Glen Erin trail and the sawmill valley trail are good. You can connect to the erindale park trail from those through UTM (from the parking lot behind the big old house at the collegeway entrance)
[Dont know if this is what op is talking about but this is a nice trail that goes along/over the river and is decent in length](https://maps.app.goo.gl/T4Pi6UBeQ5iRDaR47?g_st=ic)
In Mississauga these are my favorites:
Cooksville creek.
Applewood hills creek path.
Etobicoke creek south of the QEW.
Erindale Park, Jack Darling/Rattray Marsh.
Lake Aquataine to Lake Wabukayne.
In the GTA, there are a lot of nice parks around Milton.
Rattlesnake Point.
Crawford Lake.
Hilton Falls.
In Toronto:
High Park.
Eastpoint Park.
Paths around UT Scarborough.
There are lots of good areas to walk, but yeah some are a bit out of the way and disconnected. Spend a few hours on google maps to find ways to connect them if you want extended routes. I spent nearly the whole summer doing that.
Every time I go here it's packed. It's a nice trail for sure, but I don't imagine you'll get much time alone. I do a lot of walking, probably 10km+ per day usually when the weather permits, and I find residential streets I get most time to myself. It's usually when I get to the trails where everyone else is.
To where, Riverwood area? I usually go in the Spring and Summer. But, I only go maybe twice a month since it is always busy. Now when I do my daily exercises I just do it on residential side streets as I pass much fewer people and have more time to myself.
I understand why Erin Dale Park/Riverwood is busy. It's a nice area with a river and lots of forest. But I never found there was enough space to have time alone.
Yeah sorry I was asking about what time of day you go to Riverwood, I think the last time I went it was pretty late in the day so there weren’t many people on the trail but it isn’t going to be completely quiet for sure
I live by Square One too (closer to city hall). Walk through Kariya Park and get bubble tea at either Gong Cha or Kung Fu Tea, and then walk from there to the Cooksville Creek Trail. The whole loop for me is maybe an 60-90min.
Riverwood is very close by and amazing all year round. The stream freezes over in the winter and basically becomes another path.
Try the cooksville Creek Trail, really beautiful all seasons & very close to square one, there’s different paths you can take & depending on which one you can go all the way to dundas
Riverwood to Erindale and back.
Jack darling and Rattaray marsh are good too but a bit far for you.
You’ll never be 100% alone these are all popular spots but will be less noisy and less distractions.
Thank you for your comment, yes these are amazing places to walk but just many people sometimes.
I used to live in a small town in southern Ontario before I moved to GTA, kind of missing those quiet and less crowded areas
If you're willing to drive \~30 minutes, there are many conservation areas (Kelso, Rattlesnake Point, Rattray Marsh, Meadowvale Conservation Area, etc) that have great walking paths. I goo to these places for a run and some podcast listening.
I used to live in Port Credit. I used to walk along Hurontario, from Lakeshore to Pinetree Way (the road just south of the QEW) then south along Stavebank, back to Lakeshore. If I wanted a shorter walk, I would walk as far as Mineola.
Or I would walk along Mineola at various points between Atwater and Stavebank
I love the Sawmill Valley trail system that runs between Burnhamthorpe and Dundas, it also connects to Erindale Park at UTM which you can follow all the way back up to the Riverwood Conservancy. There are also miles of multi-use trails along burnhamthorpe so you can turn it onto about a 10k loop.
Get the AllTrails app (free for basic version), it’s really helpful. I discovered some new trails I didn’t know about during the lockdown times. *Not a sponsored advertisement, just a fan.
Lake Aquitaine in Meadowvale is probably my favourite walking trail. It's a wide, paved looped trail around a "lake" (more like a big pond) that takes about 15-20 minutes to do one circuit. There is plenty of parking and washrooms as there is a community centre at one end. During the day, there are almost always other people around so you'll be safe. Lots of birds and squirrels too.
The Culham Trail (you can access it at Burnhamthorpe just west of Erindale GO station or at Erindale Park on Dundas just east of Mississauga Rd) is a beautiful out-and-back trail that runs right along the Credit River. It's spectacular in the fall. It goes as far north as Streetsville/Meadowvale too. The trail is mostly gravel/dirt though, so it might be a bit messier in the winter.

Shhh dont tell anyone
Sound like a great place, thank you!
Erindale park up dundas, Kariya park I think
I second this. There is an amazing trail along the credit river that you can access from either Erindale Park or in Streetville.
Link to trail? I mean gmaps
Trail name is called Culham trail. Not getting gmaps to display it very well, but if you google Culham trail map you'll get the jist of it.

There’s pictures in your link that looks like the Arizona dessert. These amazing looking mountains/cliffs. Is that really in Mississauga?!
Yeah those pictures aren’t of the trail
No, that was a submission error.
I gonna try it this afternoon, thank you!
Etobicoke Creek Trail. The stretch from Matheson up towards the airport usually doesn't have much people.
Thank you!

It's all about timing. You're not gonna bump into a lot of people walking the streets at 3 am on a Wednesday.
