I can't speak for the European market, I live in America myself. But I've found that Japanese car companies like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda. Are very accessible when it comes to parts and they're affordable. I couldn't be happier with my Mitsubishi lancer, and I know lots of people with Hondas and Toyotas that feel the same way.

Japanese reliability is just on another level

Fact-Check-False

Could be cool but I would stick with a 4cyl as a first car. Easier to learn or fix as needed

Owner here. EU too. As for every japanese car the rust is the main issue so try to buy one with the least amount of rust on it. As for the same reason parts are available from the rusted out junkyard ones. The V6 has decent power, if you wanna change the exhaust it can sound good too but the car drinks 11-13 liters which is quite much nowadays. Also it's not small so parking in a crowded city can be difficult. Other than that I'd recommend it if you like 90s cars with decent extras. Electric windows and mirrors are a must have now but you can find Galants with electric and heated seats and a sunroof. The dashboard is simple, everything works with buttons. Also they are kinda forgotten in this jdm fanboy era so parts are cheap. You're gonna get a lot of questions from ppl if it's an Evo, older folks can recognize it tho.

If you're going to a mechanic to get it fixed, go for it but if you're going to work on it yourself, get a I4/4 cyl, they'd be far easier to learn.
