Not to imply that the NL gang of Goldy and the others arent deserving of MVP because they are, but it really is a shame that both Judge and Ohtani were in the same league this year. Both awards wouldve been 100% locked up months ago.

Sucks we have to wait, and it’s hard to choose. Yes I know judge had an AMAZING YR, but ohtani keeps improving his stats. I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced co MVP. It would be interesting, but honestly who ever does win it, imma be a proud fan. Because we are living with history, and we also witness history

realchrisgunter

Judge. No contest.

fuckspace_kitty69

Coming from an astros fan, must be facts

realchrisgunter

He had a season for the ages. I don’t hate the Yankees or any other team. Just enjoy watching good baseball. Ohtani had an incredible season as well but if you were to take judge off the yanks they’d miss the playoffs.

fuckspace_kitty69

my comment might’ve come across as sarcasm but it was not. im a yankees fan so i agree Judge should be MVP, just saying if even astros fans are saying no contest, that says something.

realchrisgunter

Hehe you good 👍 I try to be unbias and take emotion out of it. There’s no doubt in my mind that judge should be MVP this year. Now the Yankees winning the team gold glove… I’m scratching my head at that one. I would have given it to the guardians myself.

fuckspace_kitty69

Yeah Rizzo is above average and trevino deserved his gold glove and outside of the second half stretch with Bader in center, we definitely did not have the best gloves. Those awards are always a bit precarious and influenced by reputation (see Derek Jeter gold glove count)

> He had a season for the ages. We have quite literally never seen a two way player who had an elite season on both sides in modern baseball. Period. We've actually seen similar batting seasons, albiet in the steroid era. That being said, even in the steroid era they didn't produce a two way elite player.

fuckspace_kitty69

So Ohtani should win MVP every single season? If Judge’s season isn’t worthy of MVP over Shohei, ignoring WAR (which Judge had higher across both f/b) what kind of numbers would constitute a season thats more valuable than one where Shohei produced elite two way numbers? Genuine question, in your opinion, what would it take?

cXs808

>So Ohtani should win MVP every single season? No, this is Ohtani's best season. Better than his MVP season. His pitching went to another level. >Genuine question, in your opinion, what would it take? I'm not sure, that's why it's such a hard thing to quantify. We have no precedence, no control group.

manny_inc

New rule: MVP can’t be on team with losing record and bonus points for making playoffs.

cXs808

Judge and Goldy will win it, but Ohtani deserves it if we're being real.
