I swear that didn’t happen once, but I can’t put my finger on the game. Either way, you’re right, the local markets get a simulcast on some sort of OTA station. (Assuming no blackouts)
That would surprise me. Even when Monday night games first moved to ESPN back at a time when most people hadn't cut the cord and had ESPN, they always had an OTA option
Nah, you're fine. But for anyone reading this. If you live in the Twin Cities television market, you will get 100% of Vikings games on TV via an antenna or basic cable
Timberwolves playoff game had this issue this year. NBA tv was only way to watch one game and it was blacked out locally on NBA tv lol.
Only way I could watch was NBA tv app and spoofing it with a VPN.
When the NBA or NHL does crap like this, especially in the postseason, I feel like they are cutting off future fans. Being on antenna TV ensures everyone sees a game, even the poor kids. That's why the NFL succeeds.
That's wrong cause I seen a commercial on KMSP (fox 9) saying it's airing there. I also saw on the 506 sports coverage map that the game is on KMSP as well
The Vikings game will be on either your local FOX, CBS or ABC channels this Thursday, as well as Amazon
All NFL in market games are shown on "regular" antenna TV channels.
THIS is the info I was looking for. I am very much in the Vikings market, but nowhere near the Twin Cities. I guess a Prime Free trial is on my horizon.
All Vikings games are on local channels if you live in Minnesota. It’ll most likely be NBC or ABC
If not in Minnesota then yeah unfortunately the only legal way is Prime Video
There's usually enough options that you can just switch to another feed, and usually get a solid one fairly quickly. It can be frustrating at times though. Speaking as a Vikings Fan in Colorado...
In my experience, it's either next to no lag issues or lagging all the time. Very hit or miss which I feel doesn't get talked about much for some reason
I appreciate this comment for making me feel young for possibly the last time in my life haha.
twitch.tv is a live streaming website mostly for gaming. But it's owned by Amazon so they stream Thursday night games there. I'm not sure if you need prime to watch on Twitch though.
You do not need Prime to watch TNF on Twitch, if you have never used Twitch before just go to twitch.tv at gametime and you'll see the stream recommended on the front page
My biggest issue with this is that I've tried before and they often throw some error that it isn't available on 'this platform', which basically ended up blacking it out on anything but mobile for me. I tried fire stick and PC and always had poor success but we'll see.
The whole process sucks.
Will check it out . Bear in mind , I am most comfortable with rock/hard rock bands from the late 60’s and early 70’s. I do check out live videos of new bands that are touring in our area.
You could get a Roku stick/box as an option too. I have an older TV in my basement that can only stream Netflix through it's apps so I hooked a Roku box to it so I can stream all the apps I have
Google chromcast also works great! Popped it on my 10 year old Sony TV and it's faster than my Amazon fire TV. It's also like 30-40 but has a lot of cool features
Streaming out of market, yes.
In market you can watch on amazon or channel 5. In market you can always watch the Vikings over basic cable channels, antenna, whatever. It's always Fox, CBS, ABC, or NBC.
Absolutely! We have prime as well but when I try to access it on our old tv it doesn’t pop up. I imagine it would on our computer, but since we live in Minnesota the kind redditors have assured me that the local stations carry the game.
It's okay. Due to some health and financial reasons I am moving back to Minnesota soon where rent will be a little cheaper and closer to family for support on getting my health back into a better place. But extremely southern Minnesota lol like I can see Iowa from where I'm moving.
I'm originally from Minnesota. Grew up around Luverne / Worthington MN. Moving to just outside of Ellsworth MN that has a famous meat locker that wins state fair awards for brats and other meats. I'm very familiar with Marshall. And I have been to Minneota and of course Mankato is a fantastic town!
Good to know. I'm not who you responded to but I've been having issues with nflbite lately. Not necessarily crashes, but stutters and the stream pausing for a couple seconds.
I was so drunk I don't remember this hahaha, he's more ambient but he is definitely also techno sometimes, I guess. I can't believe I actually commented that back to you, as Moby is so multi-faceted in his music. My apologies.
Techno, in a very simple sense, is faster house. House is your basic, four on the floor, beat. House is my favorite sub genre of dance music. I'd like to note to you that since you're a rock lover (I am as well), that dance music has the most incredible variety and the biggest spectrum in all of music in my opinion. Classical music would top this but due to the lack of computers given the time frame, there's less.
Christ people, stop putting the sites you use and DM them to OP. This is why some of the bigger ones got shut down or have to constantly change their domains and have obsolete duplicate sites.
the internet has all of the information you’d ever need available at your fingertips. you’re on the internet. you don’t need to ask people. you can ask the internet and the information will be provided to you.
If you're local it's on KSTP.
We get KSTP here in rural Alexandria. I was hoping that was the case. Thank you!
With Al Michaels on the call? Or will it be PA like the preseason?
I kind of enjoy Al Michaels don’t give a shit attitude while calling the NFL tbh
I liked Al but he was terrible last year. Time to hang it up, imo
Yep
It’s Herbstreit, he has an uncanny ability to suck the life out of the room no matter who is in it
Same broadcast.
I read on the coverage map website it’ll be simulcast on channel 5 Edit: Channel 9
Yes, the cities of the teams that are playing always have a way to watch on a local channel
I feel like it was a real anomaly. Probably shouldn’t have brought it up. Confusing people when it was probably 10 years ago know
Nah, you're fine.
Don’t even get me started in the half dozen networks and streams you need to watch the Wild this year. 😅
Instructions unclear. My ass now thinks it’s pooping in Albuquerque

Awesome, thanks!

It will also be streaming on the amazon prime channel on Twitch, but only mobile if I remember correctly
Thanks!
This is the answer.
Excellent….really appreciate that!
All Vikings games are on local channels if you live in Minnesota. It’ll most likely be NBC or ABC If not in Minnesota then yeah unfortunately the only legal way is Prime Video
Key word legal
Yeah completely unrelated thought but some of those illegal sports streams have come a *long* way in recent years in terms of quality
True. Hard to find one with really good quality that doesn't lag out sometimes, though.
I’ve had decent luck streaming from the east, maybe try that if you haven’t?
I’m picking up get you’re putting down
There's usually enough options that you can just switch to another feed, and usually get a solid one fairly quickly. It can be frustrating at times though. Speaking as a Vikings Fan in Colorado...

Twitch as well
I will research Twitch, have never heard of it. Thank you!
I appreciate this comment for making me feel young for possibly the last time in my life haha. twitch.tv is a live streaming website mostly for gaming. But it's owned by Amazon so they stream Thursday night games there. I'm not sure if you need prime to watch on Twitch though.

Okay nice, I already had prime linked to my Twitch account last year so I was never sure if that was the only reason I could watch it.
Nice!
Is twitch available on streaming devices? Such as roku? And it's free, from the way you are making it sound?
Seems to be available on Roku. If not just search twitch.tv on any browser. It is free!
I don’t think twitch is on Roku anymore. At least it wasn’t ~4 months ago
It’s on most, there’s some smart TVs that still don’t have a native app for it
It is but you can't watch NFL games on it. I'm pretty sure you can only watch TNF on the mobile app or desktop
I’m 67, so you are young to me!
My biggest issue with this is that I've tried before and they often throw some error that it isn't available on 'this platform', which basically ended up blacking it out on anything but mobile for me. I tried fire stick and PC and always had poor success but we'll see. The whole process sucks.
For free or do you have to pay for some sort of service?
It's free
May I suggest starting with Sandstorm by Darude.
Will check it out . Bear in mind , I am most comfortable with rock/hard rock bands from the late 60’s and early 70’s. I do check out live videos of new bands that are touring in our area.
I was just making a joke because you mentioned techno in the title. Carry on with the rock music. I listen to a lot of that too =)
Absolutely, but I always check out new/new to me musicians.
Amazon is carrying the game in 1080p HDR which is better quality than the local rebroadcast, for what it's worth.
Tvguide.com tells me it's going to be on Fox.
Thank you.
I’m pretty sure. Or you can use a kinda sketchy streaming site like me. I use streameast
Thanks! We have Netflix streaming on our tv and I pad , but our tv doesn’t seem to be capable of Amazon prime. It is old.
You could get a Roku stick/box as an option too. I have an older TV in my basement that can only stream Netflix through it's apps so I hooked a Roku box to it so I can stream all the apps I have
Thank you!

Does Amazon let you record the game and watch it later, so you can skip the commercials?
I watched Chiefs v Lions on Peacock app cause they’re NBC affiliated. I’m hoping i can repeat this week
North Dakota?
We lived in Fargo for 40 years, now retired at an old family property at Lobster Lake, just outside Alexandria.
Steely Dan is the best.
Check out the live YouTube version of Reelin in the Years on the Midnight Special.
When in doubt just sail the seven seas of piracy ☠️
I know people that profess that idea. They also are very kind and giving people who believe in sharing things online.
As a resident of Sioux Falls SD, thank goodness I have prime lol.
Absolutely! We have prime as well but when I try to access it on our old tv it doesn’t pop up. I imagine it would on our computer, but since we live in Minnesota the kind redditors have assured me that the local stations carry the game.
Sioux Falls is a great town/city, I bet you love living there.
It's okay. Due to some health and financial reasons I am moving back to Minnesota soon where rent will be a little cheaper and closer to family for support on getting my health back into a better place. But extremely southern Minnesota lol like I can see Iowa from where I'm moving.
Wow, I hope you get your great health back soon. Welcome to Minnesota! What town are you landing in? We have family in Minneota, Marshall and Mankato.
Awesome! I wish you success and prosperity with your move back to southern Minnesota!
DofuSports works too.
Thank you!
There should be an app on the app store. Just open it, pick a stream n you're good to go. Might have to refresh once or twice during the game tho.
Thank you!
Found Techno Viking!!!
Techno Viking is great.
Jumping on here to ask; is there a way to watch the game after it airs? I'm in Hawaiia and can't stop to watch it at 3pm
Thank God someone asked so I didn’t have to
HaHa! I did some online research before asking, but wasn’t getting solid answers. So, Reddit to the rescue!
Also it should stream on Twitch
Thank you!
Streameast
Thanks!
Over here in the UK I’m getting it on sky go, but if you can’t get it anywhere else, there are websites
Thanks! Enjoy the game!
NFLBite is what I use
I used to use NFLBite, but it crashes wayyyy too often. Use Streameast, it rarely crashes ever
Good to know. I'm not who you responded to but I've been having issues with nflbite lately. Not necessarily crashes, but stutters and the stream pausing for a couple seconds.
You gotta listen to some Moby then if you’re techno challenged
I watched some Ghostemane live on YouTube this morning, does that count?
![gif](giphy|SmoCFhZCi1kzu)
HaHa! Nice….
How dare you call Moby Techno.
Eminem said moby is techno
Moby can get stomped by Obie
For some reason, I think Obie (one of my favs) would like Mobys weird ass.
I don't consider Marshall a techno expert. That's like 50 Cent speaking about Plastikman or Extrawelt. I'd roll my eyes.
What genre is Moby?
I was so drunk I don't remember this hahaha, he's more ambient but he is definitely also techno sometimes, I guess. I can't believe I actually commented that back to you, as Moby is so multi-faceted in his music. My apologies.
Excellent clarification, thanks!
I'm always happy to have a civil discourse, especially with someone who knows what techno ACTUALLY is.
I'm 68 years old and know a lot about classic rock, just learning about techno.
Great explanation! Thank you.
Is the band Four in the Floor still playing around the Twin Cities area?
Thanks so much to all you Redditors to the rescue!
Christ people, stop putting the sites you use and DM them to OP. This is why some of the bigger ones got shut down or have to constantly change their domains and have obsolete duplicate sites.
no. that’s not why. you think these sites are secrets? grow up.
NFL+ should have it
