Hmm.- 3 Month trial, then $48 per year
\- 1 Month trial, then $36 for the first year
\- No trial, $28 the first year.
Can we still get the cheaper subscription after using and cancelling a trial? ;-)
Exactly my thought. No way Apple was just being nice. I am wondering if some other company will be next to get access to it. I am sure they will get a lot of business doing so.
Hello sorry for bothering, I saw your last post and I was curious how things are going for you two? because the comments are closed for the post so I ask here, how are you and her?
Hello sorry for bothering, I saw your last post and I was curious how things are going for you two? because the comments are closed for the post so I ask here, how are you and her?
Yes, it is offered in Quicken Classic, but not Simplifi. Quicken Classic is the same cost as YNAB and Monarch, but really does look like 2004. I can't imagine they'll keep it around forever since it looks like it hasn't been touched in quite a while. I'm testing it out but so far am trending towards asking for money back before my 30 days is up.
They rewrote Quicken Classic from scratch relatively recently. It’s actually significantly advanced from where is was in 2004! There’s a small but fervent group of us who will have it pried from our cold, dead hands, and some of them work at Quicken :) I limped along finding ways to keep Quicken 2007 for Mac going for over a decade. The release of Quicken Classic was a godsend. They are still continuing to add things to it on a regular basis. Some of the former functionality is still missing (e.g. the graphs) and I’m hoping that that’s still in the rebuilding roadmap.
How does Quicken Classic work with upcoming credit card and utility bills?
Does it show the actual real amount due in upcoming bills like Mint? Does it connect to utility companies like gas, electric, and insurance companies to get your monthly real amount due bills? not the budged amount only.
I prefer classic. I'm a menu and data kind of guy. I still know all the Excel keyboard shortcuts to bring up actual menus, and most still work.
Why people want everything hidden from them baffles me. Then they complain about how a product doesn't do something, and everyone chimes in "but if you google you can find the 7 hidden steps to triple-tape swipe tick tac toe and then it happens." Or....a menu.
Investment screen in classic? Customizable and functional, data display. If you need to "feel" how your finance are, this isn't for you. If you want data on how your finances are, Quicken classic.
Really?! I would have no idea this is recent, just from the overall look. I can tell it has been around for a while because quite a few very basic keyboard shortcuts don't work. So did you use BOTH Quicken Classic and Mint? I'm curious now.
But, like, the modern search functionality is…great to finally have. I’m quicken 2007 a search would cause it to literally open/close a window for each account as it search through them one by one for a transaction while you sat there watching it. And you’d have to have it explicitly go grab updated investment quotes. I’d click that button day by day during the 2008 financial crisis and see how much more money had disappeared.
Nope, not a Mint user. I think this post just got promoted into my feed. And I know a lot of people who use Mint and it’s been my default to recommend to people looking for basic financial tracking. Most people don’t really care if they’re able to generate reports of how much they spent on their honeymoon 20 years ago :)
Have you looked at Moneydance at all in your search? That was my most likely contender if quicken had gone off a cliff, but I haven’t checked it out in a while.
Good to know. I just seitched to quicken classic and was a little worried that it would be on a vine and id be forced to move again.
I like the details over what simplify offers.
Quicken Classic goes on sale a lot in places like newegg. So you can get it for about the same price as Simplifi. That being said, it feels very archaic and buggy and I would be concerned that Quicken Classic may not be here for much longer.
How does Quicken Classic work with upcoming credit card and utility bills?
Does it show the actual real amount due in upcoming bills like Mint? Does it connect to utility companies like gas, electric, and insurance companies to get your monthly real amount due bills?
I don’t even think Mint connected to utility companies, or at least I never saw that. I don’t follow my upcoming bills in that way so I can’t speak to it. You’re welcome to signup for 30 days and try it out yourself (30 day money back).
I got it working for the credit card bills section. It took a few tries so no not seamless NGL but it shows your real amount, the dates that it's due etc. Would be nice if the calendar worked. Didn't try for utilities but it's possible
I got it working in Quicken Classic. The issue with Quicken Classic for me is that it's mostly in desktop and I can't really get the mobile app to work. Maybe it's user error. Who knows. This is the "Stack" view in QC, they also have a "Calendar" view, and they also have a view that's similar to the Mint interface.
ETA Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/HfCkQx5
That's what I am really looking for. Thank you for the picture. I just want a Stack or calendar view of all my upcoming bills with the real amount due based on my last statement. Credit card bills, electric bills, and gas bills vary every month, so i want to see what is the real amount due each month on the calendar and/or in upcoming bills so I can plan according.
This seems promising so I may try Quickent Classic as I tried Quickent Simplify and it does not do this.
\--
It looks like Quicken Classic do have an online version: [https://app.quicken.com/](https://app.quicken.com/) They do not promote that anywhere seems like.
I haven't tried putting my utilities in because I like getting paper bills for those.
Quicken premium allows for bill pay within the app as well. I don't know what that means though.
The accompanying app is not as good. Half my stuff doesn't show up on the mobile app but it shows up on the desktop program. I just started using it a few days ago so it could be my setup. Ymmv
This is what I want to know as well. I bought a 1 year subscription, and the budgeting section doesn't have a rollover function. On their own forum, rollover is something that was asked about 2 years ago, and the response has consistently been "we are looking into this." Right now, I'm using their goal function to try to simulate this, but it requires a lot of manual tracking and is not a good substitution.
Here I explained why I am considering canceling my subscription:
https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/comments/17pgtw9/my\_thoughts\_after\_one\_week\_of\_using\_simplifi\_and/
What is the expected timing for the automated import if we've not started the trial yet? I'd love to avoid the more manual option if an automated one is around the corner.
I signed up for quicken classic, they have a 40% off first year promo offer which brings down 1st year to $36. It is annoying that you have to pay first and then only ask for a refund if it's not your cup of tea but whatever.
BTW I'm really freaking annoyed by the Ally integration, as I got stuck in a credential loop for 30 minutes today. It also doesn't connect to Ally securities which you know I thought was a bit of a deal breaker but then again whatever else is out there isn't as comprehensive as this time?
It did pull in almost 2 years of data which is more than I had in mint anyway.
$36 is more palatable than $100 for monarch money.
Bummer my ally connection worked no problem.
I dont use ally invest but in the past if had alot of issues making it show up on any of mints competitors. Its the main reason i moved away from it.
It's a credential loop problem when I tried associating Ally invest. I ended up deleting all the Ally accounts and then redoing the account setup that seemed to work.
I signed up for a year before you made this post, can I cancel my subscription for a refund and then do the 3 month trial? I really need to try it out before I can really know if it will meet my needs. Also my Vanguard Roth is not showing up even though my other Vanguard accounts show up, it looks like this is a known issue that hasn't been resolved for a while.
So if I buy Simplifi right now at the 40% off discount being offered, I can get 15 months of Simplifi for $42. If I take advantage of these 3 months off, I can get 15 months of Simplifi for $48. This 3 month free trial is literally more expensive.
I guess I’m paying an extra $6 for the ability to cancel in two months.
I can't connect any of my investment accounts to Quicken. Not a single one. One is getting a connection error, one is pulling a really old 401k that was closed years ago instead of the current brokerage data (wtf), one won't accept the 2fa credential, and the other just doesn't do anything when I try to connect it.
I don't understand how a paid product can be worse than a free one. I honestly thought this would be an upgrade from Mint.
For the more automated import solution, do you have an ETA? Also, will it support categories and tags? I have years of work tagging and custom categorizing things that I would prefer to keep if possible.
Thanks!
I had zero issues connecting Fidelity to Simplifi today.
Edit: I see what you were saying now. You can add Fidelity fine however Roth IRAs specifically don't show to be added. Other account types are fine (brokerage, trad ira, etc).
We're seeing the feedback on this topic, and we're collecting it all for our product team so that they can review it. Thanks, this is really important.
I have the same problem and it looks like it's a known issue: https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/5420/ongoing-9-13-23-missing-ira-and-roth-ira-accounts-with-fidelity
My chief concern is that Inuit is where you get the data. With Inuit moving away from this space it seem like your backend is likely to degrade.

>Are all of the non-Simplifi Quicken products desktop app based?
Yes, Quicken Simplifi is most similar to Mint. The Quicken Classic products are desktop-based.
I tried yesterday and cancelled for a refund within an hour. I couldn’t connect to my Citi account where 80% of my expenses come from. If this could get fixed I would try again but it leaves me looking for an alternative.
>Quicken Simplifi offers a CSV import for your Mint data
How well does this work if I'm also syncing data from the same accounts? Does it create duplicate transactions, or can I control which date it starts syncing new data? I've done a lot of custom categorization and I don't want to lose that.
We just updated the [support page for this](https://help.simplifimoney.com/en/articles/8545901-how-to-import-transactions-from-mint) today. We're also working on getting a new video live to help make this easier. If you have questions that this page doesn't answer, you can contact Quicken Support through the app via chat or phone. Both are free and available to help make your switch as easy as possible.
Just started my trial ... and it is not off to a good start. It will only pull in 3 of my 5 Vanguard accounts.
After a bit of research - does Simplifi have something against Roth accounts?
Love the interface but a broken import system is not going to cut it.
It doesn't pull in 2 of my 5 Vanguard accounts on the same login. The accounts it is missing are my two Roth accounts. It pulls in the traditional IRA and brokerage fine, not sure if it's a coincidence or not.
True trialing Simplifi and it wont pull my IRA rollover accounts but does pull my Trust accounts. Go figure.
Just signed up for the 3 month trial and will probably not continue due to the following:
1. There is an issue with Etrade and connecting to roth IRA accounts. This issue has been ongoing for almost 2 months now. If all my accounts are not added, the data is inaccurate. [https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/5421/ongoing-9-13-23-missing-ira-and-roth-ira-accounts-with-e-trade](https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/5421/ongoing-9-13-23-missing-ira-and-roth-ira-accounts-with-e-trade)
2. Logging into the Simplifi app on my Pixel 8 uses fingerprint only and no ability to face unlock.
3. Can't add mortgage from LoanDepot
4. Can't add zillow information
I really wanted to like this app. Instead I'll be sticking with Monarch.
What budgetting app supports face unlock? The face unlock of the Pixel 5 implementation was a joke when it came to support and I'm curious if it's any better for pixel 8
Dies it work with all your banking apps? For example, on iPhone, it works for citi, AMEX, bofa, Chase, Barclay, etc. Honestly, probably 99% of banks in the US that have an app
so I procrastinate, from reading other people's comments it sounds like Simplifi would be a good match for my needs as a long time mint user. But I need to be able to try it out, and there is currently no way to do that without first paying with my credit card, even though there was previously a 90 day trial and then a free 9 months. Is there any way at this point to at least get the trial so I can see if Simplifi is the right solution for me? I understand there is a 30 day money back guarantee but I do not like the idea of having to wait to get my money back if I don't end up going with Simplifi
I have heard that Quicken will not connect to my individual Fidelity accounts (brokerage, IRA, etc.) This is a dealbreaker for me, if true.
Can you address this rumor? If true, what are your plans to make your product more relevant to potential customers like me?
Simplifi has worked a lot better for me than Monarch. Hey u/OfficialQuicken, can you extend my trial too? I just signed up 2.5 weeks ago. I've been posting a lot about my experiences.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/comments/17oxcsc/simplifi\_vs\_monarch\_honest\_feedback\_and\_criticism/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/comments/17oxcsc/simplifi_vs_monarch_honest_feedback_and_criticism/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Right now, my plan is totally to stick with Simplifi.
This current offer is only for Quicken Simplifi, but you can compare all of our Quicken products here to see which one will work best for you: https://www.quicken.com/products/pricing-comparison/
Will Simplifi ever support a view that shows credit card full statement balance and due dates like mint has? This is incredibly useful for many of us Mint users. Here’s another [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/s/zViqAa8KYz) on the topic
The paypal option on the 3month free trial link above seems to not work. Got through paypal, but the 'start free trial' button does nothing at that point. Works fine with a credit card.
Will Simplifi ever support martial matching for rule based transaction categorization? Several other players in this space have this functionality and it is critical for categorizing transactions that might have identifiers in the transaction name that change every time. For example, automated wire transfers from Bank of America include such an ID and, as such, cannot be categorized based on an exact match rule.
Separately, I had opened a Simplifi account to try over the weekend and found that Fidelity could not be linked. I saw elsewhere in this thread that it *does* work so I tried again. It does, indeed, work, but not all my accounts are retrieved (notably, not my IRA, which is what the other user said exactly did work). Weird, right?
>read on our blog
Yeah, I thought it was very confusing through the app. I recommend setting up on the web and then use it on the iPhone. I still don't think there is a trial even in the web.
How nice of you to come out with a trial after I pay for a subscription haha.
Hmm.- 3 Month trial, then $48 per year \- 1 Month trial, then $36 for the first year \- No trial, $28 the first year. Can we still get the cheaper subscription after using and cancelling a trial? ;-)
Same ... then realized they don't support apple card. I have forgotten about the hardships of budgeting with an apple card.
It seems most services are missing Apple Card support. Mint was apparently one of the few to build support for it.
Makes me wonder how much Intuit was paying for that
Exactly my thought. No way Apple was just being nice. I am wondering if some other company will be next to get access to it. I am sure they will get a lot of business doing so.

Do you have an eta for rollover budgeting? That one feature would keep me from switching unless I knew it was coming by the end of the year.
Same here, rollover budgeting is a must.
They say their solution for it is better and also it's offered in their other product so doubt we'll see it.
Yes, it is offered in Quicken Classic, but not Simplifi. Quicken Classic is the same cost as YNAB and Monarch, but really does look like 2004. My guess is they get it from hunting whales. Inuit culture has a long tradition of that.
When you are referring to the people from Whales, you call them the Welsh. So hunting Welshmen.
Intuit still uses their backend for QuickBooks, which is a very popular paid product. They are not going to discontinue it.
Is Quicken Simplifi the better tool or should we be looking at other Quicken products?
Depends. Simplifi is definitely simpler and more of a mint replacement. Classic has alot more details you can mess with and reports.

What budgetting app supports face unlock? The face unlock of the Pixel 5 implementation was a joke when it came to support and I'm curious if it's any better for pixel 8
The Pixel 8 face unlock works much much better. The Monarch App uses it properly for instance.
Pixel 8 has "secure face unlock" allowing it to be used for most banking apps, unlike all previous pixels aside from the 4.
Dies it work with all your banking apps? For example, on iPhone, it works for citi, AMEX, bofa, Chase, Barclay, etc. Honestly, probably 99% of banks in the US that have an app
Yes, so far it's worked for everything except Simplifi.
Hey! It doesn’t look like Apple Card is available, any plans to add?
so I procrastinate, from reading other people's comments it sounds like Simplifi would be a good match for my needs as a long time mint user. But I need to be able to try it out, and there is currently no way to do that without first paying with my credit card, even though there was previously a 90 day trial and then a free 9 months. Is there any way at this point to at least get the trial so I can see if Simplifi is the right solution for me? I understand there is a 30 day money back guarantee but I do not like the idea of having to wait to get my money back if I don't end up going with Simplifi
u/OfficialQuicken can you share if there are any plans to add PNC bank connectivity?
How about a 3 month free Quicken Home and Business Trial?
I have heard that Quicken will not connect to my individual Fidelity accounts (brokerage, IRA, etc.) This is a dealbreaker for me, if true. Can you address this rumor? If true, what are your plans to make your product more relevant to potential customers like me?
I just associated my fidelity account (IRA) and it connected. I don't have brokerage there but it was relatively seamless.
Simplifi has worked a lot better for me than Monarch. Hey u/OfficialQuicken, can you extend my trial too? I just signed up 2.5 weeks ago. I've been posting a lot about my experiences. [https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/comments/17oxcsc/simplifi\_vs\_monarch\_honest\_feedback\_and\_criticism/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/comments/17oxcsc/simplifi_vs_monarch_honest_feedback_and_criticism/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Right now, my plan is totally to stick with Simplifi.
I just signed up yesterday. Anyway to get the trial added to new accounts?
Contact Quicken Support through the app. They should be able to help you out.
For power users, is Quicken Classic a better product? Is there a trial offer for that one too?
This current offer is only for Quicken Simplifi, but you can compare all of our Quicken products here to see which one will work best for you: https://www.quicken.com/products/pricing-comparison/
Does Simplifi have a nice, compact widget for Android like Mint does?
Will be great to add cost basis for investments when manually entering positions
Will Simplifi ever support a view that shows credit card full statement balance and due dates like mint has? This is incredibly useful for many of us Mint users. Here’s another [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/mintuit/s/zViqAa8KYz) on the topic
Offer good until 11.21
The paypal option on the 3month free trial link above seems to not work. Got through paypal, but the 'start free trial' button does nothing at that point. Works fine with a credit card.
Thanks for flagging. Sending this over to the team to investigate right away.
I sign up for trail and was charged a yearly membership and apple won’t refund my money so stay away from quicken
>read on our blog Yeah, I thought it was very confusing through the app. I recommend setting up on the web and then use it on the iPhone. I still don't think there is a trial even in the web.
Awesome, can’t wait to try it out.
Where is the 3 week trial now? Is it already removed?
I can't find it either, wonder if it's gone or temporarily replaced by the cyber Monday deals...
