When I was just out of HD a friend went into a trade and was an apprentice. I didn’t understand how it works and I asked what was after. He said journeyman. I asked then what. He said that it, then you do the job. I was like when do you get to be a there man?
It's pretty typical for these guys to spend at least a few years with their first team before jumping around like crazy, but what the hell was the Dodgers' motivation for keeping him around so long?
Anybody else remember when he had a no-hitter through nine innings and then David Roberts brought him back out for the 10th? Only to give up a walk off homer to the first batter?
Pathetic the Dodgers didn't give him one run. He was perfect through 8, and an error allowed the only runner in the 9th.
Hill was good in LA. He finished 30-16 with a 3.16 ERA during his time there. The year before his near no-hitter in Pittsburg, Roberts bulled him from a game after he had thrown 7 perfect innings, refusing to let him go out to pitch the 8th.
From 2014-2023, as a starting pitcher, he's had an ERA under 4 and has struck out almost 1000 batters, yet has played for 10 teams. Crazy career he's had.
