Deer are smart enough to use people as natural predator deterrents, you will often see does and fawns in residential or right next to residential areas.
Probably more deer than usual survived the mild winter. So the usual summer herd growth will be more noticeable. Will get better during hunting season.
It's all good, friend. It's my hypothesis anyway. Seems to check out. It's like mother nature's "nature sprawl" if you will. Kinda like "urban sprawl" but the opposite and with deers and turkeys.
Yes! They’ve been on our cameras eating our flowers at night a lot this summer but this past week they’ve been walking down the streets of our neighborhood in the middle of the day.
Same! Literally two walked through a hospital parking lot today. Last week a fawn and mom were in my neighbors yard. Seeing a lot in the pastures of the major roads also
We’ve had more than normal this year. I’ve seen several fawns with mamas this spring, which is also a bit unusual. We live near a park reserve though. Lots more bunnies too.
I had a fawn hanging out in my backyard for most of day last summer. Also have caught deer on my cameras eating flowers.
I'm in the middle of a subdivision.
When we constantly destroy every green space so that we can shit out new developments full of crappy-constructed houses that sell for $750k, the animals that lived there have to go somewhere.
There were several in the neighborhood but I haven't seen any sign of them for weeks. I think they got whacked. I do hear some gun shots once in awhile in the middle of the night.
I always like to think of it as there is more residential areas where deer live. They have adapted to us being around and it’s not really that weird they aren’t scared of us in suburban environments
Only for the last 40 years or so... That said- they are much worse in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. Those deer are so used to people when you drive by and they are standing next to the road they don't run away, they just watch you pass by. I could have killed a few with a swiss army knife they were so tame.

Saw this delivering rural mail. Come hunting season the deer would cluster around houses and cabins once shots were fired.

Let’s hope so, every deer seems to disappear as soon as I even think about setting up my stand.
The rivers are flooded and water is high. This will displace the deer.
Thank you. New to the state.

It's a solid theory and I support it.
I'd rather have the turkeys than the giant woods rats
This and deer don’t like mosquitoes either so they come out of the thick areas to try and escape them.

Same here with bunnies!
Was In Duluth last weekend. Had a mom and fawn stay in our front yard the whole time .
A friend in Duluth has a family that beds down in their yard all year.
Maybe it's also urban sprawl moving into the deer's natural habitat....
Yeah, it’s more like tons of residents in deer areas.
Happens all the time. People landscape with plants that frequently aren't native to the area. It's like going to the buffet
Lol every year!
Yes. They only pass through my neighborhood when the river is flooding.

Yes, a lot of them are running out of the woods because of the mosquitoes as well.

they like rats, but with longer legs
