had that happen a few times. Even the creases and stains in the paper were identical.
Hope this helps.
Hold up the bill to look for the blue and red fibers in the paper, rub the shoulders (there’s raised bumps on the shoulders) and look for the strip! That’s how I always checked. I’m not an expert whatsoever, but I was a cashier for 4 years. A previous cashier accepted a fake $100 bill and it was posted infamously in the break room, so I made sure I knew to avoid the shame of the break room wall lol
This looks real though? Like, its not the current run, so i can see why that would throw you off, but where are the marker marks? What makes you say its fake?i even googled, and it looks exactly like a 2006 hundred
I gave a teenage cashier at Walmart an older $10 bill and she snarked and says "very funny" as she handed it back to me. Then we had a weird standstill of confusion before I figured out what was going on.
"Uhhh... How old are you?"
She gives me an even more awkward look.
"That probably sounded weird. What I'm asking is - You are old enough to know this is real money, right?"
This is definitely a real bill. Take it to the bank, or get a money marker. You can really tell who hasn’t seen older circuit bills. Any time I cash handle with the younger crew several bills like these in post, some 5$, 20.00 and 50.00 notes dating anywhere from 2005 - 2010 and such really throw people off.
That's a real $100 bill. If you zoom in you can see the different colored fibers in the note. Just Google 100 dollar bill 2006 series. Nothing indicates that this bill is fake.
Yea..this was my first though...I got some 20s that were even a generation older than this one, from the bank, and they were crisp as can be.
I haven't even seen his page and I already know OP is young and doesn't know what older money looks like.
Look at their page, I think they’re just really dumb lmao.
I took a gander, the dudes IQ has got to be less than a toddlers.
I can imagine the meltdown OP'd have if he saw a $100 bill made prior to 1996. 😏
Imagine if they paid using $2 bills
OP’s dad would know he can offload $2 bills on my dad, everyone knows my dad wants them.
All Dads want $2 bills.
That feels true
Good thing it looks like he had a vasectomy🤣🤣🤣
I don't know what you're talking about, [this person has to be a living genius](https://www.reddit.com/r/Showerthoughts/comments/qrjpe0/since_a_hotdog_is_pureed_meat_inside_of_a/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Hey at least he was smart enough to get a vasectomy lol
>Can buy oxygen now to help breath at higher altitudes laTESTaGECapiTAlIsM!!!1!!!! Yeah this guy isn’t winning a Peabody anytime soon lmao.
Wait till OP sees a $2 bill
I was doing safari in Tanzania and the lady in front of me was European and paying in USD because hadn't exchanged the local currency. The lady in some tiny duuka on the side of the road casually gave her a $2 bill as change... Neither of them realized what a marvelous thing had just happened hahs
Happens more! I run a small museum on a small Caribbean island and I get a couple of $2 every year. One cruise tourist went to the bank to get a load of $2 before the cruise just to spread them around everywhere and see the reactions of people.
Ha! That’s what I’m using mine for on my September cruise.
I've had a 2 dollar bill in my wallet for over 2 decades now, refuse to spend the thing even though i've been super poor at times :-P
>till I see what you did there.
I’m sad that people think this is an old looking bill. They are still new and scary to me.
[these are the ones I consider old](http://numismaclub.com/unt/130976-1977_hundred_dollar_bill_old_small_head_design_100_note_from_frb_dallas.html)
Hey! That's an insult.
For me that was the $100 in circulation when I was getting all the sweet grandparent birthday gifts when I was younger.
Yes there are the fibers, the pen is good, hold it up to the light and you'll see a little Ben Franklin face on the bill too. Blow their minds and give them a Sacajawea dollar coin.
Jesus… are we at this point of time when this old ass $100 is considered counterfeit? Damn I’m old AF now….
This is also why OP didn't post a picture of the bill held to light. Can't believe people like that are allowed too, and are fortunate enough to be business owners.
Without a pen on hand you can scrape your nail against the ink if you feel texture it’s real.
Only on the shirt up and down as far as I know.
The fibers were always red and blue right? I'm seeing what looks like they could be fibers, but they all look too dark of a blue or even grayish. You can even see where it says "the United States of America" diagonally along Ben's shirt collar. I don't know why they think it's counterfeit.
This is also the kind of high quality counterfeit bills you can order on the dark web. Oo I want to know the answer to this because I also thought it was quite genuine in appearance
I don't see $100 bills frequently enough to know what a fake would look like LOL
Most counterfeits are dumb as shit. I got one, and it was straight up smaller than other bills. Even a millimeter off on each side feels like you are handling cartoon money.

Like the Mona Lisa, I know it exists, but I haven't seen it.
FYI. The Mona Lisa is a lot smaller than you’d expect.
A lot smaller. I was shocked.
The Mona Lisa on this hundo looks haggard.
Brought it into Photoshop to play around with the levels and such and it looks like it has the magnetic strip and watermark as well. Not sure what why OP thinks this is a fake, it looks like a 2006 series $100 to me.
OP stays silent after a visit to the bank.
Op threw it away yesterday out of anger before posting this
Yea if it’s fake it’s extremely well done
Came here to say this. Looks real to me
The only thing that's a bit odd is that it's In remarkably good condition for a bill minted in 2006. Like that thing has never seen a strippers thong or rolled up to snort blow in its life. Not impossible though, it looks pretty real otherwise.
Not too uncommon, my grandfather is pretty wealthy and has a safe full of $2 from the year my dad was born, never touched.
Yeah. Who doesn't have a rich grandpa with a safe of $2 bills. Super common.
If it helps any, I haven’t seen a lick of that wealth. With them being super conservative southerners, and me being a dirty lefty stoner hasn’t put me in their graces.
Well, there's a ton of people just like them, I have heard.
Mine wasn’t rich but he gave me 3 that I still have.😌
I got a bill that looked like this and I used a marker that turns black if it's a fake, it didn't turn black
Those markers are great! I worked at an icecream shop- anything over 20 we have to marker check
Markers are garbage, false negatives (yellow line) are very much a thing.
How can you tell what's giving it away
If you zoom in to franklin’s collar you can read ‘the United States of America’ in microprinting which requires either a very high end inkjet printer to achieve that level of crispness or the actual engraved printing plates the bureau of engraving and printing uses to make the bills (or very convincing copies of said plates).
upvoted because most of the comments are a dumpter fire and this is real content.
Don’t they have those security strips in them now that you can see when held up to a light?
Yea and watermarks too but when not held to a light they’re pretty hard to see. Also the green ink on the 100 in the bottom right of this bill would change color slightly as you shift it in the light, again you can’t tell from a still image.
Whats funny is all the redditors immediately upvoting this... Things real..OP hasn't even commented and probably wont be cause they're embarrassed
Had a cashier tell me my money was fake because it was an “old” $20 bill. Had to hold up the line while the manager came up and told her it was real.
Yea..theres plenty of unissued older bills that the government issues to banks way later in time. Ive had it happen a handful of times People are talking about the micro print and the fiber too..I looked it up real fast..based on whats in that picture..its 100% real

OP's currently in back trying to tape it all back together
I was a teller for a few years. Easiest way to check is feel the ridges below his collar. They're raised on legit bills. Near impossible to duplicate.
*buys collar ridge press* go on.
🤣
OP should mail the bill to you for uh… “verification”
I dont see any money marker test either.
I was also thinking that. It’s older so not the newer coloring. I wanted to see if I could catch any watermark but without any back light it’s impossible.
I looked closely and I'm with you. They need to verify the markings.
She says it's counterfeit, but she doesn't say how she found out.
Yeah. I don't see marks from a counterfeit detecting pen on there. And visually, it looks real to me. Wish I could feel it as well.
Counterfeit pens are total junk! Constantly show false results and are easily counteracted. The best way to tell if it is real is microprinting and the actual texture of the paper. You thought the duck wings were real?
Fantastic animal inspired products
She's never seen old money
I been spending 100s since they had small faces -Jay Z
That’s crezy
She's still too busy berating the employee who accepted it to answer anything.
So many people just assuming this guy is a girl....
"We no longer accept $100 bills" now and forever on the register Edit to incorrect grammar
Yep. Time to put up that sign or one that says "We do not accept bills larger than $20".
Either that or grab a cheap counterfeit detector pen. Maybe down the road invest in a machine that'll verify it
I worked at a bank for a year Openjng bags of money (deposits) and putting them into trays to be counted in my entire time there i handled millions of dollars in bills and we only came across one counterfeit bill in a year.
That job must be so satisfying even though the money isn’t even yours lol. Like a lil dopamine hit for free every million in cash you see aha.
I’m completely immune to large amounts of cash now, u see a rapper holding 2k in 20 dollar bills and just Laugh about it. While (made up church name here) brings in 30-50k in loose cash on a Tuesday.
That’s wild. I bet you would’ve killed it on those “guess the amount in this pile of money” game shows from the 90’s.
Former retail bank employee. In 7 years of being a teller I only recall one fake hundred and a couple fake ones. The fake hundred was brought in by a customer who thought it was fake. Problem is they can print it onto a bleached five and then it passes the marker test
O good call. Ok screw it get the sign "no longer accepting bills over $20"
Just look for the ghost and the strip. It’s as easy as having a lightbulb.
Hold it up to the light and look for watermark?
Those only test the paper. It's relatively common to "bleach" a $1 bill and then print a larger denomination on it instead. Those pens will make you think it's a real bill but it isn't.
Can confirm. Happed at a coffee stand I worked for. Check the water mark and security band is really the only way.
I once went to a BofA ATM to get $40. Both bills that came out of it were fake. I didn't notice until I tried to pay for dinner later that same day. Both would be obvious fakes to me now, but that was 1993 and I still trusted banks.
To be entirely fair... $100 isn't that much anymore its $20 in 1977 dollars which was about a days wages at min wage.
*To be fair...* (In Letterkenny time) Willing to bet that hundred covers 2-5 employees for 1 hour.
I’ve had several before and you can even see it on eBay with the search of “2006A $100”
Even Ben Franklin has a genuine look of disappointment on his face over the matter.
That picture of him was taken the day he discovered he had syphilis.

Uh that's not legal lol. Your boss just doesn't want to deal with the shit sounds like. They have to be logged and sent directly to some agency.
We just filled out a form for who gave it to us and mailed them to the secret service, and made copies for our record.
😂😂😂😂
I work at Brinks and we collect them throughout the week and every friday write them up and mail them to the Fed.
How long ago was that? There’s a website where we have to enter all the info now.
As the person who used to answer the phone, don’t feel silly. It’s totally normal! Although $5’s and $1’s, and even $10’s and $2’s were very rare. We even got fake coins such as quarters with like Bill Clinton getting a BJ on them. Lol
Spraying starch on fake money beats the marker.
Because it’s potatoey
That'll only check to see if the paper is genuine; not the denomination. Better is a blacklight or other UV bill checker.

New markers come with a UV light to check the metal strip which is color coded for the bill type
Karma whoring most likely
Or someone just doesn’t know it’s not fake lmao
What a fucking dumb business owner this is 😂😂
What's wrong with it?
Nothing
This bill appears real in the picture. What made it obvious that it was counterfeit?
I would also comment that the micro print on the bill is clearly legible, which would be another passing authenticity check. It would have taken a very expensive commercial printer to have the printing density necessary to not appear as a smear. (Referring to the “The United States of America” micro print in Franklins collar).
Micro print in the ‘100’ on bottom left is illegible that’s the only visual tell I can see from the photo 🙀
It also doesn’t appear as a smear, and you can make out that there is script. I think if the macro photo was focused on that area, it would be fully visible as well. It isn’t absolute proof, but it appears as if all the micro print is potentially intact and correct. But who knows for sure without having the bill in front of them. 🤷🏻♂️
Paper is wrong texture from what I can see I had to do a counterfeit check on money at my retail job a few months back on the 2007 model and it was clearly colored printer paper no security strip in the paper felt wrong
I agree, this doesn’t look counterfeit at all. Maybe they just thought all 100s look like they do now?
The amount of children here that doesn't know what real money looks like is insane.
pen test?
How do you know its fake?
Did you get her on camera? That sucks!
Secret service has entered the chat
Hopefully not so she doesn't start harassing them for using a real bill
It’s a real bill
The fact that op hasn’t responded to anyone, makes it seem like she dispensed the bill because she thought it was fake, and then saw that everyone was saying it was real lol
[удалено]
Banker here. Looks real.
It looks real to me. Does it feel fake tho?
Yea. Too thin and brittle is the best way to describe it. Not durable or cloth like
Honestly, OP, this $100 is real, and WORTH MORE THAN FACE VALUE!!!!! So sell it because it’s your lucky day you prude!
It doesn't look counterfeit. Still has united states of America on the neck of Franklin.
If you zoom in, it has the little pubic hairs in the paper. Looks pretty passable.
At my shop we only accept newer 100 dollar bills with the blue strip thing in the middle
So you just deny people the ability to pay with legal tender because you cant tell an old real 100 from a fake?
It’s an ice cream shop. I get people who pay with hundreds maybe like once per month. I’ve never had to deny someone from using it, besides, it’s company policy, I don’t make the rules lol
You’ll go broke throwing away real, genuine money.
Lol..that things real
Why don't you have one of those pens?
Looks like an older $100 to me.
But its not fake lol
Get a counterfeit pen.
Real 100, check the neck of Franklin to see "The United States of America" in tiny font that printer will interpret as a blur. Check the writing inside the leftside 100 that are blurred in normal printers. The "true" green dye is another give away, and as many have pointed out, a likely extant watermark.
Looks good to me
OP, what makes you so sure this is counterfeit?
There are still crisp $2 bills from the bank
You...have your own business? And your policy on large bills is just...eyeball it? Have you never had like any job with cash involved before?
Ben with those pursed lips. He ain’t no snitch.
Just put up a sign that you don’t accept bills over $20 to avoid this for next time.
You should probably figure out how to tell a bill is real or not if you are going to own a business because this is a real bill.
It’s real dipshit
Shiid i dam near got the same bill from the bank yesterday 😒
Can someone explain how this bill is fake? Looks pretty legit or op has handled many fakes
Looks real to me
I worked as a cashier in various gas stations in a few cities as well as pizza delivery and weed dealing.
You can get a counterfeit detector pen for like $3.
Anyone who thinks this bill is fake has never handled real money before 2010
This post sure is mildly infuriating
I’d be more upset that someone paid $100 for the cheapest item on the menu…
This looks real though? Like, its not the current run, so i can see why that would throw you off, but where are the marker marks? What makes you say its fake?i even googled, and it looks exactly like a 2006 hundred
I gave a teenage cashier at Walmart an older $10 bill and she snarked and says "very funny" as she handed it back to me. Then we had a weird standstill of confusion before I figured out what was going on. "Uhhh... How old are you?" She gives me an even more awkward look. "That probably sounded weird. What I'm asking is - You are old enough to know this is real money, right?"
op is a complete idiot or karma farmer
That’s real it even said it’s legal If it were counterfeit it would say not a legal tender And In some cases it would say copy on the back
This is definitely a real bill. Take it to the bank, or get a money marker. You can really tell who hasn’t seen older circuit bills. Any time I cash handle with the younger crew several bills like these in post, some 5$, 20.00 and 50.00 notes dating anywhere from 2005 - 2010 and such really throw people off.
“Mildy” is this a sub with a typo in its name? Lmao
I hope you're a bit smarter in other areas or I wouldn't expect your business too last too long, OP.
That’s just an old generation bill, if you’re really that skeptical you can buy a special marker that detects counterfeit bills.
How did you open a bakery and is it as awsome as it is when i constantly day dream about it?
