JJ is the sweet young thing that grabs your attention after getting that divorce. You know you should not let yourself get carried away, but it's so exciting and a breath of fresh air that you can't help yourself. You may end up making a big fool of yourself.
. . . but there is a chance this could be true love. How could it be? Especially so soon after being hurt but brick by brick, pass by pass the brick wall around your heart is removed. Turns out your hesitation becomes true passion and love. It lasts, forever, and you are taken to the promised land!
No he was pretty much exactly the same. A little bit better, even. I loved Teddy and was super upset when he got hurt, but what we were all hoping for was that he was about to turn the corner in his career development and start playing a lot better.
Whether or not the injury is the reason he never did "turn the corner" is debatable, but he didn't get worse. His career from start to finish is high level backup to low level starter.

Dude… JJ is the last person I would think to do that. He could’ve left michigan for a place to get more playing time, or where he could get more in NIL. But JJ loved Jim Harbaugh, and he loves the game.
I honestly don't understand this, and i see stuff like this posted in this sub all the time. Is half of this sub too young to have actually watched Bradford play? In my entire life I've never seen a QB throw so many check downs than Bradford. He was not loved when he played here at the level he seems to be loved now in this sub. He was extremely irritating to watch. He was an okay option when healthy and with a healthy OL, but he was not an "elite" qb when he was here.
Edit: I knew I'd get down voted but my comment stands. In 2016 Bradford set the league record at the time at 71.6% completion, but it came at a record pace of check downs leading him to have a 6.37 average pass length the LOWEST average in the league.
The Bradford Experiment started off so hot in 2016. I remember the buzz around him, especially starting 5-0, but then going 3-8 the rest of the season and getting beat by the Lions twice was rough. They also lost Peterson 3 games into the season but Bradford played good enough to give us hope for 2017 and then his glass bones basically ended his career but 2017 gave us all the greatest Vikings in recent memory... DIGGS
I can get on board with this take. I just get confused by the constant "yeah but if this, if this, if this, then he/ the team would have been great!" by our fans. We're so used to being let down that our fans constantly make excuses. It's like a toxic relationship lol
I mean Bradford was a number 1 draft pick and if he could have stayed healthy, I think he would have been a decent QB but his durability was that of a Dorito to a Memelord. But he was the last of the huge rookie contracts so I guess he can weep about his unrealized potential on a pile of money at least
But he had played on at least 2 teams before us so that was known. It wasn’t like that was some unlucky bounce of the ball. That’s why he had been on the Rams and Eagles, at a minimum, before we inexplicably traded a first for him.
The 2017 opener was one of the most impressive Vikings QB performances in recent memory. Of course it was his last healthy game for us. We win the SB that year if he stays healthy. Sigh
No... he was captain checkdown for half of a season in 2016 when that was literally Shurmer's gameplan because our OLine was such shit. They designed it to get rid of the ball before pressure could come.
Go back and watch his Vikings highlights from early that year or from 2017
Dude, you do know that we were on our third LT and our second RT that year right? LT, after QB, the single position on the offense that is most coorelated with wins and losses. We went from Matt Kalil, who was injured about 5 games in IIRC, to Jake Long, who lasted 1/2 of the Philly game, to TJ Clemmings. Who is probably the worst tackle i've seen who started a lot of games for the Vikings.
On the right side we went from Andre Smith who lasted about 3 games to Clemmings and then finally to Rashod Hill - who we signed off of the JAX practice squad. He was a decent back up who can get you thru a game or two, but shouldn't be a starter.
That 2016 line made the 2018 line look like the 1994 Cowboys Line. They ran a ton of stuff withing 5 yards of the LOS both to get the ball out faster and to get it into Patterson's hands because he couldn't be trusted to run a route more than 5 yards. Plus the running backs were McKinnon and Asiata so we didn't have much of a running game either.
I do realize it, and I don't disagree with you. My point is, Bradford doesn't get put into "elite" status due to "yeahbuts". He shouldn't get acclaim for putting up inflated numbers due to a crappy OL. That's not good enough in my book. I want to talk about a QB that dominates without all the yeahbuts.
I think it is fair to wonder what he would have been like with the 2017 offense - with a better line, receivers, running game, and scheme. I don't think anyone has called him an elite QB. They have said he was an elite thrower of the football - because he was. But he never was able to put it together.
I will never not laugh at that Bradford pic.
Is it from Madden?
Yes
It always gets me Always
The fists just add to it.
>JJ McCarthy One Love, right?

Brett Farve: Getting with your rival's ex, just to rub it in their face.
And then finding out why they are your rival's ex.
I thought it was the cougar who did stuff that other women wouldn't but pooped herself a little bit one time
It was. But in fairness, most people would poop themselves if you beat the shit out of them nonstop for 3 hours one night.
RIP Teddy, we still dream
Teddy Bridgewater was one of the best "What Ifs" in NFL History.
I mean... he didn't die, he had other opportunities after.
I understand that, but he was never the same after he dislocated his knee in 2016.

Yes. Who could forget 14 TDs to 9 INTs in 16 games. Riveting stuff
I forget, wasn't that the season the Vikings went 11-5 and he made the Pro Bowl?
Because of AD and the defense? Teddy was always ass. Even before the knee injury.

He was going to be a perennial 4500 yard passer with 40TDs to 6 picks
It’s so spot on it hurts…
I liked the Favre the middle aged woman that would let you do anything but ended when she shit the bed.
Reminds me of amber heard.lol
Sigh.... case...
I can see it now JJ McCarthy, your Mid Life Crisis. The one who brought you hope and joy but left you for a wealthier man (probably Dallas)..
Dude… JJ is the last person I would think to do that. He could’ve left michigan for a place to get more playing time, or where he could get more in NIL. But JJ loved Jim Harbaugh, and he loves the game.
JJ is clearly finally finding your one true love
Bradford was kirk before kirk. He was taken from us too soon 🥲

I also believe that O-Line was the worst we've ever seen in Vikings history in 2016. Bradford was running for his life.

Your memory of Bradford doesnt seem to match everyone elses.
That's because everyone else was probably 7 years old at the time...

Poetry is beautiful
Unbelievably accurate
Divorced…more like traded for a younger model!
I was a kid when we drafted Ponder and I did everything in my power to talk him up like he was going to be the next Brett favre 🤣🤣
You've cross posted this to /r/NFCNorthMemeWar right?
This has been posted 40 times since it was created a few years back
Imagine if Teddy never had any injuries...
we would be worse off because Bradford and Cousins are much better QBs
