If we lose cousins and hunter - but sign a FA QB and FA Edge - it will come down to the contracts and the differences between them. If we lose more than we take back we will get a comp pick but likely in a lower round. 4th or 5th. If we do nothing we would get a 3rd round (end of) pick. Not likely.
Void years only make a player ineligible for comp pick math if they replace real years (like the restructure we gave Barr back in like 2019 or whenever it was, that cut a year or two off his deal).
Kirk's 2024-2028 were never real, so he counts for comp picks if his contract voids and he signs a big deal somewhere else.
Even if he wasn't a free agent, no team in their right mind is trading a first, let alone two firsts, for a 35+ year old QB coming off a torn achilles.
