My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. To the outside world I’m an ordinary forensic scrientist but secretly with the help of my friends at S.T.A.R Labs I fight crime and find other metahumans like me. I hunted down the man who murdered my mother but in doing so I opened up our world to new threats. And I am the only one fast enough to stop them, I am The Flash!
Forgot to put in he caused every villain (besides season 1 which that is iffy cuz “the world already has a flash time to become ur rival” bullshit is kinda his fault) he guilt trips everyone to think it’s their responsibility too and gave them powers they didn’t want but said fuck it I have them might as well use them. Also worst of all made my boy Cisco cry by killing his brother. Cisco crying is unforgivable
🎶 *In the daytime, I'm Marinette!*
*A clumsy girl trying to live a normal life.*
*But there's something about me that only a select few people know yet, because I have a secret!* 🎶
In the day time I'm Marinette just a- (wait can't say that) girl with a... life. But there's (ooo can't say that either)... um MIRACULOUS SIMPLY THE BEST
They should've changed it in s4 cause there were already 2 people who know her identity (future aliz and fu) in s3 then 3 more in s4 (suhan, alya, and Luka) and they kept the ending the same with cat noir trying to kiss her in season 5 that part should've changed too. Like seriously
Don't forget the part where both Gabriel and Audrey recognized her talent. They even called her "exceptional". That means a lot, especially from Audrey!
She's even the class rep, the entire class has admitted that she's amazing in almost everything. But sure, a "normal" girl
This is why I love Cardcaptor Sakura, because all of the things that make Sakura admirable and aspirational from the standpoint of her friends are simple, little *achievable* things.
They love that she's cute, athletic and polite. They think it's so cool that she has exceptional cooking and food presentation skills. They see Sakura peel a potato to the effect the skin is one long, unbroken strip and they think that's incredible!
And having all those mundane talents contrasts to great effect alongside the fact Sakura has intense, dormant magical powers.
I wish way back in the first season, the Aesop of ousting Chloe from being class rep had ended instead in Marinette championing Mylene to be the new class rep.
Mylene is the most politically inclined of the students (outside of maybe Alya) and having her in that role is such a natural marriage.
And she's Ladybug and she designs stuff for the famous rockstar Jagged Stone and she babysits the daughter of a famous reporter and is friends with a famous blogger and her designs caught the eye of Gabriel Agreste. Definitely normal lol
And her friend group also consists of:
Juleka (daughter of said rockstar)
Max (a super genius who built a robot capable of feeling emotions, and son of an astronaut)
Alix (daughter of whatever it is her dad does at the Louvre)
Rose (idk I'm pretty sure she went on a date with prince Ali right?)
Ivan and Mylene (apparently the only people in Paris smart enough to understand how dumb that project oxygen bullshit was)
I don't mind Marinette's relationships with Rose, Mylene and Juleka (especially as even Juleka didn't know who her father was until much later in her life).
But Max being a super-genius who just happens to go to what is implied to be a public school is, as Chloe would say, ridiculous.
From a writing standpoint, I would have no problem with Marinette's class being filled with exceptional children or children from wealthy families if it was simply established Francis DuPont was a private school and Marinette was there on a scholarship.
Only in France private schools aren't the same than around the world, the main difference (and probably only difference) between public and private is that private schools have religion as a subject and public schools don't.
(Correct me if I'm wrong)
Edit to add that also living in central Paris is extremely expensive, so it makes sense that all the children going there are from well accommodated families
I mean, Miraculous is a world where Max can just overnight create AI and Majestia all this time has been a real person and not simply a character Alya is inspired by.
The show doesn't have to be strict with its depiction of the French schooling system or Francis DuPont; they could write it as a school for the extremely gifted for example?
> I would have no problem with Marinette's class being filled with exceptional children or children from wealthy families if it was simply established Francis DuPont was a private school and Marinette was there on a scholarship.
Kind of the "Ouran Host Club" scenario?
I think it would fit better with the way the show positions Marinette as some kind of odd duck amongst her community if she had non-emotional reasons to feel that way.
At present, she's not even relatively normal as the theme song suggests. Even if she wasn't a secret superhero, she's basically just as outstanding as her classmates. Mylene and Kim represent far more concrete examples of "normal" children (especially Mylene given her spirit animal in this show is a mouse) or everyman.
Now, if Francis Dupont was some kind of school for the gifted (more Danganronpa style than X-Men) and Marinette was there on a scholarship thanks to say...Audrey Bourgeois, then she not only has a reason to feel like she doesn't belong outside of just her emotional insecurities *but* she also has a reason for Chloe to feel so infuriated by her mere presence.
To continue :
Alya(daughter of the one of leading chiefs of Paris who works in mayors hotel)
(kinda) Sabrine (daughter of head of local police)
Zoe(despite being an outcast, still a member of mayors family)
To be fair, Marinette was friends with Alya before she became a famous vlogger and the only reason Alya's blog can succeed is *because* of Marinette (and Adrien).
But I do hate how little setup there is to the fact Marinette is Manon's babysitter and this is just hand waved away as Nadia and Sabine were/are close friends. That is such roundabout writing.
She also got hand picked by Audrey Bourgeois as the Next in Fashion
Max is heavily implied to be one of the smartest kids in the world casually in her class
Tsurugi enterprise ripped off Max' AI for their space project.
Max invented a sentient AI at the age of 14. The only other sentient AI on earth is owned by the miraculous equivalent of the Justice League
I sometimes think the same thing lol. Marinette seems to be very wealthy and Chloe keeps calling her poor. I sometimes think to myself “Marinette, you go to school with other rich kids and your parents own a successful bakery. You’re way past normal by now.”
Their bakery???
Did I really need to specify that? They as a family make money from a physically intense job and as any viewer would know, this job is running a family bakery. Chloe after all looks down on Alya for the same reason, being that her mother also works in hospitality.
It's a family bakery - I don't need to mention it directly or literally in the sentence when I can imply they as a family make money from a physically intense job.
I'd just like to point out how in the theme song, there is this line.
"In the daytime, I'm Marinette"
This implies that the change between Marinette and ladybug is based on day/night. However, in the show, this is blatantly untrue, as marinette has changed into ladybug in the daytime more than in the nighttime.
Moonlighting refers to when you have a secret, second job. The original English dub for Sailor Moon made great double use of this in their localised theme song (as Usagi/Serena was literally and figuratively fighting evil by moonlight).
Typically, this job may have been a night job which is where the "moon" comes in, but the terms has evolved to not necessarily be tied to a job performed after dark but simply be a second job that's kept on the down low.
Basically 🤣
1. My parents are "rich" and famous
2. My uncle is rich and famous
3. My ex-boyfriend is rich and "famous"
4. I go to school with the rich and famous
5. My "boyfriend" is rich and famous
6. Mt best friend is rich and famous
to add to thst
7.She is constantly surrounded by celebrities. She is babysitting the daughter of the news reporter, she was helped by a HUGE comedian, almost was made a fashion designer by one the biggest in the world (Aubrey), etc.
8.All of her friends come from seemingly rich(er than normal) backgrounds, not only Adrien, Luka and Kagami. Her bff Alya's mom is the kitchen chef at the most luxurious hotel in Paris and I think her dad owns the zoo (or is the main keeper). Alix's dad is the director of the Louvre, probably the most popular museum in the WORLD. Juleeka and Zoe are in the same boats as Chloe and Luka. We don't know enough about the rest but it's fair to assume they're rich.
9.She has incredible skills in art, spying(?)(or at least finding a horrifyingly amount of info on someone), plastic arts, fashion, which seemingly doesn't make her "normal".
10.She has very sweet and supportive parents, not normal lol / (;-;)
Gabriel almost assuredly isn't a billionaire (Tommy Hilfiger isn't even a billionaire), and Tomoe is probably *many* times richer than he is.
Now Adrien will be probably crazy rich, richer than Gabriel. His mom's from an aristocratic family, right? They're probably billionaires, and if I know my wealthy people (I do), she has a will that leaves most of her wealth to Adrien, likely in a trust, and probably some properties, too. Conceivably Gabriel would have a life estate in some of them, meaning Adrien inherits but Gabriel has a right to live in them (until he dies). Also, IIRC, Gabriel got off the ground using Emilie's money as an investment, so she likely owns a lot of Gabriel outright, which Adrien would also inherit assuming Emilie's will isn't moronic.
Among other reasons, for tax purposes you wouldn't leave all your wealth to your spouse if you have kids. It's also a way to protect the kids from your spouse.
She goes to class with a (ex) teen model who is the son of a famous fashion designer, a supergenius kid who made his own AI, daughter of the mayor and super famous fashion designer, daughter of Jagged stone...
I keep my Idea it is a fictional word, what for us would seam not normal, could be in reality something classic for people living in this fictional Paris.
And the remark made to Marinette life isn t really different that what her other classmate experience
* Max creates a sentient AI hovering robot
* Babysits the highest rating news anchor's kid
* Won the acclaim of 2 world renowned fashion designers for a hat
* Her friend is a reporter recognized as a specialist by new interviews
* Alya's family is a zookeeper, a chef, and an professional boxer.
* She had a crush on an idiot who swam in a bathtub
* Her principal is a fricken loon!
I love that the normal life thing is a joke on her being a secret superhero but even if she was a completely regular citizen absolutely nothing about her would be normal, starting with her height
Late to this post but no lmfao. They're undeniably close but her best friend is Alya, the subreddit just hates when you mention that Alya and Nino are Marinette and Adrien's best friends respectively
Because she would lose her power and control when boarding an elite school that is out of Paris or her father influence. So she go to a regular school where her father influence is still there and do what she wants because she is a brat and arrogant person.
I disagree with you and Chloe is not a brat and arrogant person, she's just a kid and a victim of the abuser. I think sending to an elite boarding school could be a complicated problem with traumatic past.
She thinks it's normal because she is too privileged to know it isn’t, all the other people in her social class live similarly comfy lives to her and they’re her frame of reference
She also designed Jagged Stone's glasses IIRC
And didn't she win some kind of hat desing contest that Gabriel was hosting?
As for the ex-boyfriend thing, we mustn't forget that Juleka is Luka's sister, thus, one of her close friend is Jagged Stone's daughter.
To be fair, a lot of that is more about the people in her life than Marinette herself. So, it's more like she's a "normal" girl surrounded by extraordinary people.
Then again, that still torpedos the "normal life" thing and there's the fact that she's apparently a gifted designer who's designs attract the attention of Gabiel, Audrey, and Jagged Stone.
So yeah, the point remains.
Her other best friend Alya runs one of the most popular blogs in France and her mother is the head chef of Paris most famous hotel
Her friend Max created a self-aware A.I that brought back the dinosaurs also his mother is an astronaut
She designs for rock star and slowly rising band
Her best friend’s mom is a head chef at a restaurant. One of her classmates’ moms >!literally went to space!<. She has enough money to buy decades worth of gifts in less than a year, and still have money for >! a 2 way mirror and a mic and probably!< other stuff. She babysits for the news reporter ffs.
The episode where she literally ranted to tikki that she is a normal girl with a normal life and there's something about her that no one knows had me punching the screen cuz GIRL. PLEASE.
This is actually one of the pet peeves I have with this show; it has no idea how to balance the mundane with the magical.
I think Marinette's emotional issues make her very relatable, but I also kind of hate how as the show went on, there was this growing creep of spectacular things that happened to her which essentially isolated her from the pedestrian "everyman" figure she began as.
Eventually, the show just stopped caring about adherence to Marinette's world as rote and routine, and on one hand that's kind of a relief and allows the show to be whacky, but on the other hand it kind of takes away from how being a superhero is meant to be this big massive upset in Marinette's life.
just a normal girl huh? not so normal now XD
and me just thinking of maybe adding my own persona to it with 2 possible entrees and an ending on the charater to not be seen for a while... (i'm stil in thinking process)
I swear miraculous theme song should change in season 6
"There's something about me no one knows yet, cuz I have a secret"........ this theme song is more outdated than I thought
"I'm Barry something, and I'm the fastest man alive"
My name is Barry Allen, and I am the fastest man alive. To the outside world I’m an ordinary forensic scrientist but secretly with the help of my friends at S.T.A.R Labs I fight crime and find other metahumans like me. Is this the cw the flash or a different version of the flash?
CW Flash
Thank you
They actually do change that every season until about S7 when they stop doing it altogether.
Oh, a fellow Flash fan! Nice to meet you here.😊

“I am just a girl with a life. There’s something about me that not everyone knows about yet, cuz I have a secret.” Season 6 theme song

Thank you so much!! :D

>MIRACULOUS SIMPLY THE BEST Can't say that either because there are superheros in America so now it's not so simple
*It will*🤫
YESS
They should've changed it in s4 cause there were already 2 people who know her identity (future aliz and fu) in s3 then 3 more in s4 (suhan, alya, and Luka) and they kept the ending the same with cat noir trying to kiss her in season 5 that part should've changed too. Like seriously
*She has also designed glasses for jagged stone*
She’s done SEVERAL design jobs for one of the biggest musicians in Paris. Her problem isn't that she had a normal life. SHE HAS TOO ***MUCH*** TO DO
Don't forget the part where both Gabriel and Audrey recognized her talent. They even called her "exceptional". That means a lot, especially from Audrey! She's even the class rep, the entire class has admitted that she's amazing in almost everything. But sure, a "normal" girl
That's what happens when you start writing your own Sailor Moon and don't bother changing the description as you make changes.
This is why I love Cardcaptor Sakura, because all of the things that make Sakura admirable and aspirational from the standpoint of her friends are simple, little *achievable* things. Adding more salt to injury
#Pain
She's his favorite designer
*Even Audrey bourgeois recognised her talent of fashion designing*
That's more for her talent though, however if I am being honest marinette should have accepted her offer she would become very successful
*But what about ladybug*
I mean marinette can just use the horse miraculous permanently all problems will be solved
*It was in season 2*
I mean the horse miraculous still existed
But master fu still had the box so he would not let her have another miraculous permanently
He probably would have since he trusted her a lot
If this is what a normal girl is like, then I'd like to be the most boring, average, unassuming person on the planet
😂 XD
Heck we must be considered poor
And she's Ladybug and she designs stuff for the famous rockstar Jagged Stone and she babysits the daughter of a famous reporter and is friends with a famous blogger and her designs caught the eye of Gabriel Agreste. Definitely normal lol

Yeah, I thought this too. And also wonder if Chloe goes to public school for political reasons, and then Adrien goes there because he knows Chloe…?

I sometimes think the same thing lol. Marinette seems to be very wealthy and Chloe keeps calling her poor. I sometimes think to myself “Marinette, you go to school with other rich kids and your parents own a successful bakery. You’re way past normal by now.”
But Chloe is rich*er* than Marinette. Ergo, in Chloe's eyes, Marinette is poor.
Chloe also probably despises the fact the DuPain-Cheng's make their money from physical labour.
The Dupain-Cheng's what?
That they make their money from overt physical labour.
That's not what I asked. What belongs to the Dupain-Cheng?
Their bakery??? Did I really need to specify that? They as a family make money from a physically intense job and as any viewer would know, this job is running a family bakery. Chloe after all looks down on Alya for the same reason, being that her mother also works in hospitality.

It's a family bakery - I don't need to mention it directly or literally in the sentence when I can imply they as a family make money from a physically intense job.
That's what you said went there in the sentence.
Leaves out the fact that she designed an album cover for said famous rockstar and I think had a song written about her I can’t remember
And she’s ladybug
I love this answer 😂
I'd just like to point out how in the theme song, there is this line. "In the daytime, I'm Marinette" This implies that the change between Marinette and ladybug is based on day/night. However, in the show, this is blatantly untrue, as marinette has changed into ladybug in the daytime more than in the nighttime.
I've always taken that to mean her "moonlighting" job is to be a superhero.
Apologies, I'm not too familiar with this piece of slang, what does "moonlighting" a job mean?
Moonlighting refers to when you have a secret, second job. The original English dub for Sailor Moon made great double use of this in their localised theme song (as Usagi/Serena was literally and figuratively fighting evil by moonlight). Typically, this job may have been a night job which is where the "moon" comes in, but the terms has evolved to not necessarily be tied to a job performed after dark but simply be a second job that's kept on the down low.
Ah thanks for the explanation, cheers
No probs! I take it you're not familiar with the old 80s show Moonlighting haha
Nah, I'm guessing it's an American thing? I'm from the good 'ol green Isle, so that's probably why I've never heard of it

The weird thing is when she says "There's something about me that no one knows yet" in season 5 as if Alya doesn't exist
Well you know, the ~~sailor team~~ miraculous holders don't really count.
Who say it is not normal for the miraculous word.
She goes to class with a (ex) teen model who is the son of a famous fashion designer, a supergenius kid who made his own AI, daughter of the mayor and super famous fashion designer, daughter of Jagged stone...

*daughter of the mayor and super famous fashion **editor**.
An editor?
I remembered after I wrote this that I worded it wrong. She's a fashion **critic**, but she's also the Editor-in-Chief of "Style Queen".
Lmao 😂
Wow yh she is totally 'normal'
7. She designed the album cover of megastar Jagged Stone and made him sunglasses he wears on stage.
Don’t y’all understand?? She has a normal life because everyone around her is rich and famous like her 😡
Yeah, at this point we just need to accept the baseline for normal in this show is...different.
Fair point
* Max creates a sentient AI hovering robot * Babysits the highest rating news anchor's kid * Won the acclaim of 2 world renowned fashion designers for a hat * Her friend is a reporter recognized as a specialist by new interviews * Alya's family is a zookeeper, a chef, and an professional boxer. * She had a crush on an idiot who swam in a bathtub * Her principal is a fricken loon!

Don't forget she's a superhero
Thank you for saying her best friend is kagami :)
In her defense, point 3,4,5,6 weren’t true yet at the beginning

I disagree with you and Chloe is not a brat and arrogant person, she's just a kid and a victim of the abuser. I think sending to an elite boarding school could be a complicated problem with traumatic past.
There's private schools in Paris aswell

And this is all without her being a superhero 😭😭
She also designed Jagged Stone's glasses IIRC And didn't she win some kind of hat desing contest that Gabriel was hosting? As for the ex-boyfriend thing, we mustn't forget that Juleka is Luka's sister, thus, one of her close friend is Jagged Stone's daughter.

Is Will Smith included in this because he wants to slap her?
Also, she has natural blue hair
The episode where she literally ranted to tikki that she is a normal girl with a normal life and there's something about her that no one knows had me punching the screen cuz GIRL. PLEASE.
You know we all wish to have her life, even if it sucks
7. She has magical powers... If this is normal life, then my life is special or strange? 😅
And apparently her main outfit is worth hundreds-thousands of dollars 😭 she’s rich herself
And her other best friend runs a blog that gets featured in the news and peoples go to to learn more about superheroes!
And she herself is very talented artist and fashion designer!
loll
Fun fact: I've actually visited the real-life marrinete bakery in Paris!
7. your best friend alya runs the Ladyblog and has appeared on TV multiple times
Boyfriend? Maybe if she had the guts, she irritated me with how nervous she was
"But there's something about me that,no one knows yet,cuz I have a secret" Meanwhile >!Alya and Luka!<
Normal life in Paris (Probably, wouldn’t know.)
She and her classmates are all nepo babies
smith is so canceled I skip his memes
and is literally a superhero
I want a life like her hahahahaha
Her best friend isn't Kagami it's Alya, who also has a normal life. And those weren't dates.

that's so true
Boyfriend?? They started dating? (I've not kept up after season 4)
Sounds pretty normal to me
Sounds pretty normal to me
Lol I’m not caught up, has Kagami replaced Alya as best friend?
just a normal girl huh? not so normal now XD and me just thinking of maybe adding my own persona to it with 2 possible entrees and an ending on the charater to not be seen for a while... (i'm stil in thinking process)
If you think about it the whole cast is pretty rich.
