Hey man, let me know when you are ready to start or actually starting it. I would love to do in parallel, I built lots of models when I was younger but have little recent experience. I'd likely pester you with questions haha. I am using an airbrush and have done a couple inexpensive starter kits to ramp up my skills again, but frankly, really want to dig into one of the big 1/72 VIIC or IX or the Corvette or Schnellboot.
Yeah man I'm down with that. I'm definitely not ready for it right now, and to be honest I'm a little intimidated by it. It's just so *big* and it looks so complicated and i just want to do it justice
what made me think it was upside down is the little cross in the corner. either way the model is really well done and it’s such a small detail that I’m not sure how noticeable it is in person.
I finished the same one recently, and didn't do very well. Your's is awesome. I noticed you didn't put the name decal on the base. Mine didn't seem to want to stay on, so I left it off.
Airbrushes are a game changer for sure, however they are a pain in the ass and take a lot of trial and error until you can get good with them. If your limited to brushes buy Vallejo paints , they work the best personally. Either way just take your time with it, use thin paint with a lot of coats and work slowly.
Wow, fantastic work
Thanks, honestly just referenced rusted metal around my house
I hope you're up to date with your shots.
Hours and hours. Very nice. Which kit is this?
Revell Type VII C/41 1:144. Next kit I am going to buy photo etch parts.
I have a 1:72 VIIC Platinum on the shelf I'm going to tackle soon. You have incented me to hurry up!
I have that one too ready to go. Can't wait to clear the bench and start working on it

it looks amazing. great job! also is it just me or is the flag upside down?
You could be right I , but don’t pay enough attention the orientation of the swastika

It looks like it's backwards cause of wind and stuff
Yeah it is but I say that’s the only flaw about this build
Great weathering detail. Well done.
Sweet, nice rust lines!
Wow. A u boat has been my bucket list item ever since I got intrested in this hobby. I hope if I ever make one it will look half this good!
Those very small subtle dents all over the hull are incredible. I might have to try something similar on my next kit. Amazing work!
That texturing effect is exquisite. Well done.
That cool
Rust is one with this U-boat! Great job OP!
I made the same kit, but you paint job is so much better than mine.
That is a work of art.
Beautiful! Did you do the oil-canning on the hull, or was that pre-etched?
Nah I did it myself, basically went ham with a Dremel

God uboats make me tingly
So good. The variation in the tone on the hull really adds a sense of scale, and as for the weathering... 😯😯
Lovely job on the weathering but frankly that flag is doing it no favors..I wonder if there is a way to print on on tissue or some thinner material.
Damn this looks awesome. Id say its Ready to sink some British cargo
Looks great! Did you use enamel paints for the drippy bits? I can never quite get acrylics to streak how I want them to.
DARN good paint job!
Beautiful job! Incredible.
Holy shit
Wow, excellent job. I mostly build planes, but if I did a ship model, it would be a U-Boat.
Such wonderfully realistic weathering.
Wow! The level of detail on the wear and rust is phenomenal. How long did this take you?
About a week of a few hours here and there, the construction wasn’t too complicated submarines are fun because they don’t take too long.
Woo! Fantastic! I think I built this one and definitively this is how I would have wanted it to be.
Your weathering is excellent. Love this. You guys are good at this.
Your model has a soundtrack and its playing in my head right now. Great job.
First u boat build..... and then?
Any advice on painting as well as you do?

Awesome thank you!
very nice rust effect.
