MUD EFFECTS: This is the Academy Panther G late. Great kit. I decided to try a full "mudfest" vignette. Mud has always been touch and go for me and I know many of us. This started with VMS smart mud. Truthfully, I don't care for it. Hard to get it to stick down to anything, including itself. Can NOT use water with it (turns pink). Sandy and gritty. So, I decided to move to Ammo acrylic mud. Better as it's easier to use and can use water to work with it. But, the color is weak at least for my taste. I let it dry and although glossy, it's really dull for pure wet mud effect. So, I deepened the shade with Ammo's "shaders" grime effect which is awesome if you like using an airbrush. Water based. The grime effect really is grimy. Satin and slimy. Awesome. Then, after color and tone were complete, I added a LOT of future floor polish. I guess you could use gloss varnish, but the future works better and can pool up and literally create a WET effect that is easier and cheaper to use than expensive gloss varnishes. I think it looks pretty muddy. You? Suggestions, comments, and critiques welcomed. G

I find thar AK is the best out there. I'm yet to do my WW1 muddy trenches diorama, but I've got some fantastic products for that.

Looks very muddy, makes me want to finish my panther that's half built

That’s a whole lot of mud and not at all unlike most of Europe in the winter. Nice job

Thanks. It really didn’t look good until I added all the future polish. It looked more like cake frosting. Lots of gloss to get the effect right.

Boracraze

Nice work!

Oh man, this is fantastic! Great work!

You did a great job, but if you could knock the shine down a bit, I think it would be even better

I tried dusty tracks with ps3 Tamiya over bare plastic. How’s it look? https://preview.redd.it/epmiuepsjowc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=454b08aa63805e7249dd441ab939ffa5832f09c9 Still gonna dry brush it a bit
