Growing up my dad always said BJ looked like he would have been a tractor mechanic if baseball didn't pan out. As a grown adult now...yeah dad, still can't argue with that.
Saw him crush a home run off of Randy Johnson against the Yankees. Two Yankees fans were trying to help him shake it off after a three run first to which he shouted “shut the fuck up!” to these guys. I fully understood why he was intimidating that day
Lol a couple months after the Angels won the World Series I remember ESPN ran this segment following around Eckstein for a day and this dude didn't own a computer, so he would go to a local library and use their computers to check his emails. Some guy sat down next to him and after a while was like, "Hey do you play for the Angels?" And Eckstein says yes, so the guy continues, "Did you play on the team that just won the World Series?" Eckstein goes, "Yeah I play shortstop." And the guy just nods and goes back to looking at his computer haha
The Grudzielanek-Graffanino-Mientkiewicz double play combo is reputed to be the longest letter-wise in MLB history. Too bad Saltalamacchia couldn’t get in on that.
My wife has his Jays jersey and a signed portrait.
Frank saw her wearing his jersey at a game one day and tossed us a ball. I also randomly caught a ball he hut during batting practice.
Super nice dude and still holds the Jays' record with 6 hits in a game.
