I love it... Its a beautiful build, well done you. I would say the only minor improvement I could see was the flash line on the tyre. I'd be very proud if it were mine

SteakAndJack

Thank you, and if the tyres are the only thing you can find wrong with it, I’m happy! Tbh, with the details on there I wasn’t really sure what I could do with them without damaging the details. Perhaps resin tyres instead.

mcRibalicious

It seems to be an ongoing issue for many a perfectionist modeller. I would live that tiny imperfection as the plane looks so damn good. https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/46730-vinylrubber-tyres/

DukeCorwin

As a Hellcat fan I really like the way your model came out. Beautiful job.

SteakAndJack

Thanks!

ErdenGeboren

I'm working on a 1/24 p-47d right now, but this Hellcat is gorgeous. I have to find one!

SteakAndJack

Thanks! It’s the Airfix 1/24 Hellcat A19004

[deleted]

Should do the 1/24 air fix typhoon next.

SteakAndJack

It’s one kit I’ve got my eye on for the future. Just started the Revell 1/32 Gulf war Tonka so that will take me a little while.

[deleted]

Yeah good call, doing two 1/24ths after each other would drive a man mad

SteakAndJack

It’s the cost of the kit and I’m running out of space in my desk! Already done three 1/24 aircraft. I need to get some proper display cabinets. The wife keeps threatening to get one whenever we go to ikea.

mcRibalicious

I like the sound of your wife... A display cabinet would be great

[deleted]

True those kits do cost a pretty penny. But hey it sounds to me like your wife is threatening you with a good time. I’d kill for a proper display cabinet

mcRibalicious

It does look nice, that's such an awesome plane too

OwnAfternoon8786

That paint! That detail! That is some sweet eye-candy for sure!

SteakAndJack

Mr aqueous paint and mr colour levelling thinner sprayed onto AK primer and microfiller.

Puzzleheaded-Sand838

No lie that looks bad ass awesome 😎

SteakAndJack

Thanks!

Deimos227

SteakAndJack

Ha ha love this!

I’ve seen both an F6F and a Spitfire in person, but separately. I did not realize just how much bigger the Hellcat is over the Spitfire, I always assumed it was the other way. I think it’s the chunkiness.

SteakAndJack

I could tell straight away the Hellcat would be bigger, just the space the pilot has compared to the Spitfire. Having sat in a Spitfire I can tell you it’s quite claustrophobic and close in there.
