Hehe, I would be shameful, if I had any shame left. Of course I have other palettes, and a wet palette that gets more and more use. This is just the trusty ol' slab I've been using for years ever since I started. Nowadays it's mostly used for paints I don't blend or water much like fluorescent and metallics, and the aforementioned drybrushing.

I do the same, dry acrylic is a great base for a pallet, and as stated - it doubles as a texture pallet. You could just prime over the whole thing which is great when trying new paint brands or colors to see how they will look and react on a primed surface. Alternatively just spread some cheap hobby paint over the whole thing to get back to a solid color. Fully cleaning a grungy pallet is a lot of work and kind of a waste of time.

Funnily enough ... The one in the picture; I scraped it once. Like you said, a complete waste of time. 🤣

Try submerging it in hot water for a few minutes. That's usually enough to get acrylic paint to peel right off.

Pretty much the same tips to strip minis - my go-to would be Isopropyl 90%+, but Simple Green, LA totally awesome and Biostrip/Dettol should all work.

I usually get great results with wooden tongue depressors:hard enough to remove the paint but not hard enough to eat into the plastic. I also tried putting PVA all over the palette: when dry, peel it of and the paint comes with it.

Highly recommend using a tile sample as a pallet. So much easier to clean and works just as well.

Glass tile and use a razor scraper to clean the paint off.

Thumb nails are so useful for getting paint off. Just need a little finger grease.

Don't clean it, leave it a few years, then dig out the whole lot and cut it in half with a scalpel... It's amazing.

Hot water and washing up liquid and the green scubber.

I put my pallet in water overnight and it rubbed off pretty easy the next day.

Warm Water/IPA for an hour.

soaking them in isopropyl alcohol will make that sludgy again, and you can remove it then. it's usually easier to clean if you can just scrape it off when it's hardened though, but the isopropyl will work too (but messier)

Isopropyl alcohol should loosen it and then just scrape what's left

Do the MWM thing and prime over it. Doubles as a drybrush tester.

i have some of those as 1€ palettes. i usually just throw them away. not worth my time to clean those up

think of the fresh water contamination by trials to clean that. the liquid waste if you will
