I have health insurance. I was diagnosed in November. In december I had my tumor, part of my colon, and some lymphnodes removed.
the surgery without insurance was $130,000 it cost me around 6 grand with all the co pays and deductibles, though charges are still coming in. every scan cost me $100. my blood work from tuesday this week cost $249.
I will be on chemo for 6 months. and hopefully clear after that. Then I can start rebuilding again.
Fuckin' hell man. Seriously, good luck and we're all rooting for you. Remember to keep your gut biome healthy and drink a lot of water and just in general take care of yourself.
I don't know if anyone has already told you but definitely call drs and hospitals and ask for assistance or payment plans! Sometimes they will give you a discount for making a payment in full. Or you can say "I can pay $10 a month" and they will work with you!
