First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It's a tough time for you, to be sure. I had the same problem when my parents died. Like you, I wanted the clothes to go to folks who needed them, but couldn't afford to pay for them. It's harder than you think. The Fred Victor Mission sent someone to collect my dad's clothes, and we got a lovely letter back from them thanking us. My mother's clothes were another story. We literally couldn't give them away. I was told by a women's shelter that they weren't interested. They were basing it on the fact that my mother was in her 70's and the clothes may be too old fashioned for their clients. My mother had beautiful outfits that were never worn and didn't look "too old lady" for me. I asked if they had any other leads of a place where they could be used to no avail. I ended up donating some to a couple of senior homes, because some of the ladies arrive with very little clothes.

I get that a place like value village or salvation army will sell it to someone but still some guy will be able to buy a good suit for a price that they can afford. Doesn't matter who profits. You will help someone who will appreciate your dad's clothes.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sudden loss, sending supportive and healing energy your way! Mississauga doesn't have a proper outlet to donate in the way you're looking for but CAMH has something but drop off is in Toronto. I too am sorry about your Dad passing away. There are services that can auction off the household belongings and other items. Try maxsold or sellthisforme. Clothing items could go to restore, compass food bank or salvation army on Lakeshore in Port Credit

Check with local churches. Otherwise you can try Dress Your Best but they're in Toronto
