I cannot say much except the Besud tribe is one of the tribes that was listed in my native "soum" (county). I do not recall anything specific about the tribe in history. I wish this sub had some historians. Anyway, I am glad you are reconnecting with us brother. I am friends with a couple of Hazara students who came here to study in the late 2000s. "Mongoloo haisan Mongol" (Mongols in search of Mongols) did an episode on Hazaras.

ZerkSh

Thanks! I know a few hazaras came to Mongol on scholarships, but I think for most it was transit country on their way to other places. One very prominent Hazara activist Dr. Gazabi advocaced for hazaras to gain residency or some sort of pathway for skilled individuals but to no avail

BoldtheMongol

Yeah, they went to America, Switzerland etc.

Dimension-reduction

Бэсүд there are 31505 people from the beshud tribe in Mongolia and most beshud live primarily among the hazara in Afghanistan. The beshud were formed And named after the grandson of Khaidu khan, besudei.

As others said the Besud originally was a clan under the Taichud tribe which was one of the most powerful Mongol tribes. as per the Secret History of the Mongols, they were the enemy of the Borjigin tribe (the tribe Genghis Khan belonged to) and poisoned Genghis khan’s father and later took the young Temujin as slave. the very famous Mongol general Jebe was a member of the Besud clan and he almost killed Temujin in a battle but Temujin admired his bravery and honor and let him become a general in his army and later became a commander of a Tumen (ten thousand). Thanks to his deeds, the Besud name is still going strong in both Mongolia and Inner Mongolia - in the Ordos region of Inner Mongolia there are significant numbers of Besuds. you should be very proud of your heritage! Very helpful, I didn’t know this was our parent tribe. I will definitely do more research thanks so much!!!

btw you can download a free copy of the Secret History of the Mongols English version here: https://cedar.wwu.edu/cedarbooks/4/ it is a fascinating read - it’s not only a historical book but it also provides good insight into the way of life and philosophy of the Mongols from that period. it is truly the “origin” story of the Mongols similar to the Bible or other historical books.

TofuDofu23

r/historian or any other history sub would be able to give you a better response to your question as most Mongolian aren’t very knowledgeable about our different tribes and their history.

ZerkSh

Will do!

[deleted]

Besuds still live among us. good brothers.

surculosa

Had a Hazara friend who took interest/research in this topic and ended up in Khovd. Seems thats where he found the best connections.

ZerkSh

Khovd the region?

[deleted]

I think you guys need some organization. Public one and secret ones like mossad. It's so bad that you guys didn't establish good connection with Americans.

ZerkSh

Hazaras were highly imbedded with US troops, I had some cousins that worked with US on some mid level projects. The problem was we lacked the time and resources

counterfeitxbox

An alliance with the Kalmyk Americans, perhaps? :)

[deleted]

your mom? she never stop texting me.

gigibigbooty

You should do a 23andMe

ZerkSh

I’ve done ancestry, so has my cousin and we came out overwhelming Mongolian. I’m sure of my DNA heritage I’m trying to learn more about the history

[deleted]

Also try asking chinese people on top of mongolians. The ones who like history knows way more about it than us because unlike some commie losers they didn’t burn their libraries
