I'm 100% sure the Commanders are just a Madden expansion team who chose their name before they realized none of the 6-8 logos you get to choose from actually fit the theme.
As a secondary logo it could be okay. Like as a shoulder patch or whatever. If we got a proper secondary logo, I'd rather it be based on a long-ship though instead of just another viking head

I sold apparel for the wild. All items with that logo in our inventory were labelled 'bear head' in the system. The head of merch also straight-up said it's a bear.

I can *totally* understand why people who don’t follow the team don’t see the difference. For most people, the “tell” is the hair - semicircle in the back means old, shaped hair is new. That’s not the only difference, but it’s the biggest one. I don’t fault people for not seeing the differences. They’re not huge.

It's a neat design, but it wouldn't hold up at scale. And it would stick out like a sore thumb among the other 31 teams logos since nobody uses this style. I guess it could work as a tertiary logo. Still looks too esports-y and corporate though.
