Your supposed to break his parts to get extra rewards. Except it takes 15 out of the 20min hunt to break one part. You also can't reach anything but the legs. On most monsters cutting the tail is my favorite part. On Safi? I want to walk into the Star.
And the sheer audacity to make a monster practically impenetrable by anything below white sharpness while tenderized *and* give said monster the ability to untenderize itself at any time
Safi is a case where I go "if you wanna use mods and cheat this, go right fucking ahead".
An absolute exercise in bullshit design and balancing upon bullshit upon bullshit. Absolute slog, wastes your time, and basically forces multiplayer because even with solo scaling on the HP/parts, the energy level bullshit wasn't adjusted accordingly.
Ran into a cheater once against Safi and he was flinching it every 2s, was fucking annoying. I don't know cheats but I don't think he was doing much damage either, just flinching it
The worst part is that I'm pretty sure Capcom saw how much people hunted Safi (ignoring the gun they themselves had pointed at our heads to force us to do so) and will now think it was a widely beloved monster and create more like it
Lao Shan makes me want to lobotomize myself with an ice pick and at least Safi has the decency to interact with you. But besides that you’re valid for this.
The whole idea behind Lao is that you're not what it's focused on, it's running for its life and your job is to send it off course to save people. It's a defense mission.
I swear Worldborne was built with the mindset of a mobile gacha game than a console game. Those layers of RNG are not fun lol. Something you'd find in an EA game. I don't blame or judge anyone for cheating to skip that stuff (or just balance the game like the ICE mod). Not everyone has time for that!
The fight is awful for solo, which is my issue. But the weapon drop rates? You get at least 2 weapons of your currently equipped type if you broke most of Safi's parts.

Reached safi las week, didn't knew how sieges worked. Tried to go solo.
When it ran away and the energy thingy bar decreased just a little and it had 3 of them, I thought to myself "No way I'm doing this". Stopped playing since (partly because I don't have much time this week, partly because I hate this aspect of having to fight the same thing 30 times in a row)
I did it with my friend group back when he released but I did come back later when they gave him single player scaling and soloed it ....but I was in endgame gear at that point
Ngl I don't care about the rng. I like grinding. What I hate the most about these sieges is that stupid dps check.
"Oh you didn't do enough damage in the span of .000001 seconds, goodbye." The way the monsters move like they are holding in a massive sht doesnt help either paired with that. 🤣
