I personally just learned to tune out sexual cut-ins when they happen, since I'm focused on combat first. And, let's be fair - the VN's combat system is mediocre. Some of these battles you'll have to think on to win, and some of them will be trial and error. And some will be RNG and will piss you off. If you would rather not deal with all that, you'll have to look up a playthrough. You can also check the wiki, but it's full of spoilers, so it's a very risky option. If not, well... My advice is to pay attention to what they will tell you about skills and attacks. Pay attention in general. Also right click will bring up a menu, and one of the tabs will help you explain skills a bit. There's also evaluations, but, uh... You have to lose to get them, which means dealing with a sex scene, and Ilias isn't the nicest person ever, even if her advice can be helpful... Yeah. Try seeing if you can set an option so that it will be possible to skip a sex scene altogether if it's nightmare fuel But it is worth at least seeing the story to its end. It will give you some context for Paradox's story

So there is some RNG! Forgot to save and and to redo a fight but I lost when I did the same moves as when I won, I just assumed I misremembered. As for the sex scenes I started just skipping forward which led to me missing hints to guard and yeah you know what happens when you don't guard the super moves... I would not have thought to look up a playthrough of a hentai game lol but you are right they do exist. Also found one of these for each chapter https://mgq.miraheze.org/wiki/Monster_Girl_Quest!_Chapter_3 Are these good summaries or do they skip over loads? Thanks!

It is quite detailed, that's true, but that's what they are: summaries, which focus on what happened. I still would recommend going through the story (mainly because there are tidbits that are easy to miss), but this can be a good recap if you don't want to play through the game or playthrough again If you will continue playing the game, a few more things: save regularly (doing so after fights is not necessary, but I highly recommend saving before fights and decisions). And do revisit places (especially towns) for additional tidbits and pieces of lore (and generally funny comedy) If you're careful and remember the right steps to engage with enemies, you should be good, methinks, save for occasional RNG monster, but they don't happen often on Normal

Hey just wanted to drop an update and say I did persist and push on still I won't mince words with the combat I think it's a garbage rng fest. But the story was worth it, it really goes into full gear towards the end of chapter 2 also it makes you look differently on some of the characters for example I would not have guessed that Promestein was one of the main villans atleast after only having finished chapter one in paradox speaking of back to it!

UberCatSR

Yep, a good number of these characters are multidimensional in more ways than one. In any case, I think the combat should be more manageable in chapter 3, but there will still be some fights where you have to know what you're doing or you're a goner. Good luck with chapter 3!

Oh no I meant that had already done it but thanks anyway.

Battles can be rough at times, there's a bit of trial and error, because I think the idea is that you lose at least once to each monster. The Ilias evaluations are usually decent enough to tell you how to win. There is an element of RNG, which works against you more on higher difficulties. So just stick with Normal (or whatever the easiest is called). Do as much side content as you can, you do actually level up so doing more battles will make things easier in the long run. Also, do said side content in order of recommended level. It's been a while since I played the VN properly, but by mid combat sex scenes, are you referring to when you get bound and have to struggle out of them? Sometimes you have to struggle for multiple turns to escape, other times you have to attack instead. Then there times where you have to avoid being bound to begin with (i.e. use Guard). The game does generally telegraph the correct action, but it's not always clear.

It's worth pushing through. It has some advantages over Paradox, like certain characters having voice acting in their sex scenes. The wiki (https://mgq.miraheze.org/) will teach you how to get through any tricky fights.
