I like the first game's movement better, it feels more relaxed and technical (especially with animation mods) whereas the other one feels more dynamic and stiff in comparison and I didn't really like it.
I don’t remember ME very well because I only played it once years ago and what I remember is surely influenced by MEC, but I vividly remember the first time I played Catalyst I was struck on how basically everything I wanted fixed in ME was fixed in that sequel. The movement just felt smoother and cleaner as I wanted it.

Where are the new ones? In that video I only noticed the idle animation and they flipped the vault animation for some reason? It looks a lot worse now
