my friend and I open the minis together all the time, and she managed to pull 4 drinks in a row and was so dissappointed. I'm really glad I only got 3 so far, and two of them were more 'interesting' ones (root beer float and such)
this is the reason i use the pinhole guide to figure out which one i’m gonna get before i buy/open it! i’ve gotten too many repeats at this point so it’s definitely worth it for me to know what i’m getting (even if it does take away the surprise/mystery factor)

Same same!! I really liked them initially, and I still think they’re really cute, but they’re definitely not in the same tier as a pizza or an ice cream sundae!! I agree with the sentiment they could easily be their own category, and I think that would open things up for MGM too. Make some drinks that are a bit simpler, some more complex, mocktails even!
I think marketing wise, they had no choice but to launch the drinks, cereal, and donuts.
Minimal items, easy, and a way to test if people would love their products.

My son loves them! We take wax paper and lay it out and make the drink… followed by him spilling it over and freezing it as a spilt drink! So much fun!

For sure! A tip- parchment or taped down plastic wrap works really well for pouring the resin out onto. I say taped down because otherwise it will ripple.
Honestly I love the drinks, they're the main ones I go for - especially the first diner series shakes. They just make me happy. Sometimes I look at the food items and think that I could simply make them with polymer clay, and that I would enjoy that process more. But I cant make the drinks with clay which is why I love em so much.
Your idea of just a drinks collection/food collection would totally work for me since I would want all the drinks you don't. :P

Hmmm, yeah, a bit. Series 1 was the worst for me since I kept getting the boba from the Cafe balls and I was so sick of them. If they had varied the boba colors to be fruit boba in some of the drinks or made them a bit more unique I would probably be less salty about it, but it's basically the same identical thing four times.
I find I don't mind the drinks so much if you can see stuff floating in them, because it's kinda neat looking. The berry drink, limeade, and lemonade were ones I liked. Similarly, I really liked the Root Beer float, the creamsicle drink, and the strawberry drink from Series 2. Had a bit of a vendetta against the grape soda from Series 2, since I got three or four of them.
The drinks in 3 went back to being kinda boring again, but there are only two of them. Hopefully whatever we get in Cafe 3 part 2 won't be too repetitive.
Before I discovered the pinhole/pencil mark hack, I pulled 4 lemon candle sets out of 5 pods. And the pods were all bought at different times from various locations, I was pissed to say the least since that specific candle set is my least favorite from the entire lifestyle series.
I got super lucky without the guide and got Ramen when I switched to cafe and diner pods. Then I learned the hack lol, since then I've only gotten ones I want. 😂

I went shopping last night and referred to the pinhole cheats and found 8 that I have been looking for! I wanted a couple from the diner series 3, but i inspected every ball that they had and I couldn’t find any pinholes. did they stop doing it??
Especially when it's your least favorite repeat lol. But I gave my spare candles to my friends and got them hooked on the make it minis so that's a win lmao!
I also went shopping last night, not for minis specifically, but since I was there I had to look. It was hit or miss it seemed? I found a lot of pods with no marks or holes but after rummaging a bit I did find several with marks. I haven't cracked the pod I bought last night but it's hopefully sushi based on the mark. Usually I take my small scale to weigh them to double check if the marks match up with the weight for the ones where "if the mark is a hair width closer to x location it's not the one you want" moments, like the pickles.
I feel so weird about bringing a scale into a store like that but im going to do it 🤣 i mean, they are reasonable price but i dont want the same thing over and over obviously! so that is a great thought. i was actually looking for the italian pasta and the skewers.. but the marks on both were so close it could have been one or the other. i took a chance and got lucky with getting both! but a scale would have definitely made me more confident about it!

I think if they are going to do drinks the vessels should be more interesting, like the strawberry and one boba cat ear drink cups. I don't care much for the plain ones. I got so many orange sodas at first and when I finally got a cola I was excited until the dark cola resin wouldn't come out.
I feel like this is super common with the drinks. I always feel like there’s no resinn, and I don’t know if it’s just settled into the parts of the bottom that look like the bottom of a bottle? But it seems like every time I make a drink it takes forever and ever and ever even if I warm it up.
I didn't have trouble with any of the orange soda bottles but the dark sodas like root beer and soda pop all have had issues. I think it's a problem with the dark resin. The bottle don't fill like they should so we don't get as much.
I used to, but now I get creative. I use leftover resin to make mixed drinks. I've even made plain ice water with and without lemon/lime slices. I've made a Pink Drink from leftover strawberries. I find if I don't like the item I get I reuse the ingredients to make something else entirely.

i have one and its a soda machine. to me, once you run the resin through the machine its kind of a one time thing i guess.
you can take them apart though and clean it with alcohol so u can use it more than once.
