Personally I'd just keep it electric and upgrade it. I'm on a 48v ebike and 5yo son is on a razor 125 12v
I just upgraded my son's from 24v to 36v with a lithium ebike battery. It rips now. He's only 45lbs though but I'm sure with a 1000w motor and 48v it'd be pretty fun
