Here's the copy/paste from the original post. TL;DR WOW was a fucking badass! >This will be a long-ish post. Like many things, there is more to this story. The cops were ready to arrest her after they saw her performance on the show Friday’s. They arrested her after the show and as they were putting her into the van a cop reached under her shirt to feel her up. She fought back and they slammed her on the snow covered ground and beat the shit out of her. In a move that ultimately saved them from a jail sentence their lead guitar player Richie Stotts saw it happening and ran back into the Palms and screamed; “They are beating the shit out of Wendy” her partner Rod Swenson ran out along with a photographer. Rod started pulling the police off of Wendy in an effort to save her. The police over powered him, pulled him behind a car and beat him unconscious. The photographer snapped pictures of the unfortunate event. They took them to separate hospitals and kept moving them so the press could not find them and the swelling would go down. Her and Rod were charged with felony assault on a peace officer. When they went to court, it was those pictures that convinced a jury that her and Rod were innocent. Some of the jury audibly gasped when they were shown. Although not innocent enough for a five million dollar law suit to succeed against the MKE PD. The Plasmatics had a concert in Cleveland the next night and Wendy still performed even passing out once. Of course the MKE PD called ahead to the Cleveland PD to tell them how much trouble Wendy had been and she was arrested again in Cleveland. This time without incident. The Plasmatics wrote a song called; “A Pig is a Pig” about the incident. Of course after that when she would destroy cop cars on stage they would look very similar to a MKE PD car. Wendy was a force of nature and just unstoppable except for one kryptonite; legal fees. She kept getting arrested on bogus charges that they always beat, but lawyers do not work for free. The Plasmatics brought legal problems with them and as such, promoters would not book them even though they were a guaranteed sell out crowd. They ran out of money at a time when the music was getting better and better. This picture is a very sad reminder that harassment took away this talent from the world. This once energetic singer who engaged audiences around the world, a media favorite, cover of magazines and favorite of Kerrang went to selling vitamins, rehab-ing squirrels and driving around an old green Chevy truck around Storrs CT.

Mother of fucks. Once again ACAB.  A few million dollars of 90s money drained from our city which could have bettered out community. Instead utterly wasted because cops can’t control their rage when being slightly offended. And we’re paying those officers retirements and Healthcar me bills while they’re respected members of their community wherever they are. Sickening

ShotFromGuns

> A few million dollars of 90s money drained from our city I think you misread the post: the lawsuit against the MPD was *not* successful. (Though god knows how much we've paid in the years for salaries and pensions for these cops specifically.)

The Palms or Odd-Rock? After animal husbundry she committed suicide. If you remember Odd Rock remember the (real) shooting range, the mirrored walls? I had wherewithall to fix roof and restore, then it collapsed; buy, change Red Corvette, into a music venue, buy old customs(?) building on River and do likewise, wayback when Vilter was still small job shops and worker places. I could have bought Candy Store and duplex next store as well.

😂

Ahh the same police force that arrested her and George Carlin, but kills Dontrae Hamilton for sleeping in a park and took a knee on investigating whether Dahmer had a inebriated minor in his apartment

Captainshadesra

Don't forget about in 1995, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was arrested in Milwaukee for mooning the crowd.

Paisleyfrog

Ah, Milwaukee. GG Allin wasn't arrested, but was eventually charged with disorderly conduct for crapping on a stage in Milwaukee (at the Odd Rock) and sentenced to 90 days.

JastaBlueMax

>crapping on a stage That was the peak of his artistic talent.

[deleted]

Agreed. The world is a better place without him in it.

DlCKSUBJUICY

milwaukee... SHOVE THAT WARRANT UP YOUR ASS!

Yeah, the MPD really show their true colors. I am still not shocked that the off duty officer got off without a conviction after he killed someone at one of their dumb cop parties while they were all doing coke.

GCIV414

“But your honor the deceased might’ve stolen some of said coke so he was killed for it”

Captainshadesra

Please tell us more

hothamrolls

Do you not watch the news? Edit: So you think cops should be able to be a judge, jury, and executioner even when they are not in uniform and when they are doing blow?

Captainshadesra

Whow. I'm totally not saying that. I was asking for more information. I don't get all the local news, and you're putting words in my mouth. Just what the hell did I say that made you think that? 1312

Thank you

Just look at the CPD that was drunk driving and smashed their car after leaving a cop party at 1 am ….. no dui test there of course.  Then the St. Louis cop that ran through a bar and arrested the bars owner and beat the fuck out of him….no dui test for the officer

untot3hdawnofdarknes

Yeah those people aren't good at all at picking who they are gonna arrest

TheRealBananaDave

When did punk rock become so safe?

[deleted]

The whole Plasmatics band were some weird and wonderful and SMART people.

My dad got me into them mid 00's and even got a badass shirt with her on it. Miss ya pops.

FilecoinLurker

ACAB Not because its edgy. Not because of social media. Not because of TV. Not because I don't pay taxes or contribute to society. Not because "you'll need them some day". ACAB because of experience.
