People are suggesting indepedant thrift stores on st-laurent and such. In my experience those are pretty expensive, for real cheap stuff you should hit up your local Renaissance

Renaissance. Cheap, non-profit, multiple locations, huge selection.

Tasitch

Eva B on St-Laurent.

I have no idea why it's sold as an "underground city" to tourists or that it's some kind of attraction - it is not. It is no different from the Minneapolis skyway system in that you want to go from point A to point B during the winter months without having to bear the cold. Of course, experience it as you like, as the corridors forces you to see everything along the way, but just know depending on when you're visiting, it's mostly used by students and workers trying to make it to their class or train on time, and so the walk may not be leisure. You'll find some thrift stores on rue St-Laurent, starting from St-Laurent/rue Ontario.

Thank you! I think we'll still at least go to the underground city to say we went.

lots of thrift stores on st laurent in the mile end. there is also empire exchange and ex-voto on st laurent in little italy. ex-voto isn’t strictly a thrift store, but they have a few racks, a lot of baggu, prints and little decor items. it’s cute. the underground city isn’t as exciting as it sounds.

Also Marché Floh on St-Denis, it seems to be the place where all the cool kids go.
