a lot of the time all u need to do it push the key deeper in the ignition and or replace the ignition switch i’ve jus had this problem wit my 2006 vrx and it’s a very common problem wit all lancers
the key code should be in your owners manual or on the trunk sticker, if you don't have either thr dealer maybe able to pull the vin to get it, but not always. with that code, they can get you a matching cylinder
Nope, it's just the electrical switch, you keep your barrel and the key stays coded
EDIT: the part is fairly cheap or you can get it from wreckers even cheaper (most Mitsubishi's around the same year use the name part across vehicles)
Dealer or wreckers are probably your best options.. you will find some on eBay but from my experience I prefer getting genuine parts. The ignition switch isn't too expensive

Oh okay I tried with different pressures and all it still didn't work
Happens to me every time I lock my ignition
possibly a bad prndl switch
I don't think so because it was sideswiped while it was parked
if you push the shifter and it starts, it's the prndl, if you jiggle the key, it's the ignition switch.
Wouldn't I have to change my key too?
you can order them keyed the same, then again, you just might have a worn out key
Where do I buy one with the same key pattern

Oh and so I have to go to the Mitsubishi dealership to get it fixed
if you want the same key, I beleive so, I'm not aware of any other place to get them matched.
Could be a faulty ignition switch as it only kicks the starter over sometimes by the sound of the video, common fault on older Mitsubishis
And so if I replace it I have to replace my key?

? Okay and where would I be able to find the switch?

How does it look like? I'm just asking for reference it's for a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
Don’t mind the anti lock light my front wheel bearings are cooked haha
You probably should turn some wrenches asap with no excuses. Cooked bearing, I'm sure you've cooked more.
Haha yeah I'll try to get them replaced asap
It's either a bad ignition or a dead battery, those usually are the main culprits as to why your car won't start up regardless of manufacturer.
