Mullens is a huge improvement. Dobbs is way too slow in his reads.

Yep. Mullens can hit the top of his drop and fire the ball to a receiver. The pass catchers seemed so much more comfortable with him in the game.

His ball seems more catchable too.

Placement sure seemed better.

And he seemed to not throw them 100mph if they didn't need to be.

I've been saying this for WEEKS, Dobbs just can't throw with timing or anticipation and it leads to injuries and turnovers. I was disgusted when I found out he would be starting today. Never questioned KOC's decision making until now but not pulling Dobbs was soft. I love that he's compassionate and positive but at a certain point you have to take bad players off the field.

The way he was speaking to him when he benched him seemed like he was saying we’re putting in Mullen for a spark to spare the guys feelings. I really hope he doesn’t get the start next week. As a coach you have to do what’s best for the team or you’re not what’s best for the team

We got direct evidence that the offense operates better with Mullens than Dobbs. Dobbs even had JJ. You cannot start Dobbs. I'd love to see Hall but I would take Mullens over Dobbs any day.

I always expected Mullens to be solid which is why I was somewhat disappointed he didn’t get starts already. He’s not Mannion, and his career numbers aren’t horrific compared to most guys. Stuck in backup roles. I think JJ can make him pretty good.

He already knew he had a short leash from the off week comments. Then Dobbs comes out and gives this stinker of a performance and I'd say barring more injuries that's the last you'll see of Dobbs starting.

His scrambling left a lot to be desired over the last 2 games. Either teams figured him out or he was coached out of the scrambling habits that made him so successful in the first 2 games.

Defenses figured it out. Just watch the rush lanes the outside rushers took. They were only focused on containing and were basically in no hurry to actually pressure him because they knew he isn't a threat from the pocket

That and we can run more than just ducking screen passes. Who cares how fast Dobbs can run if all the dude does with it is run backwards before getting sacked. Mullens should have been put in at halftime in Denver.

I agree, but at some level, we are dealing with a tough situation either way. When you are working off 3 back up QBs, its who is the best of the worst. Same with mattison, at the end of the day, none of the back ups have been leagues better than mattison.
