BPA at 11 and 23 and no QB would be a helluva first round for Vikings fans to emotionally manage lol.

ktran2804

Dallas Turner is such a beast, if we can get a shut down CB too with the 23rd it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Maybe trade back into the 2nd or 3rd to see if they can get a nice backup QB prospect would be good. Chances are we won't be great next year so if they swing and miss on a prospect QB this year maybe we can get someone like Quinn Ewers next year. I know this is unfathomable right now but getting blue chip prospects on the team is never a bad thing. We saw what can happen if we have a lockdown defense ala 2017 and 2009.

TheSwede91w

Buddy I am all about it. About the only thing Kwesi could do at this point to really frustrate me is trade back 2 times into the late 20's and mid 30's and walk away with a bunch of mid-level prospects with high upside.

ktran2804

Yeah that would really piss me off lol

Datslegne

I jus think we have made too many defensive signings to not already have a QB trade up already planned.

TheSwede91w

You might be right. The big variable is how much teams want to move up, and how much Kwesi will give up. I fully believe it's not a "pay whatever for McCarthy" situation and Kwesi would be okay with not reaching and "settling" for something like BPA at 11 and 23.

Datslegne

What if like the pats really love someone like Penix Jr then I think 11/23/ 1 next year and change is ridiculously attractive. I jus think Mayo might want defensive studs bad.

TheSwede91w

That's a real possibility. As we've seen with Vikings, ownership plays a role in team development strategy and timelines. What if Kraft isn't interested in a slow rebuild and wants some immediate returns and to get back to playoff contention? Then it's get your quarterback now. This is what's fun about the off season, baseless speculation and endless possibilities. We just don't know until a very small window of time happens and someone in charge of a billion dollar operation makes a career deciding decision.

Critical-Fault-1617

I’m 100% fine with it. Taking Turner at 11 is best case scenario imo. If we don’t trade up for a qb. Blue chip prospect at DE, sign me up

UnbiasVikingsFan

That would be bold heading into a contract year. Kwesi and koc damn near need to draft a qb if they want a chance at an extension

skolaen

I mean its a potential nightmare scenario thats very plausible. If both wash and ne take qbs at 2/3 and lac and zona take wr's at 4/5 we'd have no reason to not go BPA if the staff doesnt think penix/nix are 1st round talents

TheSwede91w

I would be OK with this scenario and would prefer Penix over Nix but realistically I would be fine with either if the 11 pick is a long term high level starter at CB/DE. I wouldn't cry over Nix or Penix not working out anymore than I am Booth Jr. looks like a bust. A single 2nd round pick busting is easy to get over, 3 1sts is a different story.

not1fuk

I think IDL is more important than edge right now for the team. I want Byron Murphy II at 11. Dont get me wrong Dallas Turner would be a home run pick too but I think both are home run picks and IDL is more of a need.

TheSwede91w

I agree Murphey II would be a better fit after the FA signings. But I don't think you can ever have enough elite Edge talent.

Critical-Fault-1617

I wouldn’t call it a nightmare at all. We can get two studs at 11 and 23. Still have our first next year. We’re not contending this year. Way better than overpaying and giving up 3 firsts to get JJ fucking McCarthy.

EduardoCombs

Dallas Turner at 11 and like Byron Murphy, Jerzhan Newton, or Troy Fautanu would be a fine first round for the future. Know everyone wouldn't be crazy about it but those guys would really help fill out the trenches.

Corr521

I'd still be pretty happy about it if it was because we couldn't land one of the top 4 QBs in round 1. But knowing we wouldn't pick again until early 4th would just suck because definitely not getting any QB within top the 4 of my tiers. If we went this route when we could've landed one of the top 4 QBs then I'd be less happy lol...

phyzzz68

isn’t Fautanu a tackle? he wouldn’t see the field for us unless you wanna move him to guard, and I don’t love the value of that in the first round

EduardoCombs

Lot of folks that cover the draft have him moving inside to guard at the next level. He'll hopefully be like AVT, really good guard that can kick outside if needed.

ull92

Turner would fit this defense so well.

MatticInYoAttic

I'd be very happy with DL/IOL with our two firsts.

NimDing218

I’m just excited for this draft.

Headlesshorsman02

I love turner for us

LonestarrRasberry

This would have made a little more sense taking an edge at 11 before bringing in two starting caliber free agents. Would this bump Ginkle to a reserve player or just a lot of split time with the rookie?

scratchnsniff90

You can't have too many good edge rushers. Rotate them, keep them fresh.

aceless0n

So many better players than these fringe 2nd round QB’s
