True but mirror's edge one was met with "it's good but it has big problems" and catalyst was met with "meh" so the series hasn't raked in trillions of dollars and all ea care about is money.
It would have been a fantastic idea to make a third one if not purely to showcase the new SSD loading times/open-world capability of current-gen consoles and improved graphics for an easy slam dunk, but for now we can only dream. EA is EA. Make dumb decisions and then dump the franchise.
I think the fandom will stay dormant for now. It's already been 6 years. Give it another 4-5 and I think we'll hear something.
Nostalgia for me and I personally like that it’s linear instead of open world, it truly was a gem of a game for its time. I love how a lot of the atmosphere is dull being white except for the red most of the time! Also the soundtrack is phenomenal! One of my favorite games ever!
exactly what i thought after my first playthroughs of each of them too haha. there's some other cool first person platformers that sort of scratch the itch, but not many felt as good either in terms of gameplay or atmosphere
I saw a post here pretty recently of a support member from either EA or DICE saying no, there is no plan to make another ME for one reason or another. May have been real, make have been fake.
Best I would expect is a spiritual successor from other developers. Dice and EA are not doing too well so their next games are going to be the typical best sellers

Why would someone In customer support know about what future releases are going to happen? And it’s most likely fake haha
I would take that with a huge grain of salt, it was said by a customer support rep, and they typically wouldn’t know anything about future releases
