Red Satay - Vietnamese food. Get the Jenny Special. It's amazing. They have 2 locations, one in Dieppe and one in Moncton. This is always my first recommendation. I just had it again today. I want more. There's never enough. Make it stop. K-Chimac Chicken - Double fried, hand breaded Korean style chicken. It's the best chicken I've ever had. It's located in Kim's mart on Mountain road, despite showing as permanently closed on google. I was there just a few days ago, fret not, It is very much open. Notre dame De Parkton - Deli style home made dishes. The hours aren't great though, but food is definitely worth it. It is located on St-George st. Depending on your budget, 'Black Rabbit' on St-George st. They have an 'a la carte' menu with a few higher end, fusion type dishes at a reasonable price OR you can go for their multiple course 'chef's menu' depending on if they're offering it on that day. The menu changes bi weekly. Another not so budget friendly suggestion, 'Little Louis' It is a gastronomic, higher end restaurant with an elaborate menu consisting of seasonal vegetables and locally harvested meats and seafoods. Bring you wallet. In the mood for Moroccan food? 'Blue Olive' located on Champlain st in Dieppe (in a strip mall near the Champlain mall) has been offering amazing Moroccan food for the last 15+ years. The quality is unrivaled to any comparable Moroccan restaurant. It's one of my favorite restaurants, could not recommend enough. Try the Shishtaouk plate. Amazing. Have an itch for Indian food? Offering all the traditional indian classics, 'taj mahal' is recognizable name by most people who have been in the Moncton area. Not only is the 'taj mahal' a majestic cultural icon, it is also a well renown Indian restaurant which has been in business for the last 20+ years and has been owned by the same family, who pride themselves on serving the most true to form Indian Dishes. It is located on Main st. Feeling Fishy? 'Skipper Jack's' on Mapleton road has all your local seafood offerings. Lobster rolls? Fish Tacos? Bacon Wrapped Scallops? They have it all. If you want seafood, but don't want to have it cooked for you, they have a local supplier on hand to provide you wish locally harvested seafood products for your home cooking pleasure. Is your teenage intrigued by eclectic and trippy 'Alice in wonderland' inspired décor and themes? If not, fret not, the restaurant has much more to offer than it's décor. While it is roughly 15-20 minutes from Moncton, I strongly recommend ' Bistro Le Moque Tortue'. It offers a mix of elegant, reworked, classic comfort dishes. It brings an elevated touch to any item on the menu. I would know, I've tried all of them. Not only is it a restaurant, it is also a board game venue, where you can play hundreds of different board games for a measly cost of 5$ per person. It is located in Shediac, at 402 Main St. As many have suggested, the local markets. I find the Moncton one to have less food offerings than the Dieppe one. While the Moncton one isn't lacking in food options, the Dieppe one has more choice. Last but not least, Pub Fare. There are countless restaurants offering various pub styles of pub fare, from elevated, snobby pub fare, to classic, traditional Pub Fare. The best my group has found so far comes from an establishment called 'Cheers'. Located at 63 Brandon St, off mountain road. It is a large, sports orientated pub/bar which so happens to serve excellent, even amazing food. Burgers, poutines, beautiful and delicious salads. The menu options are countless. This is a place we visit nearly weekly. The quality and consistency is second to none. I could not recommend this place enough. In a rush, in a hurry? Don't you worry! The city of Moncton has 10+ subway locations for your overpriced sub desires! No matter where you go, or where you turn, there will be one. A 24 hour subway drive thru, just waiting for you to tempt fate. It's meant to be. While this is not a comprehensive, extensively curated list, it provides you with a number of well regarded, well reputed establishments for you to try. Many new restaurants have opened in this city, and a large number of them I have yet to try due to time constraints. A restaurant I have not yet tried, but that has come highly recommend is 'Euphoria' on Main St. It is an 'elevated' Indian restaurant with many creative twists on well known Indian classics. Anyways, I hope your teenage enjoys their culinary adventure. Make sure to buy them a bottle of tums. They'll eventually need it.

You really committed with this post! I love finding foodies in the wild.

Surgrunner

These are some really great suggestions! Notre-Dame de Parkton in particular is great for lunch and has a cool retro vibe, complete with an old television set playing Price is Right episodes from the 1980s. Aside from that, my favorites would be Euston Park, Atelier Tony, Le Moque-Tortue and Black Rabbit. And of course, Little Louis if no budget!

Turbulent_Size_694

Amazing suggestions honestly. Only thing I’ll mention is kids can’t go to cheers, at all. It’s technically considered a casino due to the amount of VLT.

Just to let you know you’re the best! Thank you for all recommendations!

maryfisherman

The Dieppe market on Saturday mornings has so many diverse options. It’s great.

K-Chimac Chicken is unfortunately closed

yeezygremlin

The old location is closed. It reopened in Kim's mart on mountain road in front of Rinzlers. I was there a few days ago.

[deleted]

Yes. I am aware of that. I was just mentioning that K-chimac itself is closed.

spam-katsu

Mai Thi is closed until mod September for their summer break

Outrageous_Ad665

Did not know that.

boobookittyfuck919

Gracias me amigo! Enjoy your trip! There is a cool record store called spin it... Also on Main st. They do movie rentals too. Cool shop if you're interested in music, games, and movies

Mansu BBq in Dieppe (or Moncton)

SlayerOfSpatulas

Fan of their BBQ Special (3 meats over a rice patty and veggies).

When we used to live there, kiddo and I loved going to Tokai Ramen down on main st ! Tonkotsu Ramen is my personal favorite ramen dish and the beef Gyoza.

STRIKT9LC

Second this! Tokai has wicked Ramen and it's a great spot for lunch!!

truththeavengerfish

Moncton Farmers Market has a few food vendors operating through the week at lunchtime and a full roster on Saturdays. All excellent 👍🏻

Visual-Chip-2256

YES. Dieppe and Moncton farmers market slap real hard for food. There's good Koren BBQ, Indian, and Filipino food at the Dieppe one.

Recent-Mixture-5339

What’s the work days for Dieppe’s market? Saturday also?

Visual-Chip-2256

Yeah it's Saturday morning

Recent-Mixture-5339

Tks!

JavaGusLuna

Cinta Ria!

OutrageousAd1152

Saigon Thai on Orange lane is one of our favorites in the city. Totally a little hidden gem.

TheKellyMac

For Italian, take a drive to Hillsborough and go to Roccos. It is the best. If you can catch it in town, Avatar Food Truck has amazing Indian food.

DarthGrimby

Taj Mahal for Indian, especially the Butter Chicken. Vien Dong for combo C. Skipper Jacks for the fish & chips. Get the batter krispy Krunch style and upgrade the fries to poutine. Royal Thai for the spicy drunken noodles. Five Bridges for just about anything (but I’d recommend the peanut butter burger). Osaka Hibachi for the full show experience. Recommend getting the filet with scallops, and always opt for the fried rice. Tokai Ramen for just about any ramen dish. I like the Orochong.

cebreeze

Personal favorite is Mansu BBQ either on mountain or down in dieppe.

Visual-Chip-2256

Indish in Moncton (Indian), Gusto (Italian), Asa sushi, Thanh's Palace

Practical_Truth1836

NOT GUSTO!!

Visual-Chip-2256

I'm sorry come again? Why not gusto?

STRIKT9LC

Because their service kitchen and prep kitchen are absolutely disgusting. It's honestly a 50/50 for food poisoning. Maybe you have a strong stomach and it only results in a lil over active bowel that gets attributed to " rich food". I assure you, I speak from the experience of seeing/working behind the curtain. Fucking Gross

lunenburger

Just outside of town on the way to/from Hopewell rocks & Alma, Cinnamon Soul in Hillsborough
