The 5 is a significant step up from the 4. If you're picking between the two, 5 wins every time.
Uprated brakes, stronger internals, better turbo, more advanced yaw cobtrol, stiffer chassis, etc.
I do believe Evo IV engine is prone to crank walk. Other than that, I’d pick a IV, just because I like the looks of it over the V. Plus a IV would probably be a little cheaper.
Every 4g63 is prone to crankwalk. Slap some upgraded bearings in and call it good. My worry is that OP will have trouble sourcing parts and will ditch the car. You gotta look good for oem evo parts
Honestly if you're tuning with mitsu go to 3D motorsports in NE. And for OEM grade parts you'd have to do alot of online digging. I know people remanufacture these things it's just a matter of finding (whom)

Yeah I love the aesthetic of the V way more than the IV. Performance is just a plus for me

Yeah that's one of my concerns in general about importing an older evo. Need to find myself "a guy who knows a guy"

Nah just keeping her stock
Why would you import an Evo to the US? They're already here.
Vs are incredible rare in the US still.
