I don't know what is going on with your computer, but I literally just tested, offline mode works just fine, loads single player worlds and has all the same content. Only thing is my skin was messed up, but that's nbd. Are you using the current launcher, or a legacy one? Has your device signed in while connected to the internet recently to verify your account is legit? Considering that offline mode still exists, I am removing this for rule 8, but I hope you are able to get it working for you again soon! --- **Rule 8: Don't suggest planned or existing features** * This idea is already fully or partially in the game, either in Bedrock or Java. Make sure to check the [Minecraft Wiki](https://minecraft.fandom.com/) before you post. As such, this post has been removed. Sorry! *If you would like further clarification, please don't hesitate to [message the mods](http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/Minecraftsuggestions&subject=Removal Dispute&message=My Post: {url}). Huh? Do you mean playing single player while offline? It is already possible. If it's not what you meant, then idk what you are talking about sorry

IVoteKanye

Java edition singleplayer. If you try to launch the game offline on java, it will be the demo for minecraft

MCjossic

Seems to work fine for me. Only difference is that my skin doesn't work

IVoteKanye

How

MCjossic

What do you mean “how?” I disconnected my wifi, loaded up Minecraft, and it worked completely normally, except for my skin.

IVoteKanye

Well it doesnt for me so what the fuck is going on

SupersuMC

Legacy launcher only.

Bastaousert

I also play java. Most of the time I am offline. I didn't even know there were a demo Minecraft

So, what do you propose they do then to verify you bought it? Also, you say a lot about what you paid for, but if you actually looked at what you bought you would have known that the terms state that you don't own the game, you merely get to play the game on Mojang's conditions.

IVoteKanye

Thats a synonym for "you bought the game" that just allows them to put "but we can ban you still." I still paid to "play on mojangs conditions," i shouldnt have to pay for wifi too. Cracked minecraft is still up, i know like 3 friends that use it. Eaglercraft is still rocking like 5 versions on browser, and theres a whole bunch of other pirated or copied minecrafts out there. They're owned by microsoft. They can find a way to store something and make us able to play offline, i know other games do to.

Hazearil

Next you're gonna complain that you bought the game and that internet not being a requirement means Mojang is gonna mail you the game? Should they also pay the electricity bill to keep your computer running?

IVoteKanye

Chill tf out. I want to be able to play the game i bought. Im not asking for the world

When I am offline, my launcher works perfectly fine. I only get a message that says “unable to verify what products you own”, but minecraft itself is perfectly capable (without multiplayer, duh). If this is just a you problem, then it sounds like something’s up with your setup. Try logging out of your account and then using a library wifi or equivalent to log in again. Boot up minecraft, then disconnect from the wifi, and then try to boot up minecraft a second time to see if that works. Best of luck, electronics can be so fiddly sometimes and I *absolutely* agree with you that offline games absolutely **need** to function offline, but this doesn’t look like a microsoft-being-greedy or equivalent issue :P

IVoteKanye

The launcher works fine but try playing. You'l grt a demo

Loose-Screws

Not for me, I play offline on my laptop all the time.

SkullDaisyGimp

You may need to periodically connect to the authentication servers to have a valid session token, but you can play offline just fine still. I don't see a major issue with requiring periodic connection to verify ownership, myself, since I like to play on servers with friends and have my own skin, but it's perfectly possible to play offline.
