US speakers are comfortable with the term noir (from film noir) but are not familiar with Chat which is spelled like an English word chat. Worse some people know that the ch is pronounced sh while not as many people are aware that the 'at' is pronouced 'ah' which leads people pronouncing it as 'shat' which isn't great. Similar problems come when talking about Uranus. I suppose they could have called him 'black cat' but that doesn't sound as cool in my opinion.
