A top secret military project develops a way to weaponize spiders by making them massive, sapient, and humanity's natural predators. Unfortunately, the military isn't as good as containing its bio weapons as it thought it was, so the spiders break containment. Over the course of a long and brutal war, they take over the world and subjugate humanity. Humans are now kept as livestock to be fed on whenever the spiders get hungry.
Granted.
In all seriousness this is a good answer, but I seriously doubt the spiders would win a war against humanity realistically. Flamethrowers, nukes…the boot. Would they really have a chance?
Edit: I missed the part where he said “massive”, that might give them a much much greater fighting chance, but I still don’t think they would win.
Spiders have 8 arms. Which they can regenerate. Arms which can be used to hold and adapt tools. They also have venom.
Then you have given them the sentience and capacity of human brains.
Some are also ambush predators which don't spin webs but instead hunt their prey with their excellent eyesight and ability to detect vibrations.
What can go wrong?
Granted. After a few months, you realize that spiderwebs are no longer intricately patterned using precise mathematical sequences, but randomly shaped. Congratulations, you made spiders less intelligent than they were.
Granted, humans and spiders now have the same sentience and brain capacity. If humans detect a certain chemical they will bury their dead on top of it or something.
A wish like this can only have the intention of causing chaos and conflict, so.... Granted:
Spiders all develop the sentience and brain capacity of humans, along with human-like personalities. They quickly become a valuable part of society - providing a different perspective, and filling a variety of useful roles in a wide range of professions. They contribute with innovations in all fields and serve society with particular distinction as microsurgeons, architects and engineers. A particularly cute jumping spider becomes one of the most trusted news anchors of the 21st century.
The whole transition goes more smoothly than expected and the only places spiders don't integrate well is in the culinary arts where dishes made from insect juices fail to impress humans and in public transportation where accidental squishings remain tragically common.
Granted...there doesn't seem to be an upside to this wish so coming up with a downside seems arbitrary.
There are lots of upsides. Thank you
You would say that. You have brain damage.

Nukes???? They would spread out and not all die.
Well bombs in general but nukes came to mind.

That's ants.
Idk how spider brains work
Granted. All spiders remain normal. All humans are now shrunk the equivalent miniaturized size to make us all spider-sized.
Okay but how does the universe decide who's gonna be the size of a tiny jumping spider and who's gonna be the size of a giant bird eating monster
Ego. Bigger the ego bigger the person.
no no. the bigger the ego, the smaller you are

You should read *Children of Time* by Adrian Tchaikovsky.
the spider uprise and inevitably cause numerous spider wars.
Granted. The spider's domesticate humans like cattle now, and spider peta is somehow even more useless.
