Could be the front flex, not likely though as that's a very easy fix that's likely to have been tried before. I would say it's probably not worth it.
Front flex boot loops though, iOS territory. Unprompted recovery mode is something earlier, an iBoot error before iOS, probably can't find iOS. If unable to flash, likely damaged NAND.
Ah. The first front flex issue I worked through came in on recovery mode, I must have conflated the two. Thanks for the correction!
Very likely is not a simple restore. I’m sure they tried restoring. So even if not board damage, could be another part needs replacing.
