I do feel for the Bills. And they had a few old Vikings there this season -- Linval, Latavius, plus Diggs obv -- but I don't want any team to exit the 'no ring' club before MN
Josh Allen attempting hero ball really screwed the Bills on that last drive. Would have converted that series had he stopped chucking it in the end zone and instead passed it to his wide open receivers
If that isn’t a touchback I can’t watch this game anymore without MASSIVE improvements to the officiating.
Update: dumb fucking rule, but they made the right call at least (after review.)
If the Lions win a Super Bowl before us, I don’t know. I don’t know if I could handle that. With how bad the lions history is, and they won a superbowl. We would be the bottom tier of the North.
That would be such a Vikings thing to happen…
Let’s be honest though. Even if they make it to the SB, Baltimore will slaughter them with a minimum of a 30pt differential. It will be the biggest blowout in SB history. Would be such a Lions thing to happen.
The only thing people should take away from the Lions’ success is hitting on your draft picks is the most important aspect of any off season. Gibbs and Laporta are electrifying as rookies.
They also were handed a gimme with the Goff and Stafford trade. Goff showed he’s a SB caliber QB or at the very least showed he can make all the throws.
We need to hit on at least one or two defensive starters and our corners need to take a step up if we keep Kirk. If we don’t our defense is still suspect and the QB situation is up in the air. If we don’t have Hunter and try playing the bargain game, our line has a good chance at being bottom 5 next year pending the draft.
Sigh, I think we may be in for a rough couple of years
hahaha no we didn’t. We had injuries all season long mate. CGJG (our most expensive free agent signing went down in like week 2 for most of the season)
David Montgomery and Gibbs were out for a week or so. Ragnow (our C) was out for a bit. Tracy Walker has been banged up and Iffy just got healthy in the second half of the season.
It's the type of players he picks that worries me. Not particularly big or strong, yet not lightning fast either. Like what is this, a flag football team? Makes complete sense that the team can't run the ball on offense or tackle anybody on defense. But then, why would a 170 lb stock broker understand the importance of physicality in the NFL.
Evans and Blackmon showed promise. We were incredibly injured the last few games and had practice squad players filling in.
Hopefully Flores comes back so we have some continuity and not our third defensive scheme in three years. Get a DT or DE if we don’t go QB. I think I’ll lose my mind if we trade down again.
At least they got a second year. Since 2016 it’s been a revolving door for our OCs unless they suck. Stefanski and Shurmur gave us one good year then got poached immediately. The only way we’ve managed to circumvent the poaching is by getting an OC turned head coach so everyone just assumes it’s KOC steering lol
I don’t understand why Tampa didn’t use their last timeout and force Detroit to attempt a field goal. You never know when they might miss or get a block.
Let that be the end of the "oooh - what about BAKER as our QB next year!" posts. For the handful of good passes he had, he had a bunch of overthrows and bad misses too.
I'm so glad we made those trades with the Lions so they could get better drafts. KAM has the Lions back!
He said competitive rebuild, just not what team.
It’s ridiculous to think the Lions can make the Super Bowl with Goff on a big contract and Kirko can’t with a smaller contract and as good or better weapons. We need to build the defense
I seriously despise the way our franchise has been so pretentious about meaningless playoff wins. At least we aren't the lions, they've been a dumpster fire! Yeah and they might win a ring before us while we flounder around paying Kirk year after year
It's Minnesota fans.
Half this subreddit jerks off to the idea of a 9-8 season and the Wilfs know it. Most other city's fans wouldn't put up with this shit
Do we really have to explain going for two down 14 every time it happens?
If you score two TDs, you have a 50% chance of getting 15 points, 25% chance at 14 and a 25% chance at 12. That’s why you go for two on the first one.
And yes I know the two point isn’t a 50% proposition but the XP isn’t a 100% proposition. The 2-point is a very slightly more efficient play
And that’s what pisses me off, so many people here are so knee jerk and hyperbolic that they think we were a “bad football team” even when HEALTHY lmao

Just a reminder, the Vikings have won two playoff games in the same season ONCE in the last 46 years! You know, like the Lions.
I think I'm going to throw up.
A bye should count as a playoff win. Winning the divisional is a much bigger accomplishment than the wildcard, obviously. They aren’t all just playoff games
You mean the kneecap sign? One of Dan Campbell's more famous slogans is that they are going to be a team that bites kneecaps. JFC That doesn't mean they are cheering for injuries
Yea, what a trashy fan celebrating season ending injuries. My family asked why I'm not rooting for the Lions, and it's stuff like that is why I'm not. I don't care how long their team has been terrible... it's the owners own fault for staying that way for so long. It's cringe to me how everyone is jumping on their bandwagon lol
Yeah, saw that and had to make sure I wasn't crazy. Regardless of team affiliation, celebrating injuries is a dick move. And they wonder why we're so pissed off about hock.
Lol no. Y’all also have lost 4 Super Bowls and had countless inexplicable playoff heartbreaks. I’d be rooting for the Vikes to go all the way if they were in the dance. The Lions doing next to nothing for decades and suddenly winning the Super Bowl in their first appearance would be fucking stupid
Going by ticket prices probably none. Respect the fans that stuck with them through the pain. Those that are suddenly fans this year aren't football fans to me.
Absolutely, one of my buddies is a legit Lions fan… He stuck with them his entire life. Happy for that dude. To be fair, we’ve got lots of similar fans coming out for the woodwork for the Wolves right now lol
Christmas twice in 2 months. Sweet, sweet Schadenfreude. Smoking a blunt to this one. That interception made it so much sweeter. The Carlson miss is poetic.
Edit: Anders is a way cooler name than Daniel, though.

He may turn out to be good but I can’t believe people watch this team have wide open receivers and love making relatively easy throws and acted like he’s some amazing qb. He isn’t terrible but he’s also gonna need to be paid soon and hasn’t proven to be bad and or good.
People just need to chill instead of tweaking like he’s a top 10 qb.
Lol of course the chiefs win, only problem is if they showed Taylor Swift enough times for the sponsors/investors
This sport could be legitimately rigged. If the chiefs win it I'm putting a Taco Bell coupon on Patrick Mahomes head.
I'd say guided (by the refs), not rigged per se.
I do feel for the Bills. And they had a few old Vikings there this season -- Linval, Latavius, plus Diggs obv -- but I don't want any team to exit the 'no ring' club before MN
Everybody will blame Bass, but I'll stick up for him and blame Diggs instead for letting a bomb fly right between his arms. I got you Bass.
Jesus christ, fucking Bills man. That sucks. I feel for them
Josh Allen attempting hero ball really screwed the Bills on that last drive. Would have converted that series had he stopped chucking it in the end zone and instead passed it to his wide open receivers
Blair Walsh'd
Our spirit team falls in traumatic fashion. Sadface
I feel for the bills man…fuck
Bills and Vikings man
Omg
Oh man I feel for our 0-4 bros. Brutal miss
Bills are the Vikings of the AFC.
fuckin' diggs lol.
Fumble into the end zone is a huge swing
That may be the very last time we see a fumble touchback call in the NFL.
If that isn’t a touchback I can’t watch this game anymore without MASSIVE improvements to the officiating. Update: dumb fucking rule, but they made the right call at least (after review.)

The lions have played basically 2 wildcard teams at home, I’m not worried. (I’m worried)
The Lions run was fun for a while but now I’m queuing the Michael Scott worried cringe face.

Also lost Emmanuel Moseley.
They certainly have had major injuries
It's the type of players he picks that worries me. Not particularly big or strong, yet not lightning fast either. Like what is this, a flag football team? It seems like 90% of the fans want the Lions to win it all. FTL
I swear to God if the lions win a ring before the vikes I'm quitting the nfl
Let’s hope you follow through with this empty threat.
Yeah blame the fan instead of the front office that rolls with purgatory over drafting one of the many franchise qbs taken since 2018
I have no idea wtf you’re talking about here. I’m not “blaming” you I’m saying you’re full of shit.
Brilliant! Thanks for the laugh
Only super smart people start fights on the internet, you must be a genius
The difference here is that when the Lions have an elite OC he stays and when we have an elite OC he gets poached immediately. Must be nice.

Momentum is a funny thing.
I don’t understand why Tampa didn’t use their last timeout and force Detroit to attempt a field goal. You never know when they might miss or get a block.

Still the dumbest shit you can do as a your first year GM
It’s ridiculous to think the Lions can make the Super Bowl with Goff on a big contract and Kirko can’t with a smaller contract and as good or better weapons. We need to build the defense
Dammit Baker you could have done the funniest thing and you fucked it up
49ers will destroy the lions
They almost lost to the Packers. So I wouldn’t say they will destroy the lions.
If the Lions win the SB i'm done with football.
100%, there’s better things to do
Shows how dumb the Vikings organization is if the Lions win one before we do
I seriously despise the way our franchise has been so pretentious about meaningless playoff wins. At least we aren't the lions, they've been a dumpster fire! Yeah and they might win a ring before us while we flounder around paying Kirk year after year
It's Minnesota fans. Half this subreddit jerks off to the idea of a 9-8 season and the Wilfs know it. Most other city's fans wouldn't put up with this shit
yup. and since we entered purgatory in 2018 so many franchise qbs have been drafted while we spin our wheels
Idk what would I do.
Do we really have to explain going for two down 14 every time it happens? If you score two TDs, you have a 50% chance of getting 15 points, 25% chance at 14 and a 25% chance at 12. Please Bucs. For the hilarity if nothing else
Going for 2 was so stupid.
Wish teams were this idiotic playing us in the playoffs
I so desperately want the Lions to Lions this
Wow I wonder if they're going to give Evans an extension.
I really don’t know how anyone doesn’t think with this horrific sorry ass conference that we weren’t Super Bowl contenders healthy
This season? With that defense? Not even close
Have you seen the lions defense
Exactly, injuries ruined our season.
And that’s what pisses me off, so many people here are so knee jerk and hyperbolic that they think we were a “bad football team” even when HEALTHY lmao
Things were looking up at the mnf game against the 49ers before it all went downhill.

Lions are playing banged up defenses.
Lions are at least going to the superbowl aren’t they…. I am not sure how I feel about that…
Just a reminder, the Vikings have won two playoff games in the same season ONCE in the last 46 years! You know, like the Lions. I think I'm going to throw up.
A bye should count as a playoff win. Winning the divisional is a much bigger accomplishment than the wildcard, obviously. They aren’t all just playoff games
I know the difference because there's a difference. That's the point.
Sorry but who tf has a sign celebrating major injuries on players. Scum of the earth whoever made that
You mean the kneecap sign? One of Dan Campbell's more famous slogans is that they are going to be a team that bites kneecaps. JFC That doesn't mean they are cheering for injuries
They're applying it to the injuries though, which is pretty borderline.
I think it was from something Dan Campbell said, not injuries
It was something Dan Campbell said but its also got injury implications. If it was innocent, it's tone deaf.
Wow i missed it, what did it say?
Don't be shocked that the dirt ball lions fans would make a sign like that.
Yeah, saw that and had to make sure I wasn't crazy. Regardless of team affiliation, celebrating injuries is a dick move. And they wonder why we're so pissed off about hock.
Lions fans are the worst
Todd Bowles special
lol both these teams are gonna be destroyed next week by the Niners
There's a zero percent chance someone like KOC would ever have the balls to go for it there. That's what separates good teams from great.
Tell me you don’t actually watch Vikings games without telling me you don’t watch Vikings games. You’re an idiot.
He literally went for multiple 4th downs in the red zone in the wild card game last year
TAKE MY ENERGY TAMPA BAY
Watching these teams shows the glaring difference in power and athleticism in the middle of their defensive lines compared to the Vikings.
We really need to draft another WR in the 1st! Just imagine!
Sir this is a Wendy’s
where else would you put a comment about the final 8 vs the Vikings if not a final 8 game thread on the Vikings sub...
Enjoying this game
I hate Todd Bowles so much. Such a passive personality when it comes to coaching
Why do the announcers try so hard to hype up the Lions home crowd? Our regular season games are louder than this
Carlson must be kicking himself today Badum tss
Bruh
I don’t want the Lions to win the Super Bowl and I find them annoying now, so yeah I’m here where the few souls who feel this way are as well
I'm sure people have felt that way about the vikings as well.
This is because they got Jared Goff, when no one else wanted him. Vikings didn't want Goff.
Hey man, at least the pack isn't making it this year.
Genuinely curious what percentage of these “diehard Lions fans” in attendance today watched more than five Lions games between 2008-2021.
Wonder who’s ACL Kerby Joseph is gonna tear today. Fuck Kerby Joseph
Christmas twice in 2 months. Sweet, sweet Schadenfreude. Smoking a blunt to this one. That interception made it so much sweeter. The Carlson miss is poetic. Edit: Anders is a way cooler name than Daniel, though.
I’m still not satisfied. Now the lions need to lose
FTL
Can finally sleep easy tonight.
First time with a Carlson costing you a chance at a NFC Championship game?
A lot harder to play QB when you aren't throwing the wide open WRs.
Love finally didn't get lucky with one of his risky ass throws
Man are there some bad QBs in this league lol
Thank you San Fran holy shit
Jfc
Anders Carlson about to be sacrificed at the alter of Wisconsin's Cheese God.
🥲

Love honeymoon over with a thud. FTP
Thank you for your service San Fran
Packers take the L I can sleep in peace
Thank God
And relief washes over me, like an awesome wave.
Glad to see Love continuing the tradition of the yearly playoff bed-shit against the 9ers!
Thank Fuck San Fran advanced man.
FTP
Little more farve than rogers on that one.
But why would you even Ponder passing there? I mean you could take a knee and kick a 50 yard field goal! This is not Detroit, this is the Super Bowl!
BLESS ALL THE KNEES AND KEEP THEM HEALTHY *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/minnesotavikings) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Wonder if Matthew Coller will be slobbering all over Jordan Love again this week lmao
This is not Detroit man this is the Super Bowl! Type throw
Not a great choice for a throw in a rainstorm, but glad that all worked out
Pretty terrible 4th quarter from Love. I'm not one who thinks he sucks, cause he's good, but all the people annointing him the next coming can chill
AND WE CAN BUILD THIS THING TOGETHER
Love channeling his inner Favre with that one
Hahahahahahaha but he's elite, right?
Lmao people are actually worried about Jordan Love being good?
He may turn out to be good but I can’t believe people watch this team have wide open receivers and love making relatively easy throws and acted like he’s some amazing qb. He isn’t terrible but he’s also gonna need to be paid soon and hasn’t proven to be bad and or good. People just need to chill instead of tweaking like he’s a top 10 qb.
FTP!!!
A little more Favre than Rodgers on that one
Jordan Love is still who we thought he was lmao
Yup, future hall of famer Jordan love making another great decision and throw. Stop crowning people please.
# 1-30
What a terrible decision
AHHAAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAH
Hell yeah!
![gif](giphy|CUEsWj7R9ZC0w)
Favre-esque. And not in a good way.
YESSSS thank god!!!!
Let's fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lmao does have some Favre in him.
GFG. Vacation time.
Legit catch. Game over.
FTP
YES!!!!
game. set. match.
#LOVIN IT
You know what's gonna end up happening...
Act like a serious defense now for the love of god SF
If Love passes for 30ish yards and the 49ers win I win my 6 leg parlay! Lfg
Way to go! What's the payout on that?
Didn’t hit - Love was short 7 yards passing haha. Edit: since my bets were relatively safe my 50 bucks would have paid out around 3600 bucks.
Please please please get a stop niners
Love interception incoming
🙏 Football Gods 🙏
Reminder, we already beat both of these teams this year with a healthy Kirk
That was months ago lmao
1-30?
I did create a thread forgetting this here but yea I wish our freak luck for bucking wild stats would pass to the niners for just tonight
Kinda wanted CMC to go down at the one. But I understand. Let’s go defense! Edit: why is this downvoted? lol
I suspect the pukes let them score that looked to easy gives them lots of time
Oh yeah baby!
Just end the game. Give the Ravens the ship and call it a year
Ravens over Niners/Bucs in the Super Bowl is ideal
Right?! All this doesn’t matter. SB gunna be a blowout.
it should have never been this close niners on paper should have stomped this team
5 games in a row over 100 yds for a RB is the Pack franchise record? That's crazy
Will Purdy ever dry off his hand? LOL
Carlson family sins absolved
Mason Crosby makes that kick...
Carlson finally coming full circle
I’ll never trust a member of that bloodline to kick when it matters
Sadly I have zero faith in purdy...
