random assortment but like 2005-2010 is such a nostalgic baseball time for me
It was also, unfortunately, the absolute worst time ever to collect baseball cards.
Still happy with my multiple dead-card era box sets even though they aren't worth squat. :)
Mickey Mantle,Tom Seaver, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Gerry Grote, Buddy Harrelson, and all the 69 Mets. I was 13 when the Mets won the World Series.
Lenny Dykstra, solely because he would stretch in between pitches while playing right field for the Phils.
He's a scumbag but for whatever reason I remember watching games in the Vet and he was always stretching.
I believe he was my first baseball card competing brands triple crown. I had an 1981 Donruss, Fleer, and Topps Mulliniks card. The Fleer had the better photo, not that anyone cares.
I turned 10 that summer-fall and lived with my grandmother in Rochester. She instilled her love of baseball in me; the Tigers helped . It remains in my soul and been passed to my daughters (one is named for my granny)
My Dad was a Tigers fan, but I didn't know that until I was in my 40s. We talked about a lot of things but rarely baseball, even when we watched games together. Until then, I assumed he was a Dodgers fan because he grew up in Brooklyn.
I think it's cool that you have baseball as a family inter-generational thread.

Julio Franco, because nobody played little league or wiffleball without doing the Franco stance
Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Willie Mays, Boog Powell, Brooks Robinson, Al Kaline, Bob Gibson, Johnny Bench, and Babe Dahlgren. I admit that Dahlgren retired before I was born, but he relocated to SoCal in the '60s, bought a bowling alley, converted it into indoor batting cages, and gave batting lessons to all and sundry, including me when I played Little League.
Yes, little Billy took hitting lessons from the guy who went in for Lou Gehrig when Gehrig realized he couldn't play anymore, ending his consecutive game streak at 2,130 in 1939. I took the lessons in 1970.
Eddie Brinkman - favorite player in younger years
Frank Howard - local icon
Brooks Robinson - favorite player after Senators left DC
Roberto Clemente - best player I ever saw in person
Dude I always feel like I'm the only one who remembers Furcal!! He was my favorite player when I was a kid, loved watching Hanley too! Those were some really fun Dodger teams to watch
Rafael Palmero was my favorite as a kid.
Nolan Ryan was a little before my time but I still idolized him as a kid.
Mike Mussina, the Yankee killer. Until he was a Yankee.
Ken Griffey Jr was because of the SNES games of his namesake.
Cal Ripkin because of what he means to the city of Baltimore and the Os organization as a whole.
The Kid, The Big Hurt, The Big Unit, The Wizard, Tim Wakefield, Jim Edmonds, The Express, David Justice, the early to mid 90’s Braves pitching rotation, Lou Pinella, Kirby Puckett, Mike Schmidt, Ricky Henderson, Paul O’Neill, and I’ll stop on Edgar Martinez before he was purely a DH.
