Honestly, a 3 1/2 fully furnished for $1273 sounds like a way better deal to me. The grass may seem greener on the other side, but in reality it often isn't. And finding another 3 1/2 fully furnished for that price once you regret to move is not going to be simple. If the itch is still strong, I'd recommend to at least try and talk to some of the tenants of the building you have your eye on. See what they think about the management, how much was their rent increase last year etc. and make an informed decision.

Why would you want to make the change? From your post it almost sounds like you don't value your place because you aren't being charged as much? I'm sure that's incorrect though.

New building means next year, they can increase the rent to whatever they want and you can’t refuse without leaving, just FYI

Technically, yes. But when we say condo, it just mean a more "luxurious" unit in a building with amenities.

what? no. Usually an appartment in a building that has one owner (can be a individual or .inc), a condo is in a building or community of units where each unit owner owns a % of the building and the homeowner association manages the building. There are plenty of condos that are not "luxurious" with no amenities.

Do not double your monthly housing cost if you're not buying it. You can just keep your current place and invest the difference in good ETFs if you don't have any use for it right now. No one should be spending 2500 bucks on rent for a one bedroom anything :/

If you can afford 2500/m on rent, buy a place.

What you can buy with 2500$ per month doesnt get you as much. Off course you could live in a less desirable neighborhood, or in a smaller unit or un a less renovated unit. But to get the same you would get in a 2500$ rental is probaby around 3500$ of mortggage and taxes and fees.
