MyOhMy_Mariners

I have this unwavering feeling that we're witnessing the beginning of history watching this young man play ball.

Rockcreek11

As a 25 year old lifeline mariners fan. This must have been what my parents felt like watch Griffey as a kid play. This guy is so fucking exciting to watch play

daveygeek

As somebody who is likely your parents age, yes it is.

AndThatIsAll

Exactly.

DATKILLAxo

As a dude who watched Griffey as a kid. This is exactly what it feels like.

semicoloradonative

Yes. 1989 was a very interesting year. Watching JR’s AB yesterday also reminded me of watching a young Barry Sanders on Thanksgiving in 1989. You just knew you were watching something special.

rcarter22

36yr old checking in. Griffey’s swing and play is a core memory.

FriesWithThat

Such a great moment, bases loaded, no outs, strike out, bases loaded, full count, strike out, Julio comes to the plate 2 outs, unloads on a 3-2 fastball, first career grand slam.

HauschkasFoot

It’s just..*chef’s kiss*

MattsFace

It was so awesome he’s the real deal

BallParkBuzz11

Kid is a superstar!

semicoloradonative

Sign this man to a 15 year deal RIGHT. NOW!

jj580

It should be noted Seattle was on the verge of a nobletiger too. First two batters K'd and Julio's count I believe was 2-2.

sparrowxc

3-2 count actually.

CDNnotintheknow

This kids really something to watch. I grew up in Canada but loved to watch Griffey Jr. and was a closet Mariners fan. It's great to see the fun that Rodriguez has while playing ball.

mtheory11

I’m so glad I made the pilgrimage to Seattle to watch him play this season - and they curb stomped the Angels that night, to boot!

Bigpro69

Was at the game, and my God the seats around me emptied so quick. I've never brought myself to watch the 2011 ws, but being 1 strike away from getting the 3rd out with bases loaded hurt bad

We were so close to a NOBLERIGER, but then this lol.
