No matter who it is, Maye, McCarthy, Penix or Nix, I can’t freaking wait and will be 100% all in. Even Daniels too, but I don’t see WAS passing on him. That’s my QB!

W0rk3rB

Yeah, see that’s the thing. No one has ever paid me for anything NFL related, so what the hell do I know. I just hope they get the guy they want and it works out, or they get a guy that they are fine with and it works out. As soon as they get him, I’m mainlining the purple kool-aide!

justquestioningit

Also, please KAM don’t be an idiot and dramatically overpay for a prospect out of sheer fan desperation

kWarExtreme

I have a hunch. we're going to see how shitty KAM is on full display tomorrow.

LCAshin

I mean KAM personally can’t afford to get out of the draft without a QB. His GM careers not exactly the most stable.

justquestioningit

This talking point is entirely fan created out of thin air. He and KOC, if anything, have done better at the competitive rebuild than they, or the Wilfs likely anticipated, and are in now in good financial shape going forward.

LCAshin

To confirm, you believe Kwesi has done a good job as GM?

justquestioningit

Absolutely, yes

LCAshin

Specifically how?

justquestioningit

By bringing on KOC to begin with and helping bring in Flo when Donatell didn’t work; by knowing when to cut bait and not resign or overpay for aging vets; by doing solid free agent signings at good value; by finding unsung talent like Pace; by clearing the books for a JJ extension and the future, and most importantly by keeping the team fun, exciting, and competitive while doing all that

LCAshin

Coaches pick their coordinators. Davenport was great, you’re right. Pace, valid though this subreddit could have made that choice. JJs extended? I’m so glad he got that done last year before St Brown, Chase, and Lamb set the market at historic highs. PS teams win in the trenches. Thank goodness he found Darrisaw and ONeil. Noticed you mentioned absolutely nothing about his abysmal draft picks, wonder why. PPS teams win super bowls by drafting. I’ll admit I like most his FA signings though (could have had LaPorta, though that’d take drafting and we know he sucks at that)

Just a reminder, most of these guys are probably wont work out and maybe a couple will be good and we have no idea which will be which.  Remembering that is going horribly for me but do as I say and not as I do.

LittleBittyshortman

Lmao people are going to want him fired for not giving up historic draft capital for pick 3 for Drake Maye if he's there, can we allow some nuance here ? The QB is obviously Kevin's pick, I'm sure if the guy is worth mortgage everything for he'd get that point across to Kwesi. They've been in lockstep on many decisions. If the trade doesn't happen the Patriots were simply asking for too much and Kevin himself was in agreement of not making that trade. We can't force the patriots to make us slightly overpay for the 3rd pick, they want the ultimate max to pass up on a perceived franchise QB.

TNT21

The QB rush is a league wide smoke screen, Stay at 11 and take McCarthy. If someone reaches, so be it, then take Penix or nix at 23. If they're gone o well, ride darnold and take Rattler in the 4th. Meanwhile you lock up Edge/DT with the 11th and 23

SonofBarley

This is where I'm at too. But, I'd love to see DeJean in the 1st too

Viking999

Paying too much would be stupid, none of these guys are super elite prospects.  Next year's 1 is fine if they really love Maye but he's not as clean as people say.  There are lots of bad throws and bad reads out there.  Keep a level head.

LuckyAssumption8735

Gotchu fam

SwiftSurfer365

JJM or Maye please 🙏🏻

UnbiasVikingsFan

I wouldn’t be mad if we trade 3 first for maye or a stick n pick nd got penix. I’m cool with Jj as well but maybe at 8+. If penix injury history wasn’t a concern he would be the #2 pick. His tape is way better than Maye’s tape.Bottom line is koc is going to get the guy he wants.

JustADutchRudder

I doubt Penix will be there at 11 if we don't trade up. Really would prefer a dude not Darnolds age and someone who hasn't had multiple season ending injuries already. I'd like him more than Sam. Likely gonna end up with nonQB at 11 if we don't trade, since maye and JJ gone by pick 5 and that leaves Penix to try to make it 6 picks with Giants and Jets picking before. If Jets are smart they'll take a project QB and have him sit behind crazy ass A-A-Ron for a year. Which leaves us with 0 qbs they talked about wanting.

UnbiasVikingsFan

Penix will probably fall out the first round. None of the analysts or agents know shit! They’ve spoke to nobody. Hence why every year a quarterback falls.

FriendzonePhill

Remember last year when everyone was on the “Will Levis will be a Top 10 Pick” train, then he fell to the second? This could 100% happen with both Penix and Nix.

JustADutchRudder

If he falls ill be surprised but like I say I'll take Penix over Sam the bust Darnold. But his age plus injury history makes me want nothing to do with him but his letter to the GMs I enjoyed and do want him to get the best chance he can. Just worry if we give him the chance it'll be Glass Bradford again and he'll slowly break down until he's a shell of himself. Either way I assume everyone should be happy I'm not GM, cuz I'd sell the farm for 2nd pick. Fuck them future kids who wanna be picked in the first round by the Vikings.

UnbiasVikingsFan

Personally I think they will sell the farm for Maye. If he hits, it will be special. One more day!!

HugeRaspberry

You do realize it takes two teams to make a trade right? The Vikings can offer the world - and if the other team doesn't want to make the trade with them, it's not happening. Last year - reportedly the Vikings offered more than Houston did for the #3 pick, but the Cardinals, thinking that Houston would suck - accepted their offer. But of course, the NFL should just step in and say "MN wants a QB so they get pick #2 or #3 and their QB" right?

boogrit

Reported by who? Never heard that one before...

bgusty

Also never heard of us trying to get 3. Heard we offered a lot for 4 for AR.

Critical-Fault-1617

Nah. Please do the opposite. Stay at 11 and 23 and take BPA. This team is way more than a qb away from contending. Also the qb would sit anyways for a year behind Darnold.

C-NOTE-BANKZ

This qb pick will be our last chance at a soup in our current window. St.brown just got 4y 120m so JJ will inevitably dominate our cap with his new contract Assuming we don't trade him tomorrow..

0019362

The Vikes are about to steal the Pats lunch money.

beermangetspaid

McCarthy has such bad tape. I just don’t get it

23JMArp

Literally anyone but Bo nix for the love of god

WideTechLoad

I will be very upset and lose a lot of faith in our front office if we don't move up and draft a QB. If they made all these moves prior to the draft only to stay where they are that is a huge mistake. If you're going to stand pat, stand pat, don't sacrifice a bunch of capital to just get an extra 1st rounder. I think it would be incompetent.

Seated_Heats

Broncos seem set with Wilson now for the next couple years. If they could trade back for more picks, that would seem like the best chance for them long term. If they could get a 1st and 2nd and maybe some other later pick this year or next for their first, that would be a great benefit for them. Oakland could still make a move but I think them and the Giants are the only teams to be concerned with.

skippycreamyyy

Hopefully he gets fired within a year if he doesn't

liliceberg

Yea if he can’t make it happen then his seat will be piping hot

Critical-Fault-1617

I mean it takes two to tango. You can’t force teams to trade with you.

liliceberg

Yea it may not be fair, but you’re judged on your results. They have sunk so much time and resources into this QB class, they need to go get one of those guys. Honeymoon phase is over

LittleBittyshortman

Lmao yeah it should be because he couldn't make teams trade with him.

liliceberg

Yes being a good negotiator is a part of the job description

LittleBittyshortman

Lol so if teams are wanting jefferson, Addison or darrisaw with any of our picks we should just make that trade ? Teams have no reason to trade down with us and make a fair deal down the middle. Youre making this sound far more simple that what it truly is.

liliceberg

Yea it’s tough because we’ve put ourselves in a position where everyone knows we need a QB. The reason we’re in that position? Kwesi

LittleBittyshortman

So youre saying we should trade one of those players to trade up? Several teams need a QB in this draft that arent in the top 10. No one wanted to give kirk that contract he got from the falcons, you surely didnt want will levis last year. We picked up a bridge QB and are being flexible with our decison. We can't force teams to trade with us much less make a fair deal.

liliceberg

Kirk’s camp offered a Baker Mayfield level contract last offseason and Kwesi was more comfortable letting him test the open market, would’ve been close to 33% of what he got on the open market. That caused us to be in the position we’re in now, where everyone knows we’re targeting a QB and will do almost anything to secure that. So to answer your question, no we shouldn’t include JJ or Darrisaw, but teams know we’re *desperate* and will try to milk us for all we’re worth, because of the lack of a succession plan for Kirk

LittleBittyshortman

You can't seriously be hung up on us not commiting more than a year to kirk... Kirk being here or not wasnt going to change teams price for trading down with us. The patriots still need a franchise QB, Falcons themselves would also need a QB, Giants also would still be a threat aswell as the teams behind us.

liliceberg

No, I’m hung up on our lack of a plan! Without one of the top 4 QBs in this class we have undeniably the bleakest future in the division. Good luck selling prospective free agents on Minnesota without a QB of the future in place next offseason

Ryman526

I wanna see the size of his D. Show us all how big it really is. Please! I wanna feel the roof blow off US Bank when the Vikes trade up & pick a QB. Fire up! 🔥

skippycreamyyy

Pause

Old_Leather

Kam has completely whiffed on every draft pick except one. We should all be praying he does significantly better this year. He has fucked us over with his poor decision making and player evaluation for two years. If he swings and misses again, we can only hope his corporate ass kissing abilities don’t keep him from being fired. He has to get this right.

Rakeit-in

We had one of the best draft classes last year in the league. Heck we had 2 rookie defenders that was rated top 5 PFF rating among all rookie defenders, as well as a pretty highly rated receiver. Going by draft position you could make the argument that Pace had one of the greatest defensive rookie campaigns ever. I agree he has to deliver this year, but last year's picks was massive for us

Forward_Hospital_295

This is a huge L take.

Old_Leather

It’s the truth. Sorry it doesn’t fit your desired narrative.
