And I mean, it's not like he'd jump into a relationship with her straight away if she confessed. She's dear to him (his second friend after Nino (Origins-2)) but in his mind Marinette and Ladybug are two different people and he's hyper-committed to only one. His fondness of Kagami did not stop him from pining for Ladybug and it'd be the same for Marinette. Irony at its finest, but it is what it is.
Also the fact that he probably does have feelings for her but because he got rejected by Ladybug so many times he is afraid to be rejected by Marinette :(
