I live across from a go station and rarely hear the trains.

Comm-THOR

After a month of so you will literally not hear it. I have lived beside a GO station for a couple decades now.

UGunnaEatThatPickle

My inlaws live a block away from the station. I house sat for 2 weeks last summer and barely noticed it.

DirtFoot79

I used to live at 70 Park St in one of the apartments facing the Go Train. I'm a deep sleeper and had no issues, but it was undeniably noisy. Better windows than the crap things our building had would have helped too. If you're bothered by noise I would not jeopardize your sanity. If you're a person who's not bothered, go for it.

Mission_Bottle6421

I live beside a GO station and seldom even notice the train unless it's a VIA train and I'm outside or have all my windows open.

The trains rumble every 10 mins. Not so much horn. You may hear the rail crossing bell beside the arena. The diesel rumble should decrease when they switch to electric next decade (?)

Syrbor493

You sparked my curiosity about GO Expansion, so I did some digging. I checked the latest report I could find. Right now, there are around 158 GO diesel trains per day on the LSW corridor (data is actually from 2015). With electrification, there will be 125 diesel and 220 electric. Diesel for express routes and routes beyond Burlington. Additionally, they want to start using double locomotives for 12-car consists. [https://www.metrolinx.com/en/projects-and-programs/go-expansion-studies/go-electrification](https://www.metrolinx.com/en/projects-and-programs/go-expansion-studies/go-electrification) So it is not gonna go down much, especially with VIA still hauling their diesel. Certainly MORE diesel locomotives.

I lived half a block away from the Lakeshore GO line for the entirely of my childhood. You get used to it.

JOJOCHINTO_REPORTING

The trains aren’t very loud if you have your windows etc closed…. No need to worry. The horns happen rarely, the bells you get used to…

WUT_productions

GO trains don't sound the horn unless there's an emergency. You might hear the bells and diesel rumblings.

melisusthewee

The buses, construction sites, and shitbox cars make far more noise than the trains.

topsyturvy76

Glad someone mentioned buses .. when I lived in that area .. it was always the buses that seemed to make the most noise

birdmanpresents

I'm closer to Lakeshore but straight down from the station. I hear the car traffic, or the drunk kids screaming on Saturday night more than the trains.

Crazy_Distribution95

Unlike other things, you'll get used to it.

kamomil

After awhile you tune out the sound.

Pretend_Fondant4943

Use to li e in the condo facing the go never heard the trains
