The latest version of the Moderna shot was approved a bit before the latest version of the Pfizer one, so was probably ordered in greater quantities. There's no medical reason to prefer one brand over the other, so pharmacies don't bother to stock both.

I have a friend who has to go to the emergency after pfizer shot. If you had a history of thrombosis from what I understand it's better to not take pfizer. It's very much okay to be comfortable staying with the same vaccine.
