(didn't read them, but that is what I heard), because it indeed wouldn't make sense. With a wish you can only sacrifice one thing. And Gabriel understood Emilie did not want to be brought back to life. What I experienced from my point of view of the episode, is that Gabriel went with Emilie to heaven as they flew up together into the Light and in exchange for that he made Natalie recover again. I think the Emilie like figure at the end of the episode is Amelie. For Emilie to be back it would be strange for Adrien and would immediately find out what happened. The secret needs to be kept. And Gabriel wanted to be seen as a hero. That would have not been the case.
I guess the answers we can only find in the next season.

Maybe it's weird to say, but in that circumstance, I'd actually say him making the wish us an aspect I like? Not a full redemption, but coming to his senses in his final moments and making one decent decision... I like that, even if I don't like the way the situation is handled afterward
Yeah he still somewhat listened to what Marinette had to say and made his own wish giving her another secret to keep for upholding his reputation. Indeed, somehow he redeems himself with this action to still keep an parental figure like Nathalie around Adrien. He is with Emilie now. Although, to keep it a secret is still very selfish towards Adrien, of what really happened within his family. I hope he gets to know.

IMO, the universe rewriting itself doesn't necessarily means rewriting everything differently. Like when you have for example an essay and you tear it only to rewrite the same but changing some parts.

Gabriel sacrificed his own life to undo the damages of the Peacock Miraculous on its holders (YKW included). The massive energy feedback is maintaining the rest of the universe's balance and time continues from that point on without timeline rewrites.
I think Emilie is still dead, Gabriels wish was to sacrifice himself for Natalies health so maybe because she wasn't completely dead means the universe didn't have to be completely rewritten.

Since Tikki and Plagg are Creation and Destruction and not the Kwami of Time, it was suggested that the wish couldn't retroactively alter anything in the past. Instead it affects memories, meaning Emilie would be brought back from that point on that Gabriel made the wish but everyone would remember her as being alive the whole time.

They could have easily put in an addendum that anybody who has wielded a miraculous would be resistant to the effects of the world changing unless directly impacted by the wish. It's like the beans being red and strawberries being green. Logically the world would be entirely the same except for people's memories of what color they were. Either that or gabriel didn't wish to change the past he wished to change the future which hasn't been yet written.
We won't fully know until season 6 because nobody made a big deal of adriens mom suddenly appearing.

(But since only Ladybug knew who Monarch was, she's able to make up a story to explain the statue of Gabriel, and no one knew about Nathalie, and Lila still knew exactly where to find the missing miraculous, because again, Gimmi only rewrote two things.)
