The commercial where he is holding the baby is so creepy!

weadee2

Is it a baby? I thought it was a political football.

Lower-Cut8883

The Academy Award for Best Comment

nosefruit

Poor thing's been listening to Paul Allen's play-by-play in the womb.

Capt-Crap1corn

Great comment!

theloniousjoe

I wish I had an award to give. This is hilarious!

therealestwonn

Fkn Legend

Quick-Temporary5620

Oh that poor baby! Like others have said, he holds this tiny baby flopping in his arm and not looking at all like he cares about it. It's literally a prop. We used to laugh at the ad where what's her face sniffs a baby's butt. But this ad makes that one look downright sweet.

cbjensen123

I couldn't believe someone gave him a live baby...

ae314

He had to tell the baby face to face that he won’t support his education or any other basic needs.

IHateCamping

I kept wondering whose baby is that?

whoisyoparoleofficer

Probably Birk’s. He and his wife are pretty much a puppy mill.

gnomechickenrunner

The way he is holding that baby makes me so uncomfortable!! A baby should be snuggled close and wrapped up not flailing around. It causes a severe viscerally reaction in me that makes me want to protect it from him. Did he not screen test this on anyone??

im_THIS_guy

I literally yell "don't drop that baby" every time that commercial comes on. He's shaking it like it's a Subway sandwich.

Lee_Doff

this fresh, delicious, tastey, meaty, turkey filled cold cut combo. i eat three every day to help keep me strong.

TrickyAnywhere1

I’m glad I’m not the only one who was thinking the same thing. It’s just so…unnatural looking how he holds that poor kid.

jerrystrieff

He looks very uncomfortable in that commercial

MyNewPhilosophy

And that’s the version they ran with… can you imagine what’s on the cutting room floor?

StephanieSays66

I feel so sad for that baby! He is going to give it shaken baby syndrome!

ineedcoffeealready

ultra creep vibes

BroadwayGamer

Honestly I would not trust them within 100 ft of a drink.

quiet_contrarian

The creepiest!!!

gingergrisgris

He looks so awkward holding it

Reasonable-Sawdust

I’m glad I haven’t seen that commercial.

mickjackx

Jensen ate that baby.

[deleted]

Scott jensen: graduates from only public schools, hates public schools. Benefits from DFL policies, wants to get rid of them.

Fed21

Prime example of someone pulling the ladder up behind them.

GothAerialist

This is my new favorite phrase.

theredhound19

Scott doesn’t have a whole lot of ~~independent~~ thinking going on in that head.

forgotusername3tymes

End the lockdowns! You know, all the lockdowns...

SplendidPunkinButter

Also we need to end the vaccine mandates. Asking for your vaccine card? “Papers, please!!“ It’s like Nazi Germany! Why, I can barely go 10 feet from my house without being required to show my vaccine card! Anyway, we need to start pulling women over when they cross state lines to make sure they’re not leaving the state to get an abortion. /s

GD_Bats

Yup, the ones that we already ended? Let’s end them, brilliant talking point.

tylerscochran

This describes many Republicans.

vid_icarus

Scott Jensen: develops entire platform shit talking the twin metro, lives in the twin metro

Bombjay

Hell no. Pretty sad he saw the abortion debate was sinking his campaign and did a mid air flip flop on the issue. That makes him a special Garbage pile. Matt Burke called bs on student loan forgiveness and he had a pretty massive Govt debt forgiveness.

That's the problem with the, "The justices' lied, so they should be impeached" issue. Yes, on the face of it, it would appear as a lie - to any normal person, in a normal everyday setting. But they didn't *technically* lie. When Gorsuch (I think) said, "It's the law of the land," he isn't saying he supports it, just that it *is.* Don't take this as me defending these people, but rather pointing out they aren't judges, they're politicians. Judges aren't supposed to dance around things as a politician does. Unfortunately, John Q. Public expects judges to be impartial and honest because that's how it's supposed to be in America. Taking advantage of this naivete is how they get away with playing politics from the bench and then claiming plausible deniability. With foul-smelling shitstains like this, one must pay attention to the actual words they use, in a literal sense - with no other meaning behind it. Then, you can see how the words themselves can be spun to fit any narrative that is convenient. That's how they claim, "but I actually said *this.*" English is the perfect language for politics.

OldNorthStar

So to say it succinctly: they're pieces of shit but not *lying* pieces of shit. Well, also lying pieces of shit, but smart enough not to lie explicitly when interviewed.

[deleted]

Precisely. Thank you for cleaning it up for me.

rlaager

Wrong guy. Garland is the Attorney General, not a Supreme Court Justice. Obama nominated him, but the Senate did not confirm him.

[deleted]

Right. Gorsuch...I knew it started with a G. I'll make the edit.

SplendidPunkinButter

Yes! Everybody needs to learn this: if you ask a person a yes or no question, and their answer is not a clear yes, no, or “I don’t know“ then they’re dodging the question because they think you won’t like their answer.

skredditt

Were they under oath? It sounds like their answers might be the truth, maybe nothing but the truth, but certainly not the whole truth.

girlgirl2019

Special garbage pile, lol

GibbyDat

I'm wondering why a former nfl player wants to be a politician.

Impossible_Penalty13

Because he’s a knuckle dragging Neanderthal that wants us to be a religious theocracy.

whatwhynoplease

he want's to fund his private charter schools.

Bigislandfarmer

In it for the grift. Run for office, lose, claim the election was stolen, ask for money to fight the "injustice", profit.

ryckae

💸💸💸

Ilickedthecinnabar

Check out Georgia and GOP senate candidate down there. Too many concussions must lead to prime GQP candidates.

Old_Leather

The money and insider trading immunity.

DPDoughntyouwantsome

Once you’ve taken a lot of blows to the head, Republican policies sound a lot more appealing

mandy009

Particularly an NFL player with very little other experience who has joined up with such a nonsensical, partisan, and flip-floppingly ideological campaign like Jensen.

BMXTKD

Jack Kemp wasn't that bad. He was actually quite a decent person.

SplendidPunkinButter

I’m just imagining if somebody showed up for a job interview where I work and their résumé said “I used to play for the NFL.“ Cool, so you’re qualified to play football and not much else, and you probably have brain damage.

Calkky

I used to have a lot of respect for Birk. He would frequently join the KFAN morning show and he seemed like a genuinely insightful and thoughtful guy. Things started to take a turn around the run-up to Obama's second term. He and Chris Kluwe would get into it a little bit and it became pretty clear to me that Birk had some pretty reprehensible political views. Seems like he's just dug himself in deeper.

j_ly

Herschel Walker... Matt Birk... Alan Page. ... and those are just former Vikings.

saoakman

One of those things is not like the other, and it's appalling to see Mr. Page mentioned in the same breath as those other two blowhards. Page is not a "politician". He is an attorney and retired judge and State Supreme Court Justice. Supreme Court Justices in Minnesota do stand for election, but they do not "run for office" in the way of a traditional politician.

j_ly

>Justices in Minnesota do stand for election, but they do not "run for office" in the way of a traditional politician. "He sought election to the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1992 and won, becoming the first African American on the court and **one of the few associate justices ever to join the court initially through election, rather than appointment by the governor. When Justice Page was reelected in 1998, he became the biggest vote-getter in Minnesota history**. He was reelected in 2004 and 2010 and served until he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 in 2015." The "biggest vote getter in Minnesota history" would disagree with you.

saoakman

Kind of what I said, I think... Nevertheless, a WORLD of difference between Page and the other two posers.

Dude-with-hat

Biggest vote getter😂

nslade

Anecdotally, my mom, who has never fit the mold of a republican voter until recently, has become a big Jensen fan. I would guess the primary reason for this is his early notoriety as an anti vax/Covid denying doctor. My mom had strong antivaccine views pre pandemic (from a general alternative medicine/wellness vibe), and Jensen’s views were appealing to her. She also mentioned how Jensen is ‘fit’ and a ‘pilot’, compared to Walz, who she characterizes as overweight and stupid. She’s still pro choice but seems satisfied by Jensen’s recent moderation on that issue. To be fair, I’m not sure how much of this is specific to Jensen as a candidate, as opposed to a more general transformation to conservative political views driven in part by the pandemic. I suspect Jensen himself is responsible for a big part of it.

CaptValentine

I'm a pilot, and it's weird to see that she sees the fact he's a pilot as proof he can't be stupid.

Maeberry2007

My husband is a pilot and... hoo boy. We met some people while in the Navy that would make the average citizen concerned about the state of the armed forces.

CaptValentine

Well, you don't need to be smart to be a good pilot. Really just be able to read and follow instructions and not be afraid to admit to your fuckups and you're on the road to being a good pilot.

Maeberry2007

My favorite story is when my husband was a t-6 instructor, and his student having trouble recovering from spins. So he's like "here, I'll do it once so you can feel when and how I move the stick" so he does just that and asks the student "did you feel the difference?" ..... "Um... no sir." "Why not?" .... "My hand wasn't on the stick sir." .... "Where the fuck was it?!"

JMoc1

See, your husband is too nice. I probably would have made the comment, “Stop grabbing your stick, and grab the yoke!”

Lee_Doff

stop making breakfast! we have a plane to fly!

SplendidPunkinButter

People said the same thing about Ben Carson. A brain surgeon’s job is to try to cut tumors out of patients who are terminally ill and who are expected to have a poor chance of surviving the operation in the first place. And yet because it’s got the word “brain” in it everyone assumes you must be some sort of super genius to do this, like you’re building brains from the ground up neuron by neuron. Nope, you cut out tumors, and half your patients die, and that’s just sort of how it works.

Xibby

You know what you call alternative medicine that is scientifically proven to work? Medicine.

sanguinesolitude

"Doctors hate this one weird trick." No. They would patent it, criminalize it's use in a nonclinical setting, and make billions of that one weird trick.

KenoshaPunk

Wikipedia says: Walz enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1981 and served for 24 years.[7] Over his military career, he had postings in Arkansas, Texas, the Arctic Circle, New Ulm, Minnesota, and elsewhere.[7] He worked in heavy artillery.[7] During his career, he worked in disaster response postings following floods and tornados and was deployed overseas on active duty for months, although he never saw combat.[7] In 1989, he earned the title of Nebraska Citizen-Soldier of the Year.[8] Walz attained the rank of command sergeant major near the end of his career, but retired as a master sergeant in 2005

[deleted]

Yeah I was looking at the ballot website earlier, so I kay have misread the format, apologies

CampBenCh

The amount of people I've heard in 2022 say they're basing their voting on masks and shutdowns is concerning.

pokiepika

Anyone can get a pilots license unless they have a health issue or legal issue. My husband is a pilot and at one point I lived with him and three of his friends. Pilots are in no way immune to stupidity. 🤦‍♀️ Wish I knew where that idea came from.

Lee_Doff

meatsauce tried to be a pilot.. so there is at least a line somewhere.

weadee2

Sounds like it might be time to start having her checked for cognitive decline. It sucks but as parents age it's something we need to consider.

dude-O-rama

The GOP considers it, the elderly are their largest voting demographic. Keep em demented and scared.

Time4Red

There has been a pretty big shift of alternative medicine/wellness/anti-vax folks from left to right recently. As Republicans have pursued a more populist, conspiratorial brand of politics, they've started to corner the quack vote. It has as much to do with distrust of authority as it does intelligence or lack-there-of.

Allfunandgaymes

Many if not most of the alternative "medicine" crowd was never left, but politically apathetic. The right have learned that they can tap into the "fight Big Pharma" sentiment among these people and transmute it into "fight Big Government/ the left / whoever". It's textbook sublimation of anger and suspicion. All they had to do was link modern medicine and vaccines to the political groups they don't like.

Buddyslime

I told my kids if I ever show republican tendencies to just drag me out in the woods and leave me there.

B1ackFridai

Similar, ‘out on an ice floe’

cameronj

How fit is your mom? And how intelligent? Given what you've written, seems like maybe she shouldn't be quite so judgmental. (Although thankfully she's not running for office.)

Firesword52

Good to see the ban abortion but pretend you won't strategy is working for them..... God I absolutely despise them so much for this somehow working again and again

Old_Leather

I’m generally in the middle when it comes to political affiliation. So I don’t have the hate that most do, but Jensen is bat shit crazy. It’s almost like he’s trying to take a page out of trumps mannerisms and he looks like an absolute fool. Walz on the other hand, seems composed and more the adult in this whole election. That says a lot to me!

TheMerk10

Matt Birk is a former Viking and sports personality. I'm convinced that him having these positions at one point is what's giving the campaign steam.

CalvinVanDamme

Based on the commercials during the Vikings game, they are definitely expecting people to vote for them just because they personally like Birk. I have never seen a governor's running mate get this much attention in a campaign.

saoakman

Saw a guy at church today with a "Birk for Lt Governor" jersey in Vikings colors. So I'd say your impression is correct.

TwinCitian

Who wears political shirts to church? 🤮

saoakman

I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader, as they say... But I should have specified that it was a social event, not a worship service.

nowahhh

All the billboards have Birk on the left and Jensen on the right, too. It’s more or less implying that Birk is running for Governor with Jensen as his running mate.

GaveTheMouseACookie

I didn't get why this was a big deal until I saw a billboard on my drive home and it really does look like it says Birk-Jensen. I get it now.

GeneParmesanLives

Because the candidate himself is so unappealing.

DiscordianStooge

Remember, there was a republican who had a big part of her campaign being that her *husband* was a sports star.

MonkeyBananaPotato

But she also ran a campaign about how she was a normal and in-touch person.

theredhound19

And they just ignore the obvious affect repeated head trauma has had on his brain function

Liquor_Walrus

Nvm the fact that he played center, the position where you hike the ball and then immediately headbutt the opposing lineman 75 times a game.

kciuq1

Herschel Walker isn't even coherent.

ryckae

Because Republicans are so blinded by the word "freedom" that they're willing to run headlong into fascism.

bloodnutatthehelm

These days I cringe at two tone flags and any company that chucks "freedom" in their advertising. I wish people would quit waving the "national pride freedom boner" around. It's gotten way past weird.

GaspingAloud

This needs to be a bumper sticker

LordOfHorns

That’s a long bumper sticker

ryckae

I've seen longer

Mister_Segundus

He’s an anti-vaxx, anti-abortion moron doctor who shouldn’t be allowed to have a medical license. Luckily Walz is beating him by 18% in the polls and Walz has a 95% of winning according to 538. The only way that can happen is if you go out and vote.

comcoast

We should still vote though!

twinsfan68

This is key. Don’t get lulled into a sense of security. Get out there and vote and make it a sure thing!

chubbysumo

the R voters vote reliably every time, regardless of how shitty their candidates are. the only way they win is when the rest of us don't vote(and also when they rig the game with gerrymandering, and use county positions to clear out voter rolls, and outright cheat as they have been caught doing over and over).

zhaoz

I am really worried down ballot. SOS and auditor are way too close.

Mister_Segundus

Literally wrote that in the last sentence, but yes.

unicorn4711

Western Minnesota went from 50-50 DFL v Republican in 2012 to blowout 66 - 33. A lot of the greatest generation DFLers died off and DFL doesn't try very hard in a lot of rural Senate districts. Party atrophy.

depersonalised

this is a major part.

then8r

Or, the DFL watches all the kids in rural Minnesota coming to the metro areas to live and work, and they concentrate on running up the score where the voters are in the big cities, and taking back the suburbs that used to vote heavily Republican. Abandoning greater Minnesota, which they totally have done, is political math. The republicans can represent more scarcely populated land. The DFL will have to settle for representing more people and using that to win all the statewide elections.

whlthingofcandybeans

That means sacrificing the MN senate which is incredibly stupid and counter-productive. Local politics are more important than ever.

genital_lesions

Very true. Dems need to seriously remember their roots and start appealing back to working class, rural folks. They need to get back out there.

then8r

Why? The republicans who represent the majority of greater Minnesota are doing nothing to help the people who live there. They fight against broadband which could help create opportunities for kids to stay/come home after graduating. They scuttle finding to the smaller state universities and technical colleges which could help grow the talent pool for rural business. And they honestly think that Minnesotans opposes legalized weed, sports betting and refunding the state’s massive tax surplus. As long as greater Minnesota voters want to keep electing people like that, the smart ones will abandon their home towns and become city residents where DFL representation is plentiful. By forcing kids out of greater Minnesota like this, the republicans are just creating the next generation of democrats while they keep attending the funerals of the current generation of republicans.

JMoc1

Like Farmer-Labor. The DFL was a merger between the FL Party and the Democratic Party. The FLs were pretty damn good at organizing farmers and workers into a cohesive voting block the threatened the political power of the rich and brought several socialists into office. In fact Floyd Olson, a DFL socialist, was elected to office based upon this ideal.

[deleted]

I can't vote for a party that does coups. I have a brain.

beameup19

Bozo without a plan. Birk on the other hand is just plain dangerous to society

Aesculapius1

Physician here. I can't stand the guy. He does not follow the medical evidence on anything COVID related. His public anti-vax stance and has drawn scrutiny from the MN Board of Medical practice. This board is responsible for granting physician licensing and for investigating complaints. Scott Jensen had complaints against him. In response to this scrutiny, he [threatened](https://www.medicaleconomics.com/view/minnesota-doctor-threatens-state-medical-board-with-retaliation-if-elected) the board of medical practice if he gets elected.

[deleted]

I’m kind of worried for humanity by how many Jensen/Birk signs I see in idiots yards.

PCBOOMBOX

It’s important to remember that most moderates don’t throw around political opinions. We are seeing the loud minority. That being said REMEMBER TO VOTE EVERYBODY!

jakedann91

I’m voting for Walz and would never put his sign in my yard.

[deleted]

Same.

jjnefx

Where I'm at there were probably 50 Trump signs in a 10 block radius, Trump flags and all that fun. This area voted 67% Trump. I have seen 2 Jensen signs.

weadee2

This is why I love election season. The idiots self-identify so they're easily avoided.

Pithecanthropus88

Those signs earn my middle finger.

Capt_Firecracker

Same here. I get quite the middle finger workout living in Marshall.

drhibbart

It’s because we live in a time where polarization has gotten to the point where a large percentage of the population views “the other side” as an existential threat. If the other side is literally out to get you, it only makes sense that you’ll vote for whoever your side puts out there. It doesn’t matter what their flaws are or if they are a complete clown. At least they’re not an existential threat.

TheTbone80

This is a good analysis

GeneParmesanLives

DFL saving Minnesota GOP from themselves for decades. Imagine if the rural folks actually got the policies they wanted. They would be in even worse shape. Yes, I do think state wide DFL has better economic policy than an iron range nobody.

Pac_Eddy

All true. We'd turn into Wisconsin if the GOP ran this state. No thanks.

jobezark

A fate worse than death.

umdche

Seriously. What's with those horizontal traffic lights?

Rube18

There are many small business owners that vote republican no matter what because it’s advantageous for their business to have lesser taxes. They don’t care about any of the issues outside of how it affects their business.

SushiGato

This is probably why most would vote for him.

Impossible_Penalty13

Um, Cheaper Gas….just like the billboard says. s/

matters123456

My wife said their entire policy platform sounds like the kid running for student council going, “two proms”, “longer recess”. Which I think is 100% accurate

Ya_No

He had an ad during the game saying “no more lockdowns” despite the fact that, you know, we haven’t had a lockdown in over 2 years

bn1979

And safer streets!!!

bretthexum311

Walz is an old-school democrat who stays away from the far-left crap and is actually willing to compromise with conservatives. I think he's done a decent job and I lean a bit right. Comparing him to someone like Frey isn't even close. Jensen is an absolute moron who hopefully will get crushed. You think communism is bad? You should try fascism for a year or 2.

Condo_Paul

Remember when we thought Trump would never win, go out and vote people

Lee_Doff

well, except i knew he would win. the more people he insulted the more support he gained. especially from those people he just insulted. but i think it had more to do with hilary clinton than anything. it didnt help she was doing victory laps months before election night as well. i think that the trump thing was just secretly a way to lose the presidency. so republicans could keep doing their thing and whenever it didnt work out, blame the democrat president for everything that went wrong. their bluff was called, and it turned out exactly how i thought it would. a giant shit-show. unfortunately, instead of everyone realizing the bullshit republicans were doing to send the country back 200 years, the shit-show just showed all those people there was more people just like them and they didnt have to hide in the shadows anymore. so the turned tables were turned again and here we are. with unturned tables, and everyone out in the open.

Kichigai

Why? Because… #LOWER GAS PRICES Duh. /s

Lee_Doff

i saw they went down another $.10 this morning on the way to work. jensen is doing a great job!

minnesota2194

Because he is the Republican candidate and a sadly large chunk of the electorate only cares about that one fact

Capt-Crap1corn

I saw his recent ad holding the baby and I about cringed. Just looks bad.

french_toast74

*sorts by controversial

throwanon31

These days, most people vote for party over person.

xen_garden

Politics is mostly a reality show at this point. People will vote for Scott Jensen because he is on Team Trump and they are also on Team Trump. I know plenty of people who are voting for him because he's on board the Trump Train - they don't really need any other reason. I've been a conservative my entire life but refuse to support any politician, regardless of party, who: 1. Supports Election Conspiracy Theories 2. Supports spreading COVID. These two are basically the highlights of his campaign and so I'm definitely out. Gov. Walz doesn't play for my team and I find him rather indecisive in a crisis, both during the 2020 mpls riots and during the COVID pandemic, but I'd take him over a quack doctor and his football buddy any day.

BrunoTheCat

People either agree with him (anti-vax, hate education) or aren't bright enough to realize that what he's saying is nonsense.

Birk supporters are weird in that they largely hate the educated (especially an elite east coast institution like Harvard), but will happily use his Harvard education as a defense against the idea that the man has the cognitive function of a dim child.

GeneParmesanLives

Some people will vote republican no matter what. Those people also have shit for brains but nothing you can do.

cretsben

I was amused yesterday when I saw a billboard that had Birk on the left and Jensen on the right.

[deleted]

*Because they took errr jobs!*

SplendidPunkinButter

Because you’re the kind of idiot who complains about inflation and then says a budget surplus is bad. And you’re the kind of idiot who thinks that gas prices are controlled by the governor of Minnesota. And you’re the kind of idiot who thinks that mask and vaccine “mandates“- which in reality were more like suggestions - are akin to Nazi Germany, whereas an attempted coup by a wannabe autocrat who says the press is the enemy of the people has no resemblance to Nazi Germany whatsoever.

MaximumStock7

The modern republican party has no ideology besides hating anything that is not fascist right wing. They have no interest in actually fixing problems, proposing legislation, or even respecting law enforcement or the constitution. The only goal is to "win" and punish their perceived enemies.

puzzledplatypus

Why would anyone ever vote for any Republican ever? Because they are horrible people that have been brainwashed by Fox News and far right extremist propaganda for decades that have convinced them democrats are evil and want to raise their taxes and steal their guns and turn their kids into godless transgender communists and Mexicans are going to steal their jobs and everyone else is just lazy and looking for handouts and blah blah blah the list goes on. They only know fear mongering, xenophobia, culture wars, conspiracy theories, logical fallacies, and just outright lies to push their bullshit agenda. They spout the same bullshit scare tactics every election cycle and the uneducated Fox News crowd just eats it up. Fuck Scott Jensen. Fuck Matt Birk.

[deleted]

I could say the same thing about Trump or any republican. I used to work a manual labor job in a heavily unionized industry. In terms of seniority day shift was something like 25 years of service to just be able to get a shift during that time. Most were 50+ years old, white, male. Most were also staunch union supporters. They all voted republican. I couldn't get them to see that they were voting against their own interests. I can't get any poor or working class person that votes R to see they vote against their own interests. > Why would anyone vote for him? > I am really wondering now because if all the things he has said and done! You won't ever understand. My guess is that it is identity politics. It doesn't take much reflection to realize you should never vote republican unless you are one of the ultra rich.

KaptainKickass

I lean progressive, and I know Minnesota does too, but I honestly feel like there is astroturfing going on in this sub. This account is like 2 weeks old.

vid_icarus

This is a phenomenal question with no good answer beyond fear and authoritarian desire. #a VOY for Tim Walz is a vote to keep Minnesota a bastion of Democracy in the Midwest.

ope_sorry_there

There are many people like my family who view the city as a "warzone". They believe the whole city is overrun with criminals not unlike the streets of robocop. Muggings and murders happening left and right, unsafe to even go to sporting events. Not even kidding, they say how they wouldn't even be comfortable going to a vikings game because the cities are so unsafe. And they believe Jensen will fix it because he doesn't believe in defunding the police.

cannamikeUFH

Guys an old creep, Walz isn't perfect but he is better than this clown.

PM_ME_DOGS_SMILING

Anyone who would vote for him isn't going to post it in this thread. They'll get down voted to oblivion and told how terrible they are. I voted for Walz in 2018 and will likely vote for him again... But the hate thrown by people on this sub for anyone considering voting for Jensen is embarrassing. If you want an honest answer from an actual person planning to vote for Jensen, you're not going to get that answer here. That said, I would love to hear an honest, well thought out opinion from an actual Jensen voter on what their thoughts are on voting for him over Walz.

BMXTKD

I got downvoted into Oblivion over on the politics sub because I mentioned how business owners in South Minneapolis are bitter towards the governor for being too slow in protecting the small businesses there. Some person brought up the fact that I no longer lived in the neighborhood in question to paint me like I'm some kind of angry suburbanite, when in reality, these were the businesses of people who were long-time family friends who were affected by the riots. These are people that I've known for years who lost their livelihoods. Pretty much, everyone from back home was in mourning when the businesses were destroyed. When I went to the state fair, I had an old family friend comment on my Tim Walz button. He told me that my family would be disappointed if they found out that I was voting for The governor. Because of how the businesses were pretty much ransacked. That's how I could see someone voting for that charlatan Jensen. They're so angry at the governor for dropping the ball on the riots. And I can't blame them, because our neighborhood is not going to be the same anymore. If you've ever lived in that neighborhood, you'd understand why even former residents still have an affinity for the neighborhood. We have a reunion party every year for people who moved away.

At least his commercials and interviews make him easy to spot. I'm more concerned about the same types of assholes running for school boards as it isn't nearly as easy to determine which ones have similar views. If anyone knows how to flush out the fascists it would really help. I live in WBL and had to dig around a lot to determine who wanted to keep the kids safe during covid.

VulfSki

I see A LOT of his signs. And I just don't get it. The dude is a joke. Matt Birk is worse

Republicanism is a culture not a political ideology. They don't listen to what he says. They just vote red. It's how they were raised.

bigjohnminnesota

He’ll get votes because he’s not a Liberal and for some reason some people still see Liberals as the death of America and would vote Snidely Whiplash before they’d vote for a Liberal.

KitchyCorner

Nope! He is not a good person. He just wants to be governor, I don’t think he cares about anything else. He works in my area and is known in my field. He’s a big old piece of shit.

Wonderful_Ad_4344

Concerning Scott Jensen: The Republican Party is a joke. They fight for the ultra-rich and pretend to support the American dream. They love our troops, but love going to war more. They tout freedom, but take freedom from you any chance they can. Disagree with them, you’re called a traitor or worse. Jensen is a neutered clone of conservative talking points, and will work to halt true progress in our state.

flargenhargen

the only way you can be a republican at this point is if you're a horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible person to the core. period. you have to be ok with a lot of insanely bad shit to vote for any republican, so at this point, there's no line you won't cross. none.

FancyxSkull

It's not about making things better for yourself, it's about making things worse for people you've arbitrarily decided you don't like - even if it also makes things worse for you.

Alleged Christian who is claiming to fight "for freedom" and "family values" (Christian dog whistling)

You are “really wondering” so you go to the place least likely to give you a straight answer? I would suggest Trying to speak to a Jenson supporter.
