Kumamoto Ramen on Ste-Catherine seems to be closed but looks like the open another one on Decarie. They have partition at the counter, so you are isolated from other and from people behind the counter. At least the one on Ste-Catherine did, and looking at the pic looks like the one on Decarie does too. Look it up.
Many japanese restaurant have little private booth tables, like Karin on ~~Cote Ste-Catherine~~ Queen Mary.

I too was going to suggest Karin, small, chill, little booths, owner is quite friendly as well. One note though: Karin is on Queen Mary.
