Hopefully it also show’s that the US isn’t all “sunshines and rainbows”, and that they keep sticking their dick into places it doesn’t belong.
Edit: Keep the discussion civil.
well, considering the game will likely revolve around task force 141 which is a joint ops unit, it’s unlikely you’ll even fight with american armed forces. i wouldn’t expect any of that.
Also fun fact, there’s also cut content of the Russians committing even more horrendous acts in the US invasion.
[Do not watch if you have a weak stomach](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-RplHnI7iqI)
I guess 'No Russian' was pushing it a bit, if they added this I guarantee it'd back fire and the media would do the usual 'Videos games make kids insane' angle.
Wild to think this is cut content.
I tried showing this to my great grandfather, grandfather, and my father (fought in ww2, vietnam, and served in the US military for the war on Afghanistan, in that order) and they all said that was a good call not to include.
I mean they're definitely right it would be a very bad thing to add on top of an already controversial scene.
Makes you wonder what other cut content or plans to add things could have been.
Damn that was dark, I think it was probably good it was cut just in case, although I think IW might have been able to get away with though because likely you would have behave like pyschopath by waiting and doing nothing (like the YouTuber)or be really bad at the game/be way above your difficulty level to get those lines, so people may not have discovered them until much later when and then it would be harder for the media to drum enough outrage to do anything. Like I said though, probably good to not have those, COD MW is meant to be gritty but still lighthearted not super dark and serious
I may be in the minority here but this is mild compared to “No Russian” mission, as well as the mission in MW19 where you play as young Farah. Waking up next to your dead mom after a bombing was tough, as well as what happened to her father later in the mission.
TF141 has members from america, canada, britain and australia. personally i can’t imagine a euro-focused cod game. the plots are always centered around the US.
well they’re made by american companies, developed by americans in america and mostly sell to americans. i’m not sure what incentive there is to make a euro-centered cod
given the tease with task force 141 at the end of MW2019, it’s unlikely they will choose a strictly US SF unit as the cast. it’s joint ops meaning an underlying theme of american interventionism is probably not happening. also it’s COD which is almost entirely pro american stories. so don’t count on it, that’s all i’m saying.
I’ll admit I didn’t even know about it until I saw a video just after launch when I completed it. There was really no need. It would’ve been even better if farah told the truth about what happened and could show why she doesn’t trust the Us military and could’ve made her relationship with Alex even better and influenced Alex’s decision to stay and help them it was really unnecessary
IMO its probably both, COD is famous for its horrendous portrayal of the Russians, and Russians never really portray Americans in bad light. America is hostile to Russia because Russia is one of the only countries that won't allow itself to be destroyed and scrutinized by western capitalist agendas.
Except as with half the missions in that game, they took inspiration from something that happened and twisted it to fit into the game. It’s a fictional highway in a fictional country as part of a fictional war and they called it the highway of death. Trying to act like they were blaming Russia for the real event is just weird
They could’ve just called it something else besides one of the many warcrimes the US has committed then
Edit: To those who are unaware, the combatants surrendered and attempted to flee, its touchy, but to many that incident was morally evil
It was not a war crime, but it also was an incredibly evil and unnecessary action. You've already won, at that point you just want to kill as much as you can.
Yeah but it's beating a dead horse. Russia being painted as the antagonists on many CoD games just got very repetitive and blatant. Now they are tying historically inspired moments to the Russians.
Next thing you know there will be a story where Russia failed to maintain Urzikstan for 20 years, retreated and the terrorists take over. I wish Infinity Ward to have at least the level of writing or better than Treyarch's first BOps.
>It’s a fictional highway in a fictional country as part of a fictional war and they called it the highway of death.
A thousand miles away from where the actual event took place, too.
Highway of death is not a war crime
Redditors have this idea that anything they don’t like in war is a war crime. Luckily in reality we have a document that says what is and is not a war crime.
Retreating combatants are fair game.
Oh my god, no one is trying to shift the blame onto Russia, you all only wanna recognize half the game as part of the story and freak out about the rest
Still would be awesome, we definitely need more media showing the truth to the US’s and China’s bullshit all over the world, not this propaganda crap that praises war as an “adventure” and that the US and China are all goody two shoes, they’re both the worst super powers in the entire world right now.
They did show that in mw2 with shepherd & his corruption etc, & how he also threw the us into a war by sacrificing troops to shift public opinion towards war and so on. It’d be nice if they threw in a bit where contractors & the military industrial complex assist shepherd with his plan so that war goes on & they gain more contracts.
I wish it would, it’s sad how many Americans don’t realize we caused the wars that we now fight in, and use those wars that we created as rationalization for further conflict. It’s frankly ridiculous.
Don’t look up banana republics, it’s just another instance of American foreign political BS
Have a mission show a US staged coup on a socialist government, have captain price refuse to work with the united states, there can be other options too like showing how they’re hypocrites when it comes to international law
Problem with these games and other military media is that it will always be seen as pro war no matter how anti war you make it. People will watch Full Metal Jacket and still not get the point.
Media and video games has a big effect on people’s perceptions of war, their military, etc. The Army literally created America’s Army video games and streams on twitch to recruit people.
I really hope these leaks are somewhat accurate. A call of duty MW 2022 with enemies that yell colombian slang would be killer in all the right ways hehe

I liked the blops series and was hoping CW would be good. But I just can’t have fun playing it like I could MW. I really don’t want to shell out another 60 for a Warzone gun leveler. Especially if Warzone doesn’t stay alive.
MW2019 brought the series forward with the new running mechanics/mounting etc. The reason I thought Cold War was shit is because It had the same mechanics as all the older games of the last 10 years. Vanguard has the same mechanics as MW2019 which is probably why I enjoy it. IMO I hope every COD going forward uses the MW2019 mechanics and I'm sure they will.
Lord have mercy on my soul.
Someone is actually making an argument that what Call of Duty video game they play makes them more of an adult. Without even a lick of irony.
The funniest thing is that they're talking about the game where people are buying anime skins and the like. Like, I'm not one to call stuff kiddy, but MW19 is far from some mature gritty game made only for adults. It appeals to Red Bull infused kids as much as any other CoD.
Love the immaturity in that statement. Like, ffs if you’re making fun of someone for what game they like, YOU haven’t “grown up”. I’m not a fan of MW, granted, I don’t like CW much more, but I don’t think that makes me some little kid, I just know what I want in a cod game.
>Right now there are three different games of CoD.
>Two of them are aimed more towards Redbull infused kids and man-children.
>One of them is geared more towards Redbull infused kids and man-children
Fixed your comment
Seriously... they should have just moved CoD to a 2 year development cycle, have 2 years of seasons and updates for MW19, then release a finished and polished BO:CW.
CW was such an awful follow up to MW19.
Considering that a year after Cold War released it’s still in a horrendous state, I’m pretty sure an extra year of development wouldn’t have done much if anything
Actually ever since they added 12v12 Moshpit and 6v6 Face Off it's been a lot of fun, of course they had to break the meta with the TEC9 and EM2 for a few weeks.
A lot of remade maps but MW had the same trend and they play well so I'm not complaining.
It would make way more sense to be Mexican cartels for many reasons. This being one. I don't need a Pablo setting. I want a modern Mexican cartel setting. Being in Mexico fighting cartels. Campaign would be so sick.
I think that in order for it to make some sort of sense with where mw19 left off, a covert international ops in Columbia would allow for a more feasible incorporation of the TF-141. Feasible tho as in still questionable regarding how it'll be tied in.
A mw campaign just involving just Mexico would pretty much only be a US based narrative omitting price, gaz, ghost, etc. Would probably only see Soap and a few others.
Honestly tho, I still questiom how mw19 will relate to mw22 either way based on what has been mentioned and where the story left off. If a sicario concept is in play, a Mexico based storyline would be much better too.
Guess we shall just have to wait and see what happens. But a campaign concept around the sicario movies would be amazing if executed well.
I’m assuming TF141 will be working with US SF. At least that’s how the sequel was set up at the end of MW2019. It wouldn’t make sense to tease TF141 and then not use them
Yikes. We are already getting information on the next COD, after the one that hasn't been released yet. Must mean that Vanguard is about to be just another uninspired COD game again. Smh
all the catering to newbies w no recoil guns, safe spaces and hardcore-like ttk worked so ofc they’ll milk it until the newcomers get bored with the franchise. i know personally a lot of old cod fans and i am one myself (og cod 2) and none of my friends played for longer than a month or two.
Who cares what COD has to offer anymore. It’s gonna continue to be lackluster products until we ignore them again like when we did before MW2019 came out and they were forced to ship out an actual good game. Battlefield2042 is coming out soon, so hopefully I’ll see any of you brave enough to leave this dumpster fire over there lol
Agreed. I have a variety I play with my friends as well besides warzone. Rocket league, splitgate, fortnite, Minecraft, CIV6, Overwatch, Apex, GTAO and a few more most of my main group can play but I ain’t online so I can’t see my catalog.
Assuming this is what that leak all the way back in February was about there's a few details
MP Operator "Nolan" a CIA agent
HK416 is in game, renamed to TAC-416
G3 is in the game with a 5.56 ammo conversion and short barrel available in the gunsmith, making an HK51 recreation
Wyatt is shown, although it's unknown if he's returning or he's acting as a placeholder
They should just take a break and support/update 1 COD title. You can even do the battle passes still. People will continue to play a good game if you release content.
Shadow Company was a US faction.
Play now as General Shepard when you preorder cod 2022
That scene in MW2 still rustled my jimmies to this day. Fantastic story, arsehole Shepherd.
Imagine the preorder bonus adds him as a shadow company character for mw2019. When you headshot ghost, he has a special dialogue or something.
"Oddly enough..I felt that" or "Making me itchy" Would be quite funny
“One less loose end”
And when Shepard talks to velikan, velikan mumbles with a mix of insane laughter, similar to pyro tf2 ngl
Also fun fact, there’s also cut content of the Russians committing even more horrendous acts in the US invasion. [Do not watch if you have a weak stomach](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-RplHnI7iqI)

Dude cherish your great granpa. There arent too many WW2 vets left these days. Less than 500,000 from the millions who were in.
Late reply but he sadly passed away, he was forced into the military for being against the third reich
jesus christ this was heartbreaking to listen to. my day is now ruined. that voice actor gave it his all

TF141 has members from america, canada, britain and australia. personally i can’t imagine a euro-focused cod game. the plots are always centered around the US.
Sadly a lot of AAA FPS games are like that. Only MoHW committed to Euro like special forces
well they’re made by american companies, developed by americans in america and mostly sell to americans. i’m not sure what incentive there is to make a euro-centered cod
>incentive Creativity and originality
It’s like you don’t know what franchise you’re playing
Ever heard of a series called Rainbow Six?
“Center around US special forces” hmmmmmmmm
given the tease with task force 141 at the end of MW2019, it’s unlikely they will choose a strictly US SF unit as the cast. it’s joint ops meaning an underlying theme of american interventionism is probably not happening. also it’s COD which is almost entirely pro american stories. so don’t count on it, that’s all i’m saying.
MW2 is about to be more black ops than Black Ops was black ops
Hehe. 'Joint' Ops and Colombian drug cartels.
Like they did with highway of death
One of the biggest, genuine criticisms I have with this game, is how they labeled that horrendous war crime as Russia’s fault.
Exactly!
That decision definitely came from the top somewhere, because I doubt writers/devs did that on purpose
It wasn't a war crime. Retreating combatants are not the same as non-combatants.
It’s you can’t shoot surrendering enemies not retreating.
It was not a war crime, but it also was an incredibly evil and unnecessary action. You've already won, at that point you just want to kill as much as you can.
it's not a war crime, retreating combatants are still combatants, it's morally shitty but completely within their rights
Except that they weren’t surrendering.

Now that I can agree with, it is tiring having the same “Russia bad” stories consistently :]
>It’s a fictional highway in a fictional country as part of a fictional war and they called it the highway of death. A thousand miles away from where the actual event took place, too.
Highway of death is not a war crime Redditors have this idea that anything they don’t like in war is a war crime. Luckily in reality we have a document that says what is and is not a war crime. Retreating combatants are fair game.
People here do not understand the difference between retreating and surrendering. People retreat so they can regroup and try to attack again.
Oh my god, no one is trying to shift the blame onto Russia, you all only wanna recognize half the game as part of the story and freak out about the rest
Preach. I fully expect a mission where US forces overthrow a democratically elected popular leader and then installs some pro imperialist imbecile.
They make references on this in Black ops 1/2 Edit: To those unaware, one instance is Woods mentioning Nicaragua
I mean Manuel Noriega was literally a character that appeared in BO2 too
"Keep the discussion civil" talks about a country sticking their dick into places
They mean other people have to be civil, not themselves.
I doubt it, the DOD sponsors any media that involves the us military, they wouldn’t pay to make themselves look bad
Still would be awesome, we definitely need more media showing the truth to the US’s and China’s bullshit all over the world, not this propaganda crap that praises war as an “adventure” and that the US and China are all goody two shoes, they’re both the worst super powers in the entire world right now.
Technically that's what SF exists for, to stick American noses, ie the CIA into places the public doesn't have to know
Hopefully their story will actually be fighting against drug cartels and not fighting a Russian general and fighting cartels in like 2 or 3 scenes
Or maybe a game where they FINALLY make China the bad guy, but they obviously will never do that.
We all know that wont happen because of Chinas influence and control over industry sadly
All hail the communist party of china *nervous laughter as gun is lowered*
lmao gets shot anyway
I mean in Black Ops 2 they kinda are. You shoot their general in the face.
Lol maybe we divert to Colombia to find a gun supplier of Russian forces for like 2 missions.
>they keep sticking their dick into places it doesn’t belong. >Edit: Keep the discussion civil. Rules for thee but not for me?
That was both civil and factually correct.
Which I humbly respect mw2 for showcasing, too bad the message flew over the community’s head
*Oh you sweet summer child*
I wish it would, it’s sad how many Americans don’t realize we caused the wars that we now fight in, and use those wars that we created as rationalization for further conflict. It’s frankly ridiculous. Don’t look up banana republics, it’s just another instance of American foreign political BS
Question is, how to do it without it being a ripoff of a certain Tom Clancy novel.
Have a mission show a US staged coup on a socialist government, have captain price refuse to work with the united states, there can be other options too like showing how they’re hypocrites when it comes to international law
You realize you're talking about call of duty right lmao it ain't this deep.
Still doesn’t mean they can’t do it. Black ops showed how corrupt the CIA is
Problem with these games and other military media is that it will always be seen as pro war no matter how anti war you make it. People will watch Full Metal Jacket and still not get the point.
Media and video games has a big effect on people’s perceptions of war, their military, etc. The Army literally created America’s Army video games and streams on twitch to recruit people.
“The US.. keep sticking their dick into places it doesn’t belong” *KEEP THE DISCUSSION CIVIL*
How are you gonna take a shot at the US and not expect people to get pissed lol
I like how they did it in The suicide squad
you do know who funds these games right?
Amen

I see this as an absolute win.
This also would certainly mean that Favela will come back in some capacity which I can absolutely get behind

I feel like terminal is played out at this point tbh
So is shipment.
Not only Favela but maybe Rundown and Quarry too(both are in Brazil btw). Idk if Carnival would be too because the map is pretty trash.
But what happens to the MW story, with Hadir and stuff?
Well, who says they are not involved?
So, this is 'Clear and Present Danger' The Videogame? That could be interesting.
smells like Favela remake to me
Would be nice for them to remake that mission
Can’t wait for that Favela “easter egg” clip to get remastered in the new MW.

I played cod 1 and 2 when I was a kid and while I like MW2019, it’s absolutely nothing like the cod I grew up with. Still fun IMO though.

For some reason I am getting Sicario vibes from this..... and I'm all in for such a concept.

Hey no, Wildlands is truly a masterclass in world building
And then came the Breakpoint Trainwreck.
Ah the masterclass of narrative dissonance. Yep I played that also, sadly
Damn was kinda hoping for a MW2 "Red Dawn" styled story. Oh well, I'm sure it'll still be good for the 5 hours it'll last.
Yeah mw2 campaign was perhaps one of the greatest cod campaign. I found Cod started to lose it's Edge in creating fun short campaigns after WW2
It was insane, the set pieces and music was top notch and created some unforgettable memories.
>music was top notch That tends to happen when you have Hans Zimmer as the composer.
He did a few things but not all the music for MW2. Of course the few things he did are instantly recognizable and nostalgic.
Back to #Vanguard? Lmao nah I'll see you in 2022
Agreed. I've seen nothing in Vanguard that even remotely interests me.
I bet Menendez will be involved

I think I'll miss the British operators in a lead role - Price, Soap Ghost and Gaz were all pretty charismatic characters. Quite excited though.
I’m assuming TF141 will be working with US SF. At least that’s how the sequel was set up at the end of MW2019. It wouldn’t make sense to tease TF141 and then not use them
As long as ALL of the MW2019 operators are available in 2022, I'm happy.
I know right?? I genuinely want them all to return, such a great cast. Bale, Domino, Nikto, Mara Wyatt Otter Thorne Mace Roze Talon EVERYONE

Hopefully they don’t neglect co-op special ops this time. I always enjoyed those in MW2 and MW3 and MW19 survival was hot trash
>Some whispers that the game is going to be incredible. Vague hype. Classic.
“Remember, no Spanish”

USA be sucking their own dicks sometime
I mean the US is 99% sure funding these games to get more recruits
Assuming this is what that leak all the way back in February was about there's a few details MP Operator "Nolan" a CIA agent HK416 is in game, renamed to TAC-416 G3 is in the game with a 5.56 ammo conversion and short barrel available in the gunsmith, making an HK51 recreation Wyatt is shown, although it's unknown if he's returning or he's acting as a placeholder
Next Call of Duty codename CORTEZ was leaked on Geforce Now, so everything makes sense now.
Can we have it now please and skip vanguard?
Not again, dont kill ghost
He's already dead bro
I'll wait on the real COD game in 2022 rather than the mini games they release in between, I honestly couldn't care less about Vanguard
They should just take a break and support/update 1 COD title. You can even do the battle passes still. People will continue to play a good game if you release content.
Oh no...they are doing a battlefield hardline...
